Your POV
This morning I woke up feeling off. My whole body felt like there was another layer of skin on me. I looked towards the night table and saw that I had slept past my alarm. I woke up momentarily thinking I was going to be late but I didn't feel like going to school today. So instead, I plopped back down on my bed and went back to sleep.
Very easily, I went to sleep but a sudden wave of coldness shivered down my spine. "Get up! You're going to be late. I'm going to drop you at school." My mum shouted. I groaned, trying to find my cover blindly without opening my eyes.
"I feel sick, I don't feel like going to school."
"Don't try to get out of it Y/N. You're going to school, you're not going to be able to change that." She said before leaving my room. I let myself close my eyes for a moment until I heard my mum's footsteps coming closer again. I leaped out of my bed and rushed to the washroom pretending I have been there for some time already.
I brushed my teeth with my eyes closed and went to change as I heard mum rushing me from downstairs.
"God, finally. Hurry up, we are going to be late." She rushed once again as she took her car keys.
I didn't know if it was because she was rushing against time or it was because I was feeling unwell but I felt very queasy as I sat in the car as she accelerated and stopped each time. I was trying to take deep breaths and look into the distance to ease the feeling.
We managed to reach school on time and I said goodbye to her before heading in.
"You look awful." Crystal said. "I mean you usually look like you don't care about anything in the world but now you look dead."
"Geez, thanks."
Do I really look that bad? I guess I didn't take a good look at myself when I was washing up, I was too focused trying to sleep as much as possible.
"Cover for me." I told her as I rested my head on my arm. It wasn't a comfortable position but I'll take anything now. I avoided moving too much as I didn't want to gain any attention from the teacher.
However, I could feel something rising from my stomach and I slapped Crystal on the shoulder before darting out of class. I knew I wasn't going to make it to the washroom so I settled for the nearest bin.
I threw my guts out until the teacher came out to check on me. "Honey, I don't think you're fit for class today. Why don't you go clean up while I tell the office to call your mum?" I nodded my head before walking to the washroom.
"Since when did you acquire the ability to stand and sleep?" I heard Crystal's voice and looked at her through the mirror.
"Just. A really useful skill really."
"Ms White told me to bring you to the office. Your mum is coming."
Scarlett POV
I had just settled down for makeup not too long until I saw someone calling my phone. I did not save the phone number but it looked familiar so I picked it up.
Is this Ms Johansson speaking?
Yes?
Hi, I'm calling on behalf of the school to inform you that Y/N Y/L/N had fallen ill and we would appreciate it if there is someone able to pick her up.
Is she okay?
According to Ms White, she's fine but it will be better if she stays at home and recuperates.
Alright. I'll come pick her up soon.
Apologising to the makeup artist, I went to find the director and producer hoping that my scene wasn't the first to be shot. Bless my luck that they said I had time to pick Y/N up from school so I hopped into my car immediately.
Thankfully, the movie I was filming only required me to have normal makeup so I didn't have to change or do anything.
If only I had just believed her that she wasn't feeling well it would have been better. It would have been better for her to rest and for me to know that she was at home resting while I was working. I would have sent someone to take care of her. Why did I assume that she was trying to skip school?
When I entered the office, Y/N was sitting there looking very pale, all colour drained from her face. "Hi Miss Johansson." I greeted her back and Y/N finally noticed I'd arrived.
"How are you feeling? Do you need any water?" I asked before we had to leave her school. She shook her head and we slowly walked back to my car. After making sure once again that she was fine, I drove back to set.
"We are going to set. You can rest in my trailer. Sorry that we can't go back home, there's no one there to take care of you." I rubbed Y/N's arm with one hand while driving.
"It's okay."
Once we reached the set, I guided Y/N to my trailer. There weren't many people around as most of them had started filming. Once I settled Y/N on the sofa bed, I went to the set medic to get some tylenol.
"Just rest and go to sleep. When you wake up you can come find me." I told her gently while stroking her head after giving her tylenol. I stayed for a while after she closed her eyes before rushing to the makeup trailer and finishing getting my makeup done. "Hey Scarlett, if you're ready, the director needs you."
"Alright thanks, Carrie. I'll be there soon." Once the makeup was done, I went to find the director as he went through the sequence of shots he was going to take. He asked for any inputs before we took our positions.
As much as it was fun filming with the cast member, Y/N being sick in my trailer was at the back of my head. I hope the medicine had taken effect and she would feel better soon.
"How's your daughter?" Carrie asked while we had a short break as they checked the footage. "I heard she came to set?"
"Yeah, she got sick in school so I had to bring her here."
"It's never easy taking care of kids."
Your POV
I woke up feeling like I can no longer sleep and remembered that mum brought me to her trailer. Tylenol that mum gave me did help, I don't feel so lethargic anymore and my head isn't pounding.
I didn't want to go out to find mum and interact with other people so I took my phone from the table and scrolled through social media for a while. I didn't notice what time mum brought me to set but it's already 2pm and I'm feeling slightly hungry.
I waited a little longer before gathering courage to search for my mum. Each set is different and even though I've been to my fair share of sets with her, I'm not too sure if I'm headed the right way.
I peaked my head through and saw cameras around and people were talking at normal voice level so I assumed that they were not currently filming. Speed walking around while trying to find my mum, I finally found her talking to an actress. I wasn't going to stand around and wait until she was alone so I approached her.
Tugging her shirt to gain her attention, she noticed me and wrapped her arms around my shoulders. "Are you feeling better?" I nodded my head. "Meet Carrie, she plays the protagonist in this movie."
"Hi, I'm Y/N, nice to meet you."
"Hi, you're as beautiful as your mum described."
Feeling slightly embarrassed, you smiled and nodded your head as thanks. "Mum, I'm hungry."
"Oh my, it's past 2pm. What do you want to eat? I can order from my phone."
"Uhh, pizza?" It was the first thing that came to mind. I'm not really good at deciding what to eat. She gave me the side eye before agreeing and putting in the order.
"We still have a bit of filming to do so when the pizza comes, just eat in the trailer yeah."
The day could have gone better with me just resting at home instead of having to make a wasted trip to school and even ending on set but at least mum was near me. Thank my body for not giving me the worst illness.
