I wake up to the light illuminated from the large window. Its extremely peaceful. Today the sun is in the sky and there's not a cloud in sight.
I wake up and I make the bed. Ensuring that the room looks perfect. And I skip to the shower. After the shower, I get dressed.
In Nathan's black joggers -they've grown on me- and a grey tank top and my construction boots.
Today is the day. We're going for the walk over at the hotel and finalizing the flooring.
I walk down the stairs, in the kitchen Charlotte is making breakfast. The house has a nice ginger smell.
"Watcha doing?" I ask smiling at her.
"Breakfast for you, Ethan and I." She says while piping the frosting on the cupcakes and adding bunny ears.
"Too much sugar for breakfast. Hey what about Nate?" I ask. Smiling at her effort.
"The cupcake is gluten-free I'm trying a new thing. And I dont feed traitors." She says.
"What do you mean by traitors?" I ask.
She points at the living area and I move towards it. There I find Elizabeth and Nathan laughing and chatting.
He barely notices my presence they way he always does. But I did ask him to be nice.
I sit on the barstool and wait for Charlotte to be done.
"Oh, let me go get Ethan." I tell her.
I literally run up the stairs to Ethan's room , where I find him playing with Legos.
"Hey baby." I greet. He looks up and smiles.
"Morning Mommy. Look I'm building a house for you and me and Daddy." He says pointing to the Lego structure.
I smile.
"Wheres my room?" I sit with my legs crossed on the rug.
"Where daddy's is." He says adding a block to the top.
"Daddy who?" I ask.
It kind of disturbs me how he doesnt consider Jeremy his father. Isnt that weird somehow? Or am I overreacting?
"Daddy as in Nate." He smiles and offers a little Lego person.
I smile and he shows me around the little house he built.
"Baby, we have to go get breakfast and then I have work." I tell him.
"Let's go. I know aunty Char made cookies." He stands so fast.
"Yes she did. Save this for when I come back from work. We'll play castles and dragons." I tell him as we walk back down.
"No mommy dinosaurs!" He corrects.
I laugh. And I smile at him.
"Okay, if only I get to be the princess." I say when we reach the bottom of the stairs.
"I think you mean queen. And if you do, then you already are." A new voice says.
I feel him before I see him.
Natha kisses my cheek and kisses Ethan's forehead.
"Breakfast!" Charlotte says.
And in fear to disobey her, we carry ourselves to the table.
"Say Grace baby." I tell Ethan.
He nods and says a short prayer before finally digging into Chatlottes muffins.
"These are so good." I tell Charlotte. She smiles as she eats her own.
"I know right." She chimes.
After breakfast Oscar drives me to the construction site and I'm met by a bulky man with blond hair struck up and can I just say my, my ,my that's a man.
"Hi I'm Derek." He shakes my hand.
"I'm Gemima. I'm the head designer of this place." I tell him.
"Oh, I'm the head contractor here." He says chuckling .
"Nice to meet you Derek. Do you know where I could find my team?" I ask.
He nods and points to the left.
"Those two are your team." He says.
I nod.
"Thank you." I smile. He gives me the hots.
"How about you give me your number and we could hang out sometime." He says.
I nod and press my number into his phone and he smiles.
"Nice to meet you Gemima." He says.
I walk over to the two. A young man with Jet black hair and pink lips and a young woman with bronze hair and green eyes.
"Hey." I greet.
"Hey." They say simultaneously.
I look at how they are dressed and suddenly I feel underdressed. They are in professional wear.
I can imagine that they wanted to make a good first impression on me.
"I'm Gemima." I extend my hand towards to young woman.
"I'm Hazel." She says. Her voice is smooth but also a bit raspy and you can hear her nerves.
"I'm Jaden." He says smiling comfortably at Hazel.
Are they a couple? Whoo!
"Alright so today we're supposed to do a bit of a walk over. I was thinking we separate this to three days? What do you think?" I ask.
"Yes, it makes sense. This place is huge." Jaden says.
There is alot of noise from the power tools they are using but I can hear them clearly.
We walk into large foyer.
"Okay, so hit me with ideas." I ask them.
"For the paint colour I was thinking a bit of grey, a touch of yale on the focal wall and white the rest." Hazel says.
"Hmm, I think yale is good but if we're talking blue, how about prussian?" I ask. She nods as if I just solved for X and G at the same time.
"Okay and for the layout , I'm thinking that this wall here be the reception wall. Your desk and all of that. A little plant here, just to be a breathe of fresh air.
And a few seating arrangements done there for people waiting for service." Jaden says.
I look at every place he points at. That would be very nice.
"Since the theme of this place is France, I was thinking we have those sculptured ceilings. You know like the cupid and all those things.
I think that feels a bit luxurious." I tell the pair of eyes staring at me like I'm God.
We continue the walk over at the foyer. And soon we head out.
I find the Mercedes Benz I usually ride parked infront of the building.
Instead of Oscar, its Nathan in the driver's seat.
"Hey there pretty lady." He greets.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" I ask as soon as I'm seated on the chair.
"I thought it'd be nice if I came to pick you up and then pick Ethan up and have a little ice cream date. Just us three." He says pealing off the site.
"There's alot of progress. Electrical and plumbing is done. Like that place is just left with dry walling and then you can get your hands on it." He says excitedly.
I nod and then he picks up a call and starts using his professional tone.
I stare out the window until my phone pings. Who could that be?
Unknown : Hey
Unknown : I know you missed me, I'll be back in about two weeks. I cant wait to see you.
Okay who is this? Could it be Derek playing a prank on me?
Unknown : oh stop being frightened it's the love of your life.
