3rd person's POV:

"This is stupid," Kakashi said crossing his arms as he once again muttered his opposition to this. (Y/n) didn't mind the first time he complained, nor the second or third one, but this time she was starting to have enough.

"You don't have to come. I didn't even ask you to," she sighed, it made his brow twitch even more.

"I've never seen that woman in my entire life. This is sketchy and you can't protec—" he was cut off, or rather he shut up, when the door of the building they were standing in front of fluttered open.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," a young girl with stunning looks smiled at them, closing her golden eyes as she smiled with her perfect pearl teeth "You must be (Y/n)," she said, turning to her and holding her hand in a greeting. They were so soft and slender she couldn't help but look at them, although her attention was stolen by something more... eye-catching. (Y/n) blushed after a few minutes when she realized she had been staring at her breasts for a few minutes. They were just... so big, and standing out with the elegant yet revealing clothes she wore, pushing them even higher "And you must be Kakashi," she smiled to the silver-haired who as well had some difficulty not looking somewhere compromising "Come in, Lady Kurva is already waiting for you" she said, walking outside the building and standing right behind both of them.

She laid one hand on Kakashi's shoulder and the other one on (Y/n)'s back, and giving them a gentle squeeze, she pushed them inside and guided them through the traditional yet fancy halls. (Y/n) couldn't help but have her eyes wandering everywhere. From the mahogany wooded floor that she could have mistaken for wet from how much it shined, to the vintage paintings on the paper doors. Even the gardens that she could peek at through the windows of the hall. There were beautiful and vibrant trees, that from where she stood could as well look like a soft cloud of pink petals. But despite how relaxing the sight of the garden seemed, with its ponds and chirping birds, there was something that just eclipsed it completely: loud chuckles, followed by more cackles and talking noises. They came from the many rooms they passed by,  but the closed doors prevented them from peeking inside. Even Kakashi seemed intrigued by the building and sounds.

Their guide, the woman whose name they didn't know, finally came to a halt right in front of a room with its doors painted differently, more extravagant. She knocked twice and a ninja-looking guy opened it. (Y/n) looked at him, inspecting his appearance. But it was Kakashi who was the most struck by the man. He didn't recognize him, and more importantly, the clothes he wore. So he figured this person was not an actual ninja of Konoha and instead a ninja hired by (probably) Kurva. Kakashi's eyes remained firm in a frown while he looked at the ninja, but he seemed utterly unbothered by Kakashi and stepped aside to let the three of them inside.

"(Y/n), I'm so happy you decided to come" Kurva smiled at the girl with her eyes closed, but opened them ever so slightly when she also noticed Kakashi. He frowned, looking at her almost with the same sentiment as he was, although she bore a kind and not-so-innocent smile while his lips were rather into a straight line behind his mask.

"I just came to take a look," (Y/n) said with a strained smile when she felt the hairs on her body stand. She wasn't sure why, but the atmosphere felt... stiff.

"Of course," she said, rearranging her kneeling position by the table she was in a more proper manner "even with Kakashi here, my girls and I will gladly show you how everything works around" she said, her smile becoming even glossier as she leisurely stood up.

Kakashi's knitted brow broke for a second at the mention of his name. He hadn't talked to her ever, so he thought perhaps (Y/n) had talked about him. He turned around to look at (Y/n) who also looked at him, but by the look she was giving him and the almost invisible shake of her head he knew she hadn't mentioned him. Of course, Kurva could just know who he was, there were many people in the village who did. But the way she said it just struck him as awkward. Or perhaps he was just being his usual paranoid self.

"That was my office," Kurva talked once they exited the room "of course, any of the girls are invited to come and spend time with me. But there's not much to see there," she said as they walked down the same hallway they passed through in the beginning.

Right as she finished saying that a fit of laughter erupted from the room they were passing by. (Y/n) slightly jumped at the sudden and unexpected loud sound.

"That would be one of our clients," she explained. And suddenly stopped in her tracks. She turned around and faced (Y/n), pretty much ignoring anyone else, from Kakashi to the girl that had greeted them at the entrance, and even the two guards that followed all of them from behind "I know you probably don't care much about the building itself. So why don't we take a look at what they're doing?" Kurva gave (Y/n) a smile, almost like a smirk from up close. (Y/n) hesitated, and even seemed to flush. But in the end, she ended up nodding as it was actually that what troubled her the most about this weird job offer "Come," she said, walking in another direction. They went to the lower floor, and Kurva opened the door to a room. There was nothing on it, not even a window "You can wait outside," she said to her guards who immediately stood in the hallway as if they were statues.

And then she gave a short nod to the girl who had welcomed Kakashi and (Y/n) at the entrance. She smiled, excitedly and left the room as well, disappearing somewhere else in the building. Kurva walked inside the room and knelt next to the only thing in the room. It was a small oil lamp that laid right in the middle. Her smile disappeared when she looked at Kakashi, and then to the door. Kakashi understood, and although hesitant, he closed the door.

Everything went dark, and (Y/n) froze in the middle of the room right where she was standing. She couldn't see anything, and the only thing she could hear was distant chatter. How was this 'taking a look' at what was going on in that other room? She couldn't see Kurva, or Kakashi, and she couldn't even see her own hands. That's why she jumped scared, and almost screamed, when a hand laid on her forearm. But the touch, coldness, and especially way of holding her immediately let her know it was Kakashi's.

And suddenly, a very dim golden light illuminated the room. Kurva had lit up the oil lamp and indicated (Y/n) to sit in front of her. Kakashi let go of her and they both sat next to each other, both of them equally confused. Kurva looked at Kakashi, her face completely cold, and then she turned to (Y/n). She swallowed, feeling Kurva's appearance slightly intimidating with so many shadows from the oil lamp. The elder woman brought her finger to her lips signaling her to be silent, and her lips took on her usual smile again. Then she pointed to the roof.

Both Kakashi and (Y/n) looked up, eyes slightly widening when they realized why this room looked like it did. The tiles of the rooftop seemed to have been placed in a very specific way that allowed for people to see what was happening in the room on top of it, and the fact that the room had a rather short rooftop only gave more room to see clearly. And now, with everyone silent, they could as well listen to the whole conversation going on. Not only that, but Kurva stood up, she approached the nearest wall and pushed something to the side, and suddenly an image was projected right onto the other wall.

(Y/n)'s (e/c) eyes widened and her mouth fell agape. She even had to look at the image for a few minutes to finally understand what was happening, how though, she still had no idea. But matching the sounds of the conversation, to the inverted image she was seeing on the wall, she understood it was some type of projection of what was happening in the room over them. And she was most correct. Kakashi knew instantly what was happening, and although unlike her he did know how it was happening, he pondered about the specific system she was using. The image came from a small hole situated in the room above, it must have been minuscule, perhaps one or two millimeters. And with only a couple of mirrors placed inside the walls... voilà, you could see what was happening in the room above with sounds and all.

Despite the image being upside down, you could still clearly see everything. There were seven people in the room: four men, and three women. These last wore clothes similar to the girl from before, they were elegant, yet some more revealing than others. Two of them sat together in between two men while the other one, the one who had the most revealing clothes sat in between two of the men. One of them made a joke that (Y/n) didn't even understand and made all of them chuckle. Then they drank from their glasses while taking a few bites of whatever was left from the many appetizers on the table. There was a knock on the door above and one of the laughing men opened it.

"Ah, Lina!" the man sounded surprised yet happy. He stepped aside to let the person in, and (Y/n)'s eyes widened yet again at the sight of the woman who had taken them to Kurva. Lina stepped inside the room with a charming smile and the man held her hand delicately, laying an even more delicate kiss over it "And here I thought I wouldn't be able to see you until next time" Lina smiled at him and he let her hand go, accompanying her to sit by the table with them.

"How could I miss a company of a man such as yourself?" she said with shining eyes and a warm smile "Your discussions are one of a kind,"

"Talking about that," another man said while raising his cup "we were talking about a lifeboat dilemma" Lina's head tilted, waiting for the problem to be explained.

"Suppose there is a boat with a capacity for 50 people," the man who had let Lina in the room started to explain, pouring a drink to her "It's already at 40 of its capacity, and there are 100 people drowning in the sea. What would you do? How do you choose the 10 people that get to live?" (Y/n)'s head in the dark room below also tilted, confused by the question. She didn't expect a topic like that, and she herself fell into deep thought about the answer.

"I say we only allow the pretty and young women," another man who sat further in the room, quite secluded from the rest, and who seemed and sounded slightly inebriated said with a giggle. The rest laughed slightly but shook their heads.

"You would trip, fall, and drown before even getting to decide. Your opinion is not valid," the man who started the topic said "I say the captain of the boat should decide, and I'm no captain" he chuckled, making his peers laugh with him.

"I think I would take the ones who would be the most useful," one of the women said "nurses, ninja, ..."

"There are very old ninjas though," the woman next to her refuted.

"I wouldn't let anyone in, fuck them" another one said with a huge grin, making some of them laugh and some of them shake their heads "Think about it, what if there's an emergency later? It leaves room for safety and more resources for the people on it" The laughter died out although some smiles remained "So, Lina? What do you think?"

"I would take the younger ones, and throw the older, wounded and useless off the boat" she answered.

"So?" Kurva asked (Y/n) when the men in the room above left and they went back to her office "what do you think? Will you work with me?" (Y/n) blinked a few times and looked at the floor. She didn't know what to answer.

"I don't understand," she admitted "why were they talking about boats?" a burst of melodic laughter left Kurva's lips.

"Those men, they're the shareholders of the biggest construction company in the Land of Fire" she said, shocking (Y/n) "they were talking about new policies of the company. Some want to fire older workers and hire younger people. Others think seniors should be rewarded and only the most experienced youngsters should be hired. And others think everything's good as it is"

"So the people in the boat..." (Y/n) pondered. Kurva nodded, confirming that it was a metaphor.

"Those are the kind of meetings we hold," Kurva explained

"You keep saying it like there's nothing weird," Kakashi finally spoke for the first time since they entered the building "but why are there only girls? Why do they only want women?" Kakashi asked. He, as a man himself, knew why they wanted women, but he wasn't sure (Y/n) understood it. Kurva looked at him and stayed in silence for a minute before she finally answered.

"The company of a beautiful girl with a bright mind, such as yourself," Kurva said, placing her attention back at (Y/n) with an encouraging and warm smile "easily boasts a man's ego. Men... they're so simple and predictable" she added, giving Kakashi a side glance. It annoyed him but he felt heat rising up his body at the same time.

"I don't buy it," Kakashi spoke again "You wouldn't have guards if there wasn't any risk" Once again, Kurva's eyes landed on him, her smile dying out.

"Indeed, wherever there are men, there is danger to women" she poisonously said, but Kakashi didn't take it to heart "it's better that they're there in case something happens than they're not and something actually does happen" she added before she once again turned to (Y/n). This time though, her purple half-lidded eyes laid on the bandaged arm of the (h/c) girl "My guards, unlike other ninjas, wouldn't have allowed that to happen to you" she said, and this time, Kakashi did take it to heart.

"I-I'm not sure," (Y/n) finally spoke after having been in a thoughtful state of her own, stopping the quarrel between the two silver-heads "I don't think I would do good in a situation like that"

"I disagree, sweetheart. And I and the rest can teach you how to make the most of yourself and men," Kurva said, once again with such a pure smile (Y/n) might have accepted on the spot. Kakashi faltered at (Y/n)'s side. He was about to say something again, but Kurva continued "you think about it, and about the pay... Right now, you would work from three to five days a week for as long as the meeting lasted, 30$ an hour" (Y/n)'s eyes widened yet again at such a difference from what she was earning right now. Even Kakashi seemed more troubled at the sum. He glanced at (Y/n), getting more worried when he saw she was doubting.
