There was pin drop silence for about two or more minutes, as you all stared at each other.
"Boss?", you cocked an eyebrow at him.
Chloe was frowning, teeth nibbling on her lower lip.
Yoongi exhaled, finally looking at Chloe, nodding once.
She hurriedly bowed and left the room, closing the door.
You felt like you were transformed into a rock.
Yoongi walked up to his seat, sitting himself down opposite you.
His eyes were glued to the framed picture on the table.
He suddenly smiled, turning the picture towards you.
You blinked, staring at it.
Marcus, Yoongi and you. Surrounded by happy, giggly children.
Your heart ached, you reached out to take the picture from his hands.
Your fingers stroked the glass, you and Yoongi looked so young. Marcus looked so happy.
"The day Marcus left... Chloe called me..", Yoongi's voice made you look up at him.
His expression was pained, tired. You noticed the lines of worry and exhaustion on his face. Despite the situation, you wanted to hold his face tight to your chest and comfort him.
A sigh left your throat.
"... I was dubious about it, because well you know how things happened the last time we were here... "
His fingers knotted as he stared down at the table, hard.
".... When I arrived here.. Chloe gave me this note.."
You were somewhere in the middle of blaming yourself for leaving and feeling extremely frustrated about not knowing any of this.
Startled when Yoongi got up and moved towards the cabinets at the back, pulling out a drawer and a diary.
He had this yellow worn out paper in his hands as he put the diary back in to it's place.
He sat down and handed you the note.
Your fingers shook as you took it, slowly unfolding it.
It was a letter, to Yoongi and you,
from Marcus.
Your eyes fervently went through every line, your heart beat quickening the deeper you went.
Your hand fisted on the table.
You swallowed down the lump in your throat as you looked up at Yoongi.
"Father... Mr Park... they-", your throat was so dry, the words dried up in there. Your head felt so heavy.
"Yes.
Since we were the only people he could trust..
He put me in charge..", he sighed.
"... How.. I don't understand.. Why would they
Park sent Jola.. ", your voice was hoarse.
Yoongi shook his head.
"Like you can see there, Marcus wanted you to know only after you returned...
Even when I wanted to tell you, I couldn't..
You don't know how much that bothered me..."
You knew Marcus cared about you, cared about you a lot. He was the Father you never had.
He protected you in ways you couldn't even imagine.
Leaving this place was hard for a lot of reasons, but leaving Marcus was the toughest.
You remembered the last time you were here.
"I know you'll return. The day you do, things will be different.
However, nobody here would ever lay a finger on you.
They will only ever try to protect you.
Because you're family.", you sat there sobbing, listening to Marcus.
A tear slipped down your cheek, you angrily brushed it off.
"Why didn't he tell me any of this earlier? Why did he... Why...
Why did he have to leave.."
Your tears flowed freely now, you couldn't do anything to stop them.
The anger, the frustration, everything was getting to your head.
You just stared at the framed picture, your shoulders shaking as you sobbed.
You felt Yoongi's arms wrapping around your shoulders as he pressed your face against his stomach.
"He just wanted to protect you.. from them", Yoongi whispered softly.
