When I get home, I hug Ethan tightly . Pouring everything I have into him.
"Hey my love." I greet.
"Hi mommy. How are you?" He asks.
"Free baby, I'm free. How are you?" I ask him.
"Mommy you're acting funny. I'm pine." he says giggling.
"You want to build a fort and hang out later?" I ask and he smiles and nods so fast that he must've gotten a whiplash.
I kiss his forehead. My lips lingering longer than how I usually kiss him.
He holds me tightly.
"I love you mommy." He says.
"I love you baby. So, so much." I say caressing his mop of hair.
"Hey." Charlotte greet.
I hug her as well. She chuckles but returns it.
"Hey. Are you going somewhere?" I ask eyeing her outfit. In a red top, a blue denim and white sneakers.
She nods.
"Please drop this in my room for me." I ask her handing her my purse.
She runs upstairs. The same time the door bell ring.
I descend to the gallery. To open the door.
She comes tumbling down the stairs like lightning.
I shake my head at her scoldingly.
"Hello." I tell the person and then shock engulfs me.
"Tyler?" I ask, he smiles even more.
"Gemmie. You looks so good. I missed you." He says engulfing me in an hug.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"I could ask you the same thing. But realise that you live here , I'm here for that lady that's matching with me." He says.
I realise that they're wearing matching outfits. How cute.
"Dont wait up." She says pushing past me.
"Uhh not happening. I'm making a large dinner and I want the whole family home for it." I tell her.
"Dont call my brother, he'll come running home from work finished or not. Anyway okay, bye." She says by the time I reply she is half way down the drive way.
"Bye!" I yell and Tyler chuckles and jogs after her.
I start with dinner, not before I decide to call Mrs Hart.
"Hey, Mrs Hart." I greet.
"Hey Gemma. How are doing? Dr Lopez said you came and did well." She says.
"I am feeling good. I did go and I feel a bit free." I admit.
"I'm glad you did honey. And I'm proud of you. This is the first step at getting better. I'm proud of you darling." She says.
If she was here she'd pinch my cheeks, I see it in the way she's looking at me.
"Thank you for the recommendation Mrs Hart. I really plan on booking for another session." I tell her smiling.
"You could use my sessions. I see her every week." She says.
"Thank you." I smile.
She eyes the environment of the kitchen.
"What's happening in the there?" She asks and I smile.
"I'm making a big dinner for us. Dr Lopez said to appreciate the people around me. So I'm doing that with the dinner." I tell her. She smiles proudly.
"I wish I was there." She smiles.
"I wish you were here as well." I nod.
"Oh and dont call Nathan, he'll come running home without thinking twice." She warns.
I laugh.
"Charlotte said the same thing." I chuckle.
"That boy and his food you cant– oh honey I have to go, a seminar is starting. I'll call you guys later or tomorrow. Jeffrey wait for me!" She yells before she ends the call.
I smile.
I text Nathan.
Me: What time will you be home?
Him :Normal time why?
Him :You need anything?
Me :No
Me: Just have a little surprise for you. And dont come even a second early from work. They warned me.
Him: Oh I'm going to kill Char and Mom.
I chuckle and continue cooking until six PM.
Ethan comes downstairs to complain about hunger.
"Mommy are you done yet?" He whines.
I smile at him. He's always been impatient when it comes to food.
"No baby. Not yet but I'll be soon done." I tell him and groans .
Nathan walks in and kisses both Ethan and I on the head.
Then heads up to shower.
Just like Ethan he sits on the barstools and whines.
"Gem are you done yet?" He asks.
"No Nate, I'm not. Stop whining." I scold the two of them.
They both pout and I almost slide out of my body. These two look exactly like each other.
Like universe what kind of sick joke is this?
I ask the two to help me set the table up and they do just that.
Arranging the plates and everything else properly as if we're going to have guests.
I place the food on the glass table and we all sit around.
"Ethan say grace." I tell him. He nods.
"Thank you Jesus for the food on the table. For my mommy who cooked it and my daddy who loves us. Thank you for procteting us today. Amen" he says .
I cant help but smile.
"How was your day?" I ask Nate as he dishes for himself. And I'm dishing for Ethan.
"I had a boring day. Until a lady told me about a surprise and my day has been amazing since." He says.
"How was your day Ethan?" I ask him. He smiles from the food he is stuffing in his mouth.
"I had so much fun mommy. Aunty Charlotte took me to the park." He says.
I smile.
"How about you?" Nathan asks.
"I had a very interesting day. But now my eyes are open and I'm feeling free and happy." I say. Nathan cocks his head but nods along anyway.
"You guys started without me?" Charlotte asks whining.
"I told you to come home early." I tell her. She huffs but sits next to Nathan anyway.
And she digs in without a single question.
"Where were you all these christmases? You basically cooked a whole Thanksgiving." She gushes as she eats.
"Cover your mouth Charlie." I scold and the entire table laughs, including Ethan.
Then suddenly Charlotte and Nathan stare at something behind me in complete silence.
Nathan's face homes a lot of emotions at once. The ones I am able to catch are the hurt, the anger, the confusion and then total shock.
Charlotte looks like she is going to kill whatever it is behind me .
I turn and I see a woman. Absolutely gorgeous.
She is about a couple of inches taller tha myself, her locks are blond and they fall on her shoulders. Her eyes are stormy blue and her nose is turnt up.
My eyes travel down her body. She is in a knee length dress. And is pregnant?
She looks exactly like Charlotte except a little older.
And fear, that's the only thing I see on her face.
"Please, I had no where else to go." She begs. Her voice sounds so good.
"Get out of my house." Nathan says. And I'm taken aback, why is he kicking his sister out of his house?
"Please Natie." She begs.
"He said get out of this house. Now!" Charlotte presses.
"Come on guys, you cant throw a pregnant woman out at night." I beg.
"Elizabeth I said get out." Nathan grits.
"Nathan please." I plead.
