They made him sit down to interrogate him. He hated the cops, survey corps or not, they were suckers. If it weren't for his friends, he wouldn't be doing this now, but it's not like he is pointing anyone, he was a failure himself. He played with his dagger at the table. Erwin sat in front of him and waved the other guards for privacy, which they were hesitant but still responded. Erwin threw an envelope at the desk making Levi raise an eyebrow.
"Your results" Erwin said. His eyes looked so serious.
"You cops-" Levi was easily cut off.
"We are not cops, Levi. We risk our lives more than those cowards. Open the folder" Erwin ordered. Levi reached at the envelope without taking his eyes away from Erwin. He opened it.
"I've got to say, 4108 is pretty low" Levi sounded bored. Erwin chuckled lowly muttering 'low'.
"What's funny?" Levi raised a brow.
"When I was at your age, I had 3476. And that was the highest score till Mike beated it with his 3521" Erwin retorted making him silent.
"Spectacular 3DManeuver movement and speed, amazing swordmanship, sharp sight and you are excellent in realizing a situation. It only took you to stare at the object for 6 seconds and then solved it. I'd be happy to have you in Survey Corps" Erwin declaired. Levi just listened, he liked the 'praising' part.
"What was your surname again?" Asked Erwin.
"Ackerman"
"Well something tells me it's Rivaille" Erwin said. He crossed his arms.
"Whatever you want"
"You are easily the strongest, Rivaille. You must be flattered-"
"I'm not. Like I said, 4108 is pretty low" he stopped playing with the dagger and looked at Erwin straight in the eyes. His eyes were cold and dark. Erwin sighed.
"Very well then, Levi Rivaille. How does assigning you as squad captain for the Special Operations Squad sounds?" Erwin asked with a thin smile. Levi leaned back and shrugged.
"What should it sound like?" Levi asked looking at the door and throwing his dagger straight at the middle making him smile thinly and mischievously when he heard some guards yelp . Erwin stared at the dagger and smiled. The dagger went deep.
"I see" Erwin muttered.

"No reason to be afraid little girl. Com'on have fun with me" the guy cooed further. Levi looked a bit ticked when Mikasa didn't punch the guy or anything.
Jesus I should really be training them hand to hand combat
"Come on, let's have some fun" the guy held her waist and whispered in her ear making her shudder at his warm breath. She tried to pull away but failed as the grip on her was tighter.
"You're disgusting!" She snapped.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure that arse of yours won't go to waste" the guy squeezed her butt making Mikasa punch the dude but he still didn't let go of her. That was it, it was too plain dirty.
"Get the fuck away from my rookie"Levi snapped, Mikasa looked surprise when she saw him there and tried to pull the guy away, but he wouldn't budge. The guy narrowed his eyes on Levi.
"Who the fuck are you?" The guy asked.
"A death god. I'll break your bones one by one if you won't leave her now"Levi threatens. The boy laughed.
"That's so scrary, maybe I would kiss her right now, you know" the guy's lips went to Mikasa's neck while Mikasa tried to get him away from her, heck it made Levi angry. He thinks I'm joking?
Levi turned his shoulders and punched the guy making him go to bed early than expected. His body layed at the ground and Levi tisked. He glared back at Mikasa, boy was he disappointed to not see her in defend herself.
"Are you crazy? Are you seriously going to let that bastard get into you?" Levi scolds.
"I-I don't feel good" Mikasa stammered. That angry look on Levi's face quickly changed into a confused face. That was when he realized that her lips were paler. Did I scare the life out of her when I said I was a death god?
Levi was not in his right mind at the time, damn red wines. He noticed the dress she was wearing. It looked so good on her, it shined, she shined. He was left dumbfounded
"You look beautiful for the first time" he unconsciously said, gaining a strange look from Mikasa.
"That didn't go the way I wanted it to meant- I mean- you do look beautiful but not like thi- I mean.. ugh!" he sighed frustrated. Mikasa smirked.
"You're drunk" she bickered.
"How would you know?" Levi raised an eye brow.
"Eren told me you were talkative when you're drunk" Mikasa rolled her eyes. Oh the brat said that?
Silence.
"Do you feel fine now?" Levi asked. It was a long pause before Mikasa opened her mouth.
"Yeah, I gues-" Mikasa stumbled on her feet. Rely on fast reaction, Levi held her waist before it actually hits the ground. Mikasa's face turned red. She looked at his eyes then to his lips cause she can't stand his gaze.
They stared at each other, unconscious that their faces were getting closer and closer till it was dangerously close that their nose almost touched.
"Oi, heichou- oops, my bad" Hanji realised her bad timing. Levi cursed beneath his breath and lets go of Mikasa.
"What do you want?" Levi snapped at Hanji. She went near Mikasa to check on her. Her keen eyes could see she was not good in a flash.
"You look so pale, did you eat?" Hanji asked, concerned. Levi crossed his arms and just watched the girls then back at the sleeping guy, double checking. Hanji placed the back of her hand on her neck.
"You're hot! Are you okay Mikasa?" Hanji yelped.
She's hot, you stupid glasses, of course she's not okay
"I am feeling a bit off" Mikasa replied. Somewhere in Hanji's mental world, her eyes sparked.
"Well, if that's the case, then your captain Levi here wouldn't mind taking you home, now would he?" she smirked looking at Levi. "And besides, you hate the crowd"
He shrugged, it was better than wasting his precious time on watching all those stupid childrens dance to their death. Also, he could finish his paperworks.
"Ackerman" Levi called and Mikasa nodded. She followed him to where his horse was parked. He took his horse and climbed in it and looked down at Mikasa. If he could only tell someone how good he felt feeling taller than the brat. He reached his hand for her to grab but she slapped it away. She was able to get on, but it exerted a lot of energy.
"Wrap your arms around my waist" he said looking over his shoulders. Mikasa raised a brow.
"Well if you want some broken bones, then I won't force you" Levi looked away. He rubbed the horse's hair and then felt two warm arms go around his waist.
"H-hey, you're drunk right? Shouldn't you not be riding?" Mikasa muttered and her hot breath reached his neck making his spine shrudder.
"I'm not wasted, I'm not even tipsy woman"

Rumors spread about the newest and the strongest captain and it became the talk of the people. They said it was 'humanity's strongest'. Levi scoffed hearing two guards talk about him, they only know his name not how he looked like that's why they ignored Levi's presence at the corner of the room. He was waiting for Erwin.
"They said his test results went about 7000" the first guard said. Levi closed his eyes and breathed, lies.
"No way, I only got 765 in mine!" The other replied.
"I wonder how this Levi looked. Maybe he looks very mascular and scary"
"Yeah! and maybe has some tattoos to make him look badass" the other one retorted. Levi scoffed, tatoos would only pamper his skin. There was nothing 'clean' about having tatoos. Erwin came inside and the two guards saluted and Erwin waved a hand at them.
"Why isn't that man saluting?" the first one said, he reffered to the man on the corner of the room
"Dunno, maybe some asshole who thinks he can screw around" the other one shrugged.
Idiots. Levi thought.
"Levi, come and meet your new squad" Erwin called. Like stood up and followed Erwin outside, giving the two guards one last glare before walking out. Who knows what happened to the two? Maybe they surprised their shits to death. So much for the asshole who thinks he could screw up.
He followed Erwin to another room where there were 3 man and a woman talking to each other, looking very excited to meet their captain.
"Yeah, and Hanji said we are having the strongest captain as captain! I can't wait to meet him" the girl sounded beyond excited.
"Ha! I bet I'm stronger than that man" the older man said.
Erwin cleared his throat. Levi leaned on the wall looking he doesn't feel the same with the cadets. He didn't care.
"Cadets, this is Levi Rivaille. He will be your team captain. I hope that you would all get along just fine."
"Levi, Hanji will be here any minute to discuss to you what you and your subordinates will be staying" Erwin said before leaving him alone with the troop.
Levi breathed, still leaning on the wall. He glared at them. Guess, he was nothing near what they expected. Except for the scary part, he did look scary.
"S-so your Le- I mean captain Levi? It's a pleasure to meet you heichou! Is it true that you scored over four thousand in the final test? Isn't that just amazing?!" Petra stood amazed.
"Shh! Keep the questions later, Petra" Gunter scolded making her pout. "Fine!"
"But you look shorter tha-" Olu was got off. A dagger was threw giving him a trim on the hair. He paled, touching his hair. They all looked shocked then looked at Levi who turned his back on them.
"Don't say something you'll regret afterwards" Levi said coldly.
"H-hai!" Olu shaked in fear. The doors opened in a bust.
"Sorry I'm late! I'm Hanji, the captain and the one responsible for *yawns* for research on titans" Hanji said without even waiting for Levi to speak. She looked younger, but her hair was still looked messy but in a pony tail style and the dark circles in her eyes looked bigger.
"Nice to meet you all!" She smiled maniacly at them.

Levi had to carry Mikasa on his back because of too much tiredness, despite his height. There were no doctors nor people in the hide out left as everyone else was on the ball.
He layed Mikasa on her bed and checked the first aid kit for any medicine. She was probably stressed from too much cleaning. He did make her clean the eastern dorms that made her wake up too early for his liking. He had to call it off.
"Shit" he cursed dropping some of the capsules accidentally. The two were awkwardly quiet.
"Take this" he handed her some pain killers and fever relievers and a glass of water. After she did, she fell fast asleep on the bed. He stared at her, lately, admired her beauty. He sighed and went back to his office, but he couldn't do the paperworks, not if Mikasa's face was everything his mind could ever think off. So in the end, he went back to her room and guarded her. Heck, why was he even guarding her? They were the only ones in the hide out.
"Fucking Hanji" he swore. He ran his fingers in his hair. He almost kissed his rookie back there, which he regreted. Regret was a strong word for him. He drank some wine taken from the kitchen on his way back to the infirmary.
He heard her growl.
"Ackerman?"
"Levi.." she muttered with her eyes closed.
And for the first time in all his life, his heart skipped a beat.
