"She specifically tells the reader to check the nameplate. She would only have written that if she knew the nameplates had been switched." Kyoko tells everyone.
<NON STOP DEBATE-MAKE YOUR ARGUMENT>
"But... why would she switch them in the first place?" Junko asks
"She wanted someone to come to the room she was in, and also hide the fact that it was Makoto's room," Kyoko explains
"What...?" Makoto questions her
"Inviting someone to "your" room, but not telling them you'd switched rooms... Why would anyone do that?" Chihiro asks
"To understand that... we first need to understand what happened after she invited the person into the room." Kyoko says
"What happened then was... probably... Whoever she invited over... come in, and... attacked her!" Ishimaru exclaims
"We figured it out! We know who did it! Whoever she invited over is the culprit!" He shouts
"But we still don't know who it is, ya goddamn idiot..." Mondo reminds him
<Celeste-COUNTER: Let me change the odds of the gamble>
"Sayaka fought with her killer there in the room, yes? Perhaps the answer to our previous question lies in that initial struggle." Celeste suggests
"Yes, I think you're right," Kyoko tells her.
"Then... we just have to figure out what happened during the fight, right!?" Aoi asks
"That reminds me... There was a replica sword at the murder scene. Was that perhaps used during the fight?" Sakura wonders.
"Oh yeah, what's the deal with that sword?" Aoi asks.
"Sayaka suggested I should hold on to it. I thought it might come in handy if I had to defend myself..." Makoto explains.
"It seems pretty likely that the killer used it to break Sayaka's right wrist." Kyoko concludes.
"How the hell could you possibly know that's what broke her wrist!?" Leon asks her.
"All you have to do is take a good look at her broken wrist, and it should become pretty clear. Right there where her wrist is all swollen, there's something glittery there, see?" Makoto tells him
"Is... is that gold?" Chihiro asks "It sure is. Specifically, the gold coating from the replica sword. You barely have to touch that stuff and it'll stick right to you. And there's some on her wrist because..." Kyoko trails off
"I got it! Because she got hit with the sword, right there on her wrist!" Ishimaru concludes
"I see, I see... And so the truth draws ever closer..." Hifumi murmurs.
"Alright! Then it's about time to solve this mystery!" Yasuhiro says
"When the fighting broke out the culprit grabbed the sword. And that's when the first blow was dealt! A sword-based sneak attack!" He claims
<Makato-COUNTER: No that's wrong.>
"How can you know that just by looking at her palms?" Ishimaru asks him
"Like I said before, the gold coating on that sword comes right off. All you have to do is touch it. In fact, if you look you'll notice that a lot of the gold has already come off the handle. It's safe to assume that's because whoever used the sword got some of it on their hands. So there's really no way she could have picked it up and come away completely clean." Makoto explains
"Maybe she w-washed her hands after she e-escaped into the bathroom..." Tokosays
"Sorry, but I don't think so." Kyoko tells her
"Why d-do you say that? Is it b-because you think I'm u-ugly...?" Toko asks her
"Yes, that might be the reason she has said that " Kenta replied to her without a concern
"C-Coming from m-master has m-made it even b-better he-he " Toko muttered to herself.
"What's with the kink-shaming," Hifumi said curiously about that, as usual he is ignored
"You see, according to the Monokuma File, Sayaka's time of death was around 1:30 a.m. In other words, at "nighttime." And the water in the bathrooms shuts off at nighttime, right?" Makoto explains
"Oh... I didn't know that. Actually... I haven't taken a shower here yet..." Toko admits
"That's... Wow..." Junko mutters with a disgusted expression.
"Disgusting " Kenta and Byakuya both replied in exact time
"Anyways... So we now know that the fight started with an attack from the knife. The katana was then picked up and used as a defensive impulse, which caused the sheath to be damaged as the sword couldn't be unsheathed in time. After that, the katana was then used to break Sayaka's wrist. Which would cause her to flee into the bathroom... where she was killed..." Ishimaru summarizes everything that has been recently discovered
"Which would mean that... Sayaka was the one who attacked first." Kyoko tells everyone
"...S-Sayaka!?" Makoto exclaims
"Now do you understand? She wasn't a blameless victim in this." Kyoko tells him
"Finally it's done. We have wasted a lot of time " Kenta replied.
"No, far from it. It's almost as if... she had been planning to commit a murder of her own." Byakuya says.
"Indeed... these are all the actions of an assailant." Sakura exclaims
"Which brings up another point... Makoto, Sayaka was the one who suggested you two switch rooms, correct?" Celeste asks
"Y-Yes...." Makoto answers.
"Maybe the reason she wanted to switch rooms... was so that she could pin the crime on you. That is a possibility, is it not?" Celeste suggests
"Sayaka wanted to-! On me!?" Makoto exclaims with shock plastered on his face.
"You are a lost soul Makato. I think even hifumi at this rate is a better than you. That would also explain why she would switch the nameplates. She wanted to get whoever she had targeted to come to Makoto's room, where she was staying... And by committing the murder there, instead of her room, that would implicate Makoto. " Kenta summarizes
"But for that to work, the target had to be lured out while still keeping the room swap a secret. If the target knew she had switched rooms, they would have become suspicious right away." Ishimaru mentions
"So all that's why she switched the names...?" Aoi mutters
"But doesn't that plan seem a little risky? For one thing, even if her plan worked, Mr. Naegi would just tell everyone they'd switched rooms." Hifumi says
"I don't know... I'm not sure our softhearted Makoto is capable of that kind of cutthroat behavior. I'm sure Sayaka realized the same thing, which is why out of all of us, she asked him to switch rooms." Byakuya says
"Precisly. You are just a tool to her in the end " Kenta told the hard cold truth to makato
"...."
"P-Plus...she was the Ultimate Pop Sensation. A t-totally forgettable kid, o-or a national superstar... Who are you m-more likely to believe?" Toko says
"Toko shut up. You aren't the right person to say that " Kenta told Toko
"O-Okay. M-Master " Toko obeyed kenta
"I am jealous." Celeste replied in a tone which might be taken in two different ways.
"Wait, then... you're saying she had this all planned out...?" Ishimaru questions
"Holy shit!" Mondo exclaims
"But in the end, her plan backfired. She launched her attack with the knife, then found herself under attack in turn. That must be when her wrist was broken, and she was forced to drop the knife. The tables were suddenly turned on her, and she died at the hands of the one she'd planned to murder..." Kenta says as a grin appears on his face.
. "What a pitiful end..." "J-Just hold on! That can't be true! Because...! Because..." Makoto begins
"Because Sayaka didn't write the note!" He exclaims
"Oh really now?" Byakuya asks with an expression of disbelief.
"Then who, pray tell, wrote the note?" He asks Makoto
"The person who actually wrote that note was... Kenta!" Makoto claims as he points towards the boy.
"Huh? Could you run that by me again?" Kenta requests
. "Wait a second. You're saying that Kenta wrote that note? There's no way!" Junko says to Makoto with a seemingly surprised expression.
"Seriously? Don't be ridiculous. You've never even seen my handwriting before." Kenta claims with confidence. He couldn't understand Makato's baseless claim
"Yeah. Why would he even do something like that?" Aoi asks Makoto
"I think he knew all about the murder. It's just a feeling that he is the one who have caused it." Makoto says
"What about it?" Chihiro asks
"(Shit. I made a mistake. Now everyone is looking at me like a fool )" Makato thought inside
"That can wait till after the trial. We still have to find the culprit." Kyoko reminds everyone
"B-But..." Makoto murmurs.
"Makoto, right now you just need to concentrate on figuring out the answer to this mystery. If we can't uncover who murdered Sayaka, it's over for all of us..." Kyoko tells him
After failing to provide proof to prove his point further. Makato has lost a deep mystery that happened in the academy. Hence this started his downfall of hope
"Well, It's easy just to say, "Hey, decide who did it!" But there just aren't any more clues, right?" Leon asks everyone.
"Very well! Then let's review all the clues we've found up to this point one more time!" Ishimaru suggests
"Do we really have time for all that...?" Yasuhiro asks
"D-Die... Die! If we don't d-do something... we're all g-gonna die!" Toko says
"There still might be one clue left- Sayaka's dying message." Makoto says
"Dining- wait, what did you say?" Leon asks him
"The dying message. She wrote something on the wall behind her. It was 11037, written in her own blood. I'm sure that there's a clue about the killer hidden in there." Kenta tells everyone
Kenta said not wanting them to waste another chapter arguing.
