Lyrics:
Hope dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Winding in and winding out
The shine of it has caught my eye
And roped me in
So mesmerizing, so hypnotizing
I am captivated I am
Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
I swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself
So clear
Like the diamond in your ring
Cut to mirror your intentions
Oversized and overwhelmed
The shine of which has caught my eye
And rendered me so isolated, so motivated
I am certain now that I am
Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
I swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself
So turn
Up the corners of your lips
Part them and feel my finger tips
Trace the moment, fall forever
Defense is paper thin
Just one touch and I'd be in
Too deep now to ever swim against the current
So let me slip away [3x]
So let me slip against the current
So let me slip away [4x]
I am, Vindicated
I am selfish
I am wrong
I am right
I swear I'm right
I swear I knew it all along
And I am flawed
But I am cleaning up so well
I am seeing in me now the things you swore you saw yourself
Slight hope
It dangles on a string
Like slow spinning redemption
Meaning: I feel like this song is about someone who is confused or doesn't fully accept they did any thing wrong. He is hopeful that they can work it out and is willing to start over. I think the second verse, about the ring, might show that she wants to get married and he maybe feels "overwhelmed". It makes scared probably and he just wasn't ready for that. It's hard to tell, but I think the 3rd part is about how he changed his mind and he's telling her to be happy now. Telling her to remember the moment "for forever".
Moral: Love may seem right, then the next moment it could be the opposite. Don't give because of a little argument, but if you guys want totally different things (i.e. Kids, marriage, different styles of music or taste in t.v. shows, etc.) don't be afraid to tell someone that you feel different. Who knows, maybe it could improve the relationship.
Remember to comment!!! It is truly interesting to hear what other people think of these songs and I would LOVE suggestions! Leave a like, too!
