Indigo's POV

Waking up I hear people whispering, but I cannot make out who they are. My eyelids feel heavy, and my throat feels so dry. Finally, I'm able to open my eyes and I see Doc, Felicia, and Buster are the voices I'm hearing. "What happened?" I croak out.

Buster turns to grab me some water and I gladly take some. "Do you remember our conversation last night?" He asks me gently.

"Umm," My brain feels so foggy, "you were telling me what Felicia said?" I phrased more as a question.

Felicia stepped forward then and answered before Buster could, "Yes, Buster said when he was explaining things you got to upset and Doc had to sedate you."

It came crashing back to me. He wasn't letting me have a choice. "Buster wasn't letting me have a choice."

"Indi it wasn't about taking your choices away. We just want to be certain you are safe, and you are able to heal the best you can." Felicia calmly explained. I could see Buster behind her. He looked so lost.

"Buster said you had already decided on my treatment and that I need to go on anti-depressants and lots of therapy." I explained what I remembered.

"Indi, it was what I was recommending it. We would talk about these things with you before confirming what we are going to do. You get a choice here, but if I feel you are a danger to yourself then we will have to seek and inpatient treatment option." Felicia told me.

"I'm sorry I made it seem like you didn't have a choice Little Bird. I do not want to rule over you, I promise." Buster slowly came closer to me and held his hand out to me, waiting for me to allow the contact.

I grasped his hand causing him to smile at me. I turned my attention back to Felicia, "I don't want to go on any meds." I told her firmly.

"Okay, for now we will forgo that, but based on how things go it made me a subject we bring up again as an option." Felicia reasoned with me, I nodded showing my acceptance. "I do however believe some intensive therapy for the next couple of months will make a big difference for you," I went to argue but she held her hand up to stop me. "I know you have been living a life outside of that house since you were 18 and have a job. You are still struggling with guilt and escaping that place in your mind. Physically you were gone but in some ways, you were still in that house mentally. You deserve to have a full and thriving life. You were raised in a prison of sorts and the attachments you should have first formed were skewed by their behavior. You did the biggest thing of all Indi, you survived. Now we want to help you to thrive. Give therapy a try for the next couple of months and then we can talk and see where you're at then."

Buster was looking at me with big hopeful eyes. I heaved a sigh, "Okay, 2 months and then we talk."

"Excellent, I'm going to talk to a friend of mine and see if she has the time to give you. She has her own practice here in Tyler." With that Felicia left the room and was closely followed by Doc.

"I really am so sorry Little Bird. I didn't mean to upset you so much." Buster pleaded with me. "I promise to give you a choice always unless it is regarding your safety. I'm sorry I just can't compromise that."

"Buster, I'm sorry I didn't really give you a chance to explain before I lost it on you. We still have a lot to learn about each other, but as you've already figured out choices are very important to me. We're bound to have disagreements, but we'll figure things out in time." I assured him.

"Well Little Bird, Doc said physically you are set to leave the medic room. How about we start this afternoon with trying to learn more about each other? We can have a picnic out in the field?" Buster asked me with a smirk.

"Hmmm I'm not sure I'll have to check my calendar and see, maybe I can pencil you in?" I joked with him. His face fell at first but then he began to laugh along with me.

"Oh, there is definitely more to you Little Bird that I cannot wait to discover." He squeezed my hand. "I have to go to church, but Tequila and Cass are going to come help you get up to my room for a shower."

"That sounds amazing." I said honestly. I had to of began to smell by now, Doc said Cass gave me a sponge bath after I first got here, but nothing makes you feel more human than a nice long hot shower.

Buster's POV

Hawk just finished explaining what he learned from talking to Cleo last night. We were all shocked by the news that Hawk's dad had another child that none of us knew about.

"For all we know there could be even more kids out there at this rate." Axel groaned.

"Yea, let's hope not." Hawk said dryly.

"I think we all can agree to that, but how are we going to help Rebel?" Ink asked.

"I spoke with Red," Screw spoke up, "You were right it was the Devil's Son's MC that had her." I cursed under my breath at that.

"We should have dealt with them when everything with you dad happened." Tank argued.

Hawk glared at him, "Majority rules tank. Plus, we were dealing with a dividing club. Do you really think I don't regret going after them now? Rebel could be here and safe with us, but instead she's only God knows where." Tensions were rising quickly.

"Let's all calm down. Arguing about what we should have done won't help us right now. We need a plan for now." Gage pointed out.

"Gage is right," Hawk said after taking a deep breath to calm down.

"How about we send up a couple of guys to go scout them out?" Trip suggested.

"I'll go." Ink offered.

"As much as I hate splitting us up right now, we don't have a choice. Rebel needs us, but we still have the threat of Drake out there. Ink and Tank will go over to Little Rock and gather information only. Do not engage with them." Hawk ordered.

"Why do you think he kept her a secret?" Blade spoke up.

"Maybe she was some sort of insurance policy or a way to build more connections with another MC." Axel suggested. "You know marry her off to someone and form an alliance. He only looked at Hawk as his heir. Someone to take over his legacy. That man was incapable of love." He spat out the last bit.

"Regardless, she's blood and we take care of blood." Hawk was firm.

"What if he's poisoned her against us? You know like Axel said, an insurance policy." Blade argued.

"Then we proceed with caution. Vet her to be sure. We can bring Felicia in to help if he's poisoned her against us." Hawk states. "We're helping her. For now, get the recon on the Devil's Son's and we'll decide what to do from there." Hawk ended the meeting then. I saw Ink and Tank going up to him, but I didn't not want to be caught up in that right now. I had a date to prepare for me and my Little Bird.

Flame was at a table in the bar eating when I came out of church. I made a bee line for her knowing she was the perfect person to help me. She smiled when she saw me. "Hey Buster, there's still some leftovers in the kitchen from breakfast."

"That's not what I'm after Flame, I want to take Bird for a picnic." I explained.

She squealed and clapped her hands. "Perfect! Indi is going to love that!"

"I hope so," I told her with a smile that I'm sure looked like a goofy one.

"It's great seeing you smile again." Flame told me with a serene expression. "I think you are just what Indi needs to help her."

"Thanks Flame, I thought maybe you could help give me some direction on what would be good to take to eat." I asked hopefully.

She pushed herself up and grabbed my hand dragging me towards the kitchen leaving her food behind forgotten, which is impressive because she's been eating a lot. Suddenly she let out a loud 'OH!' and made a U-turn still dragging me behind her. She grabbed her sandwich and took a bite and sighed happily. Now that's more her normal right now, I had to fight not to chuckle at her antics as she now brought us to the kitchen.

"Alright, we've got a few things to do." Flame began opening the cabinets and pulling all sorts of ingredients out and my eyes got bigger and bigger. Maybe she's forgotten I was wanting to take Indi on a picnic and is just trying to satisfy one of her cravings now?
