Axel held Alora's hand as they exited the plane, They quickly got into the black-tinted car which waited for them. Cameras flashed as the car drove off quickly.
"Camera's again" Alora huffed out
"Life of a famous businessman" Axel winked
Alora raised an eyebrow playfully
"And his wife to be of course" Axel added
"Would you like to stop somewhere and eat first before seeing my cousin?" Axel asked
Alora thought to herself for a few seconds
"Wouldn't your cousin be waiting for us?" Alora asked
"I travelled here by surprise," Axel said winking
Alora giggled and nodded
"Let's get something to eat first," Alora said
"au bon restaurant" (to good restaurant) Axel said to the driver
"sera là bientôt monsieur" (will be there soon sir) The driver replied
"Oh wow- I didn't know you spoke french" Alora said giggling
"Guess I'm going to have to teach you" Axel winked
Axel and Alora giggled while they drove through the streets of Paris. The drive wasn't long only seventeen minutes.
"nous sommes ici monsieur" (we're here sir) The driver said
"Merci" Axel said
"Merci" Alora said lowly
Axel and the driver chuckled at Alora's efforts. Alora rolled her eyes playfully and got out of the car.
"Wait for me!" Axel shouted
Axel got out of the car quickly as well.
"Don't do that Alora!" Axel said in a serious tone
"Do–what?" Alora said confused
"Don't leave without letting me know! What if something happened to you?!" Axel shouted
"I get that you're concerned but I only left the car–I stood here and waited for you," Alora said unsurely
"Whatever let's just go," Axel said sharply
Axel grabbed Alora's hand and sped walk into the restaurant.
A lady at the restaurant stopped the two from walking into the restaurant any further.
"Bienvenue" (welcome) She said
Axel looked at her and took a deep breath sharply to calm down before responding.
"Merci, je suis Axel Santiago. Nous avons besoin d'une table pour deux, s'il vous plaît."
(Merci, I'm Axel Santiago. We need a table for two, please. ) Axel said kindly
"Oh! Monsieur Santiago ! Mes excuses! S'il vous plaît, par ici !"
(oh! Mister Santiago! My apologies! Please right, this way!) The waitress said
Axel and Alora followed her from behind. She pointed at an empty table with silver chairs. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with roses and had beautiful chandeliers. The waitress placed two menus on the table and nodded before leaving.
Axel picked up one of the menus and opened it. He read it quietly. Alora looked up at him quickly before picking up the other menu. She opened and looked at the words. She noticed it was all in french but decided to settle for whichever one sounded the best to her.
Five minutes later the waitress came back with a small notebook and pen.
"es-tu prêt à commander maintenant" The waitress said
(are you ready to order now)
Axel looked at Alora
"I forgot the menu was in french, would you like me to translate it?" Axel asked
"No Axel—it's fine I already have something in mind that I'd like to order," Alora said
"Okay, what is it?" Axel asked
"Steak-Frites is fine," Alora said
"Okay, good choice Axel said"
"Pardon, peut-on avoir un steak-frites et un Bœuf Bourguignon ? S'il vous plaît et merci"
(Sorry, Can we get one steak-fries and one Bœuf Bourguignon? Please and thanks ) Axel said
The waitress giggled
"Bien sûr" (ofcourse) The waitress said as she wrote it down
The waitress walked away and Alora lightly hit Axel's arm.
"What the hell was that Axel?!" Alora said
"What was what?" Axel asked confused
"So you're flirting with her? Didn't you see the way she was giggling? Just because I can't speak french huh?" Alora said angrily
Axel looked at Alora surprised and in shock
"I wasn't flirting with her! I was ordering our food" Axel said sharply
The waitress came back and placed a bottle of red wine on the table as well as two wine cups.
"Serena please speak in English so my wife can understand what you're saying"
"My apologies Mrs.Santiago. This wine is a gift from the chef to congratulate your marriage." The waitress said
She left again
"How do you know her name?!" Alora asked
Axel let out a sigh and reached for Alora's hand but she pulled her hand away from Axel's reach. There was a look of hurt and disappointment on his face.
"Alora–I'm a businessman so I travel alot. I come to this restaurant every time I visit France so I know most of the staff." Axel said
Alora didn't say anything, she just looked at Axel.
"Let's just pour the wine," Alora said
"Alora?"
"Axel–Pour the wine please," Alora said
Axel swallowed the lump forming in his throat and opened the wine bottle. He poured wine into the two glasses quietly. Alora reached for the closest one and sipped on the wine quietly.
The waitress Serena finally came back with the food and placed them gently on the table.
"Enjoy," The waitress said
"Thank you," Axel said
Serena left and Alora quietly ate. Axel sighed and broke the silence.
"We're supposed to be happy and laughing Alora," Axel said
"I am happy Axel–Just feeling a little jet-lagged" Alora said before taking another bite
"Are you sure Alora?" Axel asked
Alora nodded
The two finished up with the food and Axel left money on the table.
"Come on Alora let's meet my cousin" Axel got up and took ahold of Alora's hand
They both walked out of the restaurant. Serena watched the two and scoffed before getting back to work. Axel and Alora back into the car and drove yet again through the streets of Paris, France.
"Are you nervous?" Axel asked
"Kind of–I can't believe I've met your family it feels so surreal," Alora said as she looked out the window
"They'll love you Alora, you're amazing," Axel said kissing Alora's hand
Alora blushed and smiled at Axel
"In all this excitement–it's a shame," Alora said
"What's a shame?" Axel asked
"I don't even have a family for you to meet," Alora said
Axel bit his tongue gently. He had forgotten to discuss with the Gravano's when they should reveal the secret to Alora.
"It's okay Alora. I love you and that's all that matters" Axel said trying to cheer her up
"I love you too Axel"
