Sanemi woke you up in the middle of the night saying you guys need to train, and you thought- 'who the fuck trains in the middle of the damn night?' as much as you wanted to go to sleep, you had to train in order to join the Demon Slayer Corps and save everybody from their doom, so you got up without any complaint.
You two headed to the backyard and saw Satō sitting on a rock in a criss-cross position, you and Sanemi headed over to where she was and stood in front of her, She stared at the two of you, eyes stern and cold.
'I'm going to be so awesome'
And those were her last words before she succumbs to despair and agony.

After a few 11 months of training you managed to catch up with Sanemi, He's still slightly stronger than you though but despite that you've changed a lot when it comes to stamina and strength. You and Sanemi also have gotten close throughout the months and you were absolutely proud of that not only you have Sanemi as your friend, he was also your second so you were very happy.
You never really had any genuine or long friendships since you never know how to deal with friends and it led you to feel distant and lonely everytime you hung out with your so-called friends but when Amy, Sanemi and other fictional characters came into your life you felt less lonely and Satō was like a nice mother you've always wish you had and it was nice to hang out with her. You cherished every moment you had with them.

You were chilling in the bedroom staring at the ceiling 'how nostalgic..' you thought to yourself.
You heard the shoji sliding open, you looked at the person who opened it and found Sanemi
You sat up and looked at him before giving him a close-eyed smile, "Hello Sanemi what is it?" You asked, Light pink tinted Sanemi's cheeks but was hard to see cause of the lantern lighting up the room.
He looked around and said- "can i chill in here with you?" He asked, 'Sanemi just said a slang..He definitely got that shit from me -'
"Yea sure" you happily agreed, he gulped and reluctantly headed to sit next to you. He sat down and looked around. 'this shit feels so intima- no (Y/N)! You and Sanemi are still young! Study comes first at an age like this!' you thought.
"So what you wanna talk about??" You asked the white haired boy. "Eh...About the Final Selection-" he nervously said, "oooh.... Are you worried I'll die or something? If you are then don't worry i won't die!" you replied, you weren't really worried about the Final Selection since you have to focus on training and being stressed of something that has to do with the future is very distracting. His face turned beet red "NO!! I wasn't worried about you!-" he stubbornly denied w but that was literally the whole point on why he wanted to talk to you, "oh really?~" you teased. "But seriously though i won't die! Pinky promise!" You said. Sanemi looked at your face the to your hand. He raised his hand and pulled out his pinky but he didn't link with yours yet. Not yet. "You promise..?" He hesitantly said, you hooked your pinky with his "I promise!!" You yelled out happily, you looked at him eyes filled with determination. He looked at you and returned the smile then tighten his pinky around yours.

It's now two years since you started training and the Final Selection was tommorow, It was night time and you were at the backyard stargazing. You loved the nighttime since it wasn't hot and bright. The grass swayed underneath your fingers , the trees and the crickets made a calming melody for your ears, it was peaceful. You softly smiled and layed down.
"What are you doing here? A lady like you should be sleeping at this hour.." a familiar voice spoke behind you, you sat up and turned around to find
Tsugikuni Yoriichi.
You stared at him for a long moment before you spoke, "Who are you? And how did you get here?" You questioned, pretending to be clueless feels so dumb and annoying but you gotta do it.
"I'm a ghost, child" he replied, your eyes slightly widened in fake shock. "But who are you?" You questioned once again. He smiled "My name is Tsugikuni Yoriichi, child" he softly and kindly replied as he walked up to you and sat down right next to you.

"What's your name?" Yoriichi asked once again, "My name is (L/N) (Y/N), Sir Tsugikuni" You replied back in the same tone Yoriichi gave you.
He chuckled, you looked at him confusedly, "what's so funny, Sir Tsugikuni?" You asked him genuinely confused this time. "You don't have to call me 'Sir Tsugikuni', You can call me Yoriichi." He answered, your face turned red and looked down "I just wanted to be polite.." you squeaked out, he chuckled once again and said- "well you don't have to, you don't have to shy, be yourself" he requested. You looked at him and nodded
'i love this man so much!' you thought.
"Okay!-" you said. "So Yoriichi..what brings you here?" You asked another genuine question. "Nothing i just thought i would give a little visit.." he answered, 'huh?' you looked ahead and watch the stars twinkle.
"The looks so beautiful am i right, Yorii-" you cut yourself off when you found no one next to you. "What the hell-"

You opened your eyes and and quickly got up which made your head dizzy and your eyesight dark for a moment, when the dizziness faded away you quickly went to Sanemi's room and aggressively slid the shoji open. You rushed towards to Sanemi and started to gently shake him since you don't want to piss him off, his eyes slowly opened revealing his pretty purple irises you were sometimes jealous of. He sat up and looked at you.

"It's time" you simply said.
You ran out of his room and hurriedly went to do your morning routine leaving him processing what you just said before calmly did his morning routines.

The three of you were outside of Satō's house preparing yourselves for the future events ahead of you. You were wearing a the same yukata Satō wore when you first met her and it felt ABSOLUTELY comfy and a vintage royal purple and white haori that has a delicate design that creates an overall ornate tile pattern, you absolutely felt magical. You never expected that Satō was also a double sword user but at the same time it does make sense. The blade of her sword was mint green and the handguard was a cute and pretty clover with four leaves. Her name was also carved on the blade. Awesome.
Satō looked at Sanemi and fixed his yukata and haori and gave him a few reminders and good wishes. She looked over your direction and headed towards you, she stared at you and proceeded to fix your appearance and also gave you a few tips. "Remember (Y/N) and Sanemi, don't panic when you're in battle if you don't want to die." She said coldly, you nodded in understanding. You two stared at your teacher, you ran up to her and gave her a sincere hug. "Goodbye mom." You farewelled, she was taken aback by your action and your words but returned the gesture afterwards. You pulled away and saw she had a melancholic smile on her face, you smiled and bid her you and Sanemi's goodbyes.

You looked around the gorgeous area around you with a fascinated face, the wisteria trees surrounding the whole area. In the anime it looked beautiful but in person? It looked MAGICALLY GORGEOUS. You heard the sound of a stem crack behind you, you turned around and saw Sanemi holding out a piece of wisteria. He was looking away with flushed cheeks.."Aww Sanemi what's this for?" You chuckled. "IT'S NOTHING, DON'T GET ANY WRONG IDEAS- I- I JUST THOUGHT THAT IT WILL MAKE YOUR UGLY FACE PRETTY" he yelled back. You chuckled and accepted the little gift he made for you. You put it on your hair since you thought it would look cool, you finished putting it on your hair and continued looking around. 'aight okay (Y/N), ahead of you is where the Final Selection will be and you gotta be ready! Don't be scared! Just like Dwayne Johnson said IT'S ABOUT DRIVE, IT'S ABOUT POWER, WE STAY HUNGRY, WE DEVOUR, PUT INTO WORK, PUT INTO HOURS AND TAKE WHAT'S OURS' You thought trying to calm your panicked brain. As you continued to think you didn't notice Sanemi staring at you, he couldn't help it though you looked beautiful with the wisteria on your head and those around you.
You looked enchanting.
As he continued to stare you noticed that you finally arrived. You immediately ran inside taking Sanemi out of his thoughts. He hurriedly followed you and halted in his traps since you stopped running. There were a lot of people.. some were confident and some were scared, such a shame they have to die though.
You heard the crowd went silent and heard a pair of footsteps walking towards you. You looked straight ahead and saw a woman with white hair and purple eyes, Ubayashiki Amane.
She clapped her hands to get everyone else's attention before speaking "Greetings my dear future slayers, Welcome to the Final Selection! You will be caged in a forest filled with demons, Your goal is to survive in seven days. With no one else to help you except for the people around you. So please prepare yourselves before going." Amane explained. She still looked the same for some reason. You looked at Sanemi and and then stared straight ahead, 'good luck me' you thought to yourself. You paused before running straight ahead into the darkness. Sanemi's eyes widened slightly at your will to go into the forest without any hesitance and trailed after you.
