December 30th, 10am
Zhongli stares out the window of his workplace. Something doesn't feel right...
It's 10am... Shouldn't Childe be here to hand me my mora? he thought. Zhongli figured that the harbinger could be busy and so continued on with his job.
Time went by quickly, the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour wasn't quite busy these days, so Hu Tao lets Zhongli off during the afternoon.
Zhongli heads straight over to the Northland Bank, in hopes of finding the ginger. All he got was,
'Master Childe? Haven't heard from him.' and 'Master Childe didn't come to work today.'
The most possible place he would be in is his home. And so Zhongli goes to the house where Childe temporarily lives in.
Zhongli knocks on the door. The door opens after a few seconds.
'Oh, Zhongli! Didn't expect to see you here! Haha...' Childe's laughing quickly turns into coughing,
'Childe, you seem to be a bit under the weather today, what happened?' Zhongli asks, concerned,
'Oh, this stupid fever, I can't go anywhere, I'm so tired...' Childe sighs,
'Wait here for a while.' Zhongli says before running off somewhere,
A few minutes later he came back. Medicine in hand.
'Zhongli... You bought medicine? With what mora?' Childe asks,
'Oh, the mora Hu Tao gave me earlier today.'
'What? You could've just asked me-' Childe starts coughing,
'Let's...Bring you to rest.' Zhongli says,
As Childe sits down on the couch, blanket covering him, Zhongli prepares the medicine.
'Open your mouth, Childe.' Zhongli says as he holds the spoon of medicine up to his mouth. Childe eats the medicine.
'Ugh, god dammit! The medicine is bitter!' Childe frowned,
'Here.' Zhongli smiles as he hands Childe a water bottle,
The ginger was obviously still upset, Zhongli noticed that, and so, he shuffled over to cuddle with Childe under the blankets.
Childe didn't want to say anything. For some strange reason, cuddling with Zhongli felt... nice.
'Please accept my apologies for laughing at you.' Zhongli muttered out,
'Haha.. Of course, of course...' Childe smiles, he wishes that this could last forever. 'Hey... What are we?'
'Hm?'
'Like what are WE? We do what couples do all the time, yet we are still friends...'
'Ah, that.'
'What's wrong?'
'It is just... I am not ready for such relationships. Of course, it would be nice, but you would move back to Snezhnaya soon, and I'm afraid I'd get too attached-' Childe hugs Zhongli.
'You don't need to think about that.' Childe cups Zhongli's face.
Zhongli then rests his head on Childe, sighing.
'Oh, by the way, happy birthday! Well, early birthday that is.' Childe says,
'Birthday... It is that time already?' Zhongli was shocked,
'Wow, I didn't think it was possible for one to forget their own birthday!' Childe laughs, 'Give me a second...' Childe rushes to a room and comes out with a box,
'Don't move so fast... You're still sick...' Zhongli warned,
'Here is your birthday gift!' Childe hands a box over to Zhongli,
Zhongli opens the gift, inside was dream solvents.
'These things are pretty rare, but I got one (from myself) to you! Aaaand... I know that you like to give gifts of appreciation to the traveller, so the extra one is for him!' Childe explains,
'Thank you.' Zhongli smiles,
'Actually, there is one last gift..' Childe smiles,
'What is i-' Childe gently pecks Zhongli on the cheek,
'Childe...' Zhongli blushes profusely,
'You look like a tomato!' Childe couldn't stop laughing, but stopped after noticing Zhongli pouting, he smiled as he embraces Zhongli.
'So... What are your plans for tomorrow?' Childe asks,
'Hmm... I have one thing in mind...' Zhongli says,

Paimon gasps, 'So many Liyue delicacies! Aether quick! Where do we start?!'
'Thanks for the food, Childe and Zhongli.' Aether says,
'No problem, comrade, take this as an apology for cancelling my birthday buffet all of a sudden.' Childe smiles,
'Yeah! You better!' Paimon says while muching on the food.
Childe smiles as he puts his hand on top of Zhongli's under the table. They ended up holding hands.
