12:30pm

Deep, heavy breaths appeared to be the most effective coping mechanism for Felix in that moment, because sharing the somewhat expected yet nerve-racking information that Chan was really Kai's biological father had to be one of the most challenging situations in his life after the delivery of his baby.

And standing there in front of Chan's office with the document in hand, he wanted to just turn back and lock himself at home without having to face such a mountain again but, he couldn't. So inhaling deeply, Felix knocked against the wooden door of the accountant's office, breath hitching when a soft, "Come in," was heard barely seconds after.

Hesitantly, he pushed the door open, unable to keep back a bright smile from his face at the way that Chan's dull eyes instantly lit up at his presence. "Hey," he hummed, strolling closer to the male's desk and, blushing when two strong arms embraced him before he could even take a seat at the front. "Happy to see you too."

"I really am." Chan chuckled, pulling away to make his way back to his own seat. But then he looked at Felix's hand, and at the sight of an already opened envelope that he assumed to be the justification of the younger's visit, he himself couldn't help but become nervous in his seat. "I'm guessing..."

"Yeah, the results. I'd ask to meet up after work but, I have a late shift today. And you didn't come by so since you told me where you work, I thought why not." Felix sighed, looking down and nipping at his lower lip after speaking. Spreading a small smile of reassurance as he slid the open envelop across the table, he nodded slowly, observing the shakiness in Chan's movements as he picked it up.

"Can you- Can you tell me before I open? This is- I'm scared. I don't even know why but- I'm nervous." Chan pouted, blinking back a few tears with the folded paper in hand, and he was almost certain that his sweaty palm had already started to mark it.

"Just open it, Chan," Felix smiled, nodding. "Open it."

Sighing, Chan unfolded the ink-lined paper, closing his eyes and inhaling deeply before reading from top to bottom. And sitting there, gazing forward at the account with a more relaxed look than before resting on his face, Felix couldn't help but smile even larger at the way that Chan's entire demeanor lifted at the printed results. He giggled at the new width of the older's eyes and, he sighed contently when tears of joy started their way down Chan's cheeks.

"What now?" Felix asked, teasing the other on purpose. Chuckling at Chan's speechlessness, he stood up in an attempt to make the first move, waddling to the other side of the table for a warm, friendly and accomplished hug at the older's back. "You're happy, right?"

"Felix, happy? Happy is an understatement, Felix. This is literally the best day of my life, no exaggeration." Chan sniffled, lifting one hand to meet Felix's around his neck whilst the other maintained firm grip on the document. "I- I don't even know what to say... When can I meet him? Like meet him to actually spend time with him? He could even spend work days with me sometimes instead of daycare... And sleepovers! He can spend the night sometimes-"

"Chan, slow down." Felix giggled, ruffling the older's hair before going back to his seat. "We need to get him comfortable with you before anything. He's three. It's a process, okay? And he's already all over my boyfriend so we have to help him understand who you are. And that might take a while..."

"Well... you're right," Chan nodded with a soft pout, lifting a hand to wipe his eyes and cheeks. "At least it's confirmed, you know? And I'm just so happy that I can finally be a fa- I'm happy that Kai is mine..."

"Yeah, I guess I'm happy too. But one thing I have to talk to you about though." Felix spoke cautiously, hesitantly continuing when Chan nodded for the rest of his speech. "Kai and my boyfriend have a really strong bond, you know? Kai has known him since he was about one, and they're like best friends honestly. So as much as you're his real dad, please don't try to like... pull them apart."

"I know-"

"No, I know you know. But I still have to say it. I just want to make sure that everything is in order, you know?" He smiled, satisfied with Chan's immediate understanding that showed just in the calm setting of his face. He looked handsome- But not the point. "And of course, I'll talk to him to make sure that Kai gets his fair share of time with you. I don't think that any court should be involved since you're already more than willing."

"I am, I really am. And I appreciate everything- From you actually telling me, to being willing to give me a chance with your child... I really do appreciate it. And I- I promise to be the best father that I can be." Chan smiled, childishly wiggling his toes to ease the restlessness of his insteps. "So, how does dinner tomorrow night sound? You, me, Kai? And your boyfriend if he's comfortable? We could have it at my place if he's coming along?"

"Sounds perfect. And I'm sure that Binnie would love to come." Felix smiled, happy with how things were going between him and Chan. "So you'll text me the address, and we'll be there at...?"

"Seven. Seven is good?" Chan suggested, blushing. "I'll also get a little present for Kai."

"Oh but, he's usually sleeping at that time." Felix chuckled with that line, shaking his head at the deeper shade of red coating Chan's ears and cheeks. "Come to think of it, I think a late lunch would be better. It's a Saturday, and Kai would obviously be wide awake. Neither of us usually work on Saturdays, so yeah. Can we do lunch instead?"

"No problem. You can come over at like four-thirty then. And as I said, I'll text you the address." Chan too, chuckled, glancing back down at document that he had rested on the table. "I might frame this."

"Oh please," Felix joked, standing to head out of the office. "Anyway... Have a good rest of the day. I'm going to head back to work before my lunch is up."

"Alright then," he handed the younger back the results, also standing to give a proper escort to the door. "Enjoy your day too. And please bring the paper over tomorrow so I can make a copy of it at home. I'd make it now but you're in a hurry."

"Okay... I will."

The View Apartments- Penthouse
9:30pm

"Channie," Amy called timidly, padding up to her fiancé's side on the couch where he was laying with glasses on and a magazine taking up the bulk of his attention. Sighing, she squeezed herself onto a slim spot near his stretched legs, gulping when his arms lowered themselves with the booklet, as well as his head to view her beautiful yet personally unlikable face without the lenses.

"Yes?" He responded unenthusiastically, unblinking eyes observing the obviously practiced shakiness in her demeanor. "What is it?"

"I- I have something to tell you," she mumbled, looking down at her fingers as they fiddled with the lace-styled hem of her nightgown. "I-"

"It's not mine."

"W-what?"

"It's not mine, Amy. And we both know that." Chan scoffed, shaking his head as he airily refocused on his magazine. "Now save me the trouble snd go pack your things to get out by morning."

"Chan, I'm confused. How, what, and why? And what do you mean by pack my things?" Amy questioned breathlessly, tears already brimming in her eyes at just the shallow thought of losing all of her borrowed luxury.

"Let me put it in simpler terms." Chan smiled sarcastically, shifting to lift his legs off of the sofa and ignoring the light bump that each gave her shoulder in the process. Resting both the article-like book and his glasses carefully on the coffee table, he faced Amy's direction; arms folded against his chest and, closed lips stretched up on either side to further discomfort her in their supposedly serious conversation.

"You are pregnant, I know. And it honestly took you long enough to come clean soberly. And I also figured that you'd want to act like it's my baby. Well news flash, I know that it's not my baby. So, pack your things, and get out. You can keep the ring if you want, I don't care. I wasn't even the one who bought it. So go pack up the few things that you came with, and move in with your man or whoever else fucked you."

"But-"

"My mother? Don't worry, she wouldn't mind when she finds out what a gold digger you really are, and how you cheated on her only child." Chan chuckled genuinely after the long awaited confrontation, and his laughter only grew at the look of pure shock forming on his ex-fiancé's face. Ignoring her distress, he spoke again. "Also, pack using only the bags that you came with. Don't go using my suitcases to fit all the clothes and stuff that you bought here. I don't care what you do with them, but do not touch what belongs to me."

"Chan," Amy sniffled, standing up. "Chan, why are you being like this?"

"Amy cut the bullshit," Chan scoffed, eyes rolling sideways. "You cheated on me, and I'm sure you spilled my secret to all of your little sluts too. So don't come here playing the victim. I said pack your things and get out, so you pack your damn things and get out of my fucking house!"

"Where is this coming from?" She gulped, head aching at her intended followup question that'd undoubtedly bring confirmation to all of Chan's claims. But it didn't matter anymore because, his mind was made up. And she could see that. "How'd you find out...?"

"You shouldn't get drunk when you're pregnant."
