It was the next day two days before Christmas and Meredith was sitting at the kitchen table finishing some Extra paperwork while Derek was out with the boys and the brothers-in-law, the twins were asleep and Ellis was playing with Zoey in the living room where Lizzie was.
After Meredith finished her paperwork she went to go check on the twins, went into their room and saw that they were both asleep. She went back out and into the triplet's room and picked up some of their dirty clothes and threw them in a laundry basket, she took some of their clean clothes and packed them in their bags because they would be going back home soon.
She brought the laundry basket into the twin's room and put their dirty clothes in the laundry basket and brought it into the laundry room, she threw the dark dirty clothes into the washer and closed it before putting in some laundry detergent and laundry softener.
As the laundry washed she started to hear one of the twins crying, she went down the hall to their room. She opened the door and saw Daphne crying. She picked up Daphne and sat down in the rocking chair, she unbuttoned her dress unclasped her bra and fed Daphne. After Daphne was fed she changed her diaper and dressed her into a pretty white dress coat with little white socks, she continued to hold her in her arms as she went to go check on the laundry. she then went into the living room and sat down on the couch as she watched Zoey and Ellis play.
"Baby si-ster?" Ellis asked as she pointed to Daphne looking at Meredith.
"Da, this is your baby sister" Meredith smiled as she looked at the resemblance between Ellis and Daphne.
"Derek?" She asked as she went back to play with Zoey.
"Derek will be home soon," Meredith said as Ellis nodded her head unsurely.
After around 30-40 minutes Meredith heard the front door open and Derek, the husbands, and kids walk through the door
"We're home" Derek sighed as he leaned down to kiss Meredith on the lips.
"I see," Meredith said as she saw the triplets running around.
"What'd you do, give them sugar?" She laughed a bit as she saw the boys running around in circles.
"They wanted ice cream after playing in the snow, I tried saying no but when I did Devereux started pouring, Matthew started throwing snowballs at me, and Sullivan kicked me," Derek said scratching the back on his head.
"Yea, I've never seen three one year's olds beat up a grown man" Chris laughed, he held little Alice on his hip as she clung onto him.
"Yea, let's just hope the twins will be different as they get older" Derek said as he kissed Daphne's cheek making her giggle.
"Where's Eloise?" He asked
"She's still asleep," Meredith said
"I'll go check on her" Derek said as he kissed Meredith and Daphne on the cheek and went to go check on Eloise.
"How's the Russian one?" Chris asked as he sat down next to Meredith, earning a glare from Lizzie as she fed Alice a bottle.
"Don't call her that" Meredith said as she gently patted Daphne on the back.
"Right sorry, how's Ellis?"
"She's doing good, she's learning some English which is good"
"She and Zoey seem to get along," he said looking at the two.
"Yea, it's good she has someone her age"
"She'll fit in well," he said as he kissed walked over to Lizzie and kissed her on the lips then kissed Alice on the forehead then went into the kitchen.
"She's awake," Derek said as he came and sat next to Meredith holding Eloise.
"The least you could have done was change her," Meredith said as she switched baby's with Derek and went back into the twin's nursery to feed Eloise.
"So..Meredith says you want more kids?" Lizzie said as she watched Derek play with Daphne's little hand.
"She's so small, isn't she?" Derek said smiling down at her.
"Derek, did you even hear what I said?" Lizzie laughed a bit
"No sorry, what did you say?" He asked looking up at Lizzie
"Meredith said you want more kids" she repeated herself, leaning back into the seat.
"Oh, yea. I do" he said then looking back at Daphne
"You already have six" she smiled
"That's true, but I've always wanted a lot of kids"
"Six isn't a lot?"
"Yea, to some. But compared to how Meredith grew up six is a small number"
"How does Meredith feel about more children?"
"She says that she doesn't want anymore at the moment, but we'll wait till the twins are older than see if we still want more"
"Okay, more shepherds it is"
"What are your kid's last names?" Lizzie asked
"Shepherd, but Daphne has grey shepherd in her name"
"Really?" Carolyn asked as she came into the living room, sitting down next to Lizzie looking at Alice.
"Yes, her middle name is grey and her last name is shepherd"
"So how will people know their Meredith's if her last name is grey and you and the kids are shepherds?" She asked
"Because they all look like Meredith," a male voice said coming through the door as Nancy and her kids followed behind
"Deluca" Derek whispered under his breath
"Hey, Derek!" Andrew said as he hit the back of Dereks head
"What the hell kind of "hi" is that?" Derek said rubbing the back of his head.
"My kind," he said smiling
"Ma, can you protect Daphne as I go talk to Meredith?" Derek asked as he placed Daphne in his mother's arms and went to go see Meredith.
"Hey," he said walking into the nursery
"Hey!" She said surprised as she pulled her dress up a bit to cover Eloise but soon let it back down as she saw it was only Derek.
"Is everything okay?" She asked as Derek sat down on the chair next to her as he watched Eloise eat.
"Yea" he sighed "do you really think Eloise looks like me?" He asked as he looked up at Meredith
"Yes" she giggled as she looked back at him
"Why wouldn't she?" She asked
"Andrew said all the kids look like you"
"They do," she said as he looked back up at her
"Derek, all our kids look a bit like me and a bit like you. Devereux has your hair and your eyes, but he had more of my personality and softness. Matthew looks like me but he likes to do the same things you do, he likes building and fixing things and he's starting to get light blue eyes. Sullivan looks the most like me out of the boys, he has my blonde hair and my green eyes, but he loves..to play rough as you do, I think we're going to have to put him in karate or something. Eloise had your hair and your eyes, but she had my face. Daphne has my blonde hair and green eyes and looks the most like Sullivan, but I'm sure she'll be one of those little girls who love to wear dresses and bows but will also love to play rough with her older brother and will want to follow in his footsteps" Meredith smiled as she went on about how to kids are a mix of the both of them.
"And Ellis?" He said
"Ellis isn't biologically your, she looks most like me. But the one thing I've noticed about her that is a lot like you is she cares a lot about the people she loves and she takes that to heart, if someone insults her she doesn't care unless it's from someone she loves which is a lot like you. If someone hurt someone she loves she'll take it personally and hurt that person back as you do" Meredith said
"So even Ellis is like me?" He asked
"Yes," she laughed as she ran her thumb over his cheek, his face softening as they spoke about their children.
"Ellis may not be yours biologically, but she is yours if you treat and see her as yours. And I do hope that you won't see Ellis any different than you do Eloise and Daphne" she said
"I won't, I know some Russian so that helps. But I do want to help her learn more English and she seems to really love the kids, and she is six turning seven next year in January so..she'll be old enough to watch the kids with my mother so we can have more alone time" he smirked as he kissed her on the lips, running his hand down her side as he gripped her thigh. Slowly bringing his hand between her legs under her skirt,
"Not in front of the baby" she whispered as she pulled away.
"Fine" he sighed as he stood up. " I'll go check on the boys since Andrew and Nancy are back" he aid walking to the door
"You do that," she said as he left the room.
