"jungwon?" Soyeon says while Misun's back is facing me.
She slowly turns around. Our eyes meet and we keep the contact until one of us breaks it.
And so she does.
I ignore Soyeon, but she speaks again, "C-can we talk...? it's important." she says
Oh my god. I'm not your boyfriend, just leave me alone. I replied in my head
"Why?" i ask.
Misun turns back around, continuing to eat her lunch.
Soyeon's tone in voice was the same as always. She makes it higher and soft for no reason, it's so obvious that it's forced. Why can't she speak normally to me like how she does with the others?
She looks down, "I feel like... you've been avoiding me. For whatever reason." she sulks.
Well, obviously.
If I confronted Soyeon here right now, i wonder how Misun would look at me after. What if she thinks i'm lying and trying to make Soyeon look bad so that Misun can stop talking to her.
I just couldn't think about it, so i agreed to talking to her.
"We can talk privately." i say.
so we head out of the classroom, leaving Misun there. I take one last glance before closing the door and I could've sworn she was staring until she turned her head back around quickly.
I sigh and close the door lightly.

As much as Misun wanted to listen in, she forced herself to mind her own business and continue to eat her lunch.
Why was Jungwon avoiding Soyeon?
she groans at the thought.
he always avoids people when he feels like it.
she thinks about jungwon, and the day before.
the way he was being clingy and how comfortable he was with her made her smile. the feeling of flutters in her stomach keep coming back just from the thought of it.
suddenly, the door opened a little, leaving a crack in between.
she quickly turns her head towards the door, they couldn't have talked in just a short amount of time...
but they weren't done talking. they were still outside, someone didn't shut the door properly.
The distance between her desk and the door wasn't that far, leaving her to hear what they're saying.
"Who wouldn't avoid you after hearing that?" jungwon says
Misun can hear Soyeon stuttering.
"i heard what you said about me in the bathroom" he says
"wh-what?"
"don't start. you know what i'm talking about." he scoffs
"i'm... sorry."
"i really liked you."
misun didn't want to listen anymore. the word like pulled her heartstrings for whatever reason. she didn't like hearing those words from him.
are you crazy misun, stop thinking like that.
was it jealousy? did she actually want jungwon to like her?
she sighs and tries not to listen by stuffing food in her mouth to distract her.
after a few minutes she hears a loud noise.
"You're not any better, Jungwon!"
misun flinches from the sudden shout.
then, soyeon storms in, slamming the door behind her.
misun quickly turns around and stands from her desk.
there are tears coming down from her face.
misun stands still while watching her friend cry, not knowing what to do.
misun panics mentally, do i comfort her? do i ask if she's okay? or should i not say anything at all? what do i do??
even though misun isn't used to skinship, she goes towards her and embraces her in her arms.
"shh. its okay." she whispers, trying to calm her down.
soyeon places her head on the crook of misun's neck.
misun gently pats her head while staring at the door, she can still see jungwon's figure leaning against the wall outside.
he's looking down.
after a bit, soyeon speaks,
"am i.. a bad person?" she mutters
she thinks about the question.
why would she be?
what did jungwon mean by her talking about him?
misun hesitates, "..of course not." she reassures her.
finally, jungwon leaves.
they stay like this until lunch ends.

the bell rings, the days over.
i look over to the seat next to me. it's empty.
i wonder why he didn't come to school today, he's never been absent before...
after lunch, the whole class quieted down as well, maybe because ni-ki's not here and because soyeon's not as cheery as usual.
"misun. the bell rang a while ago." the teacher speaks
i snap out of my thoughts and quickly pack my things, "sorry." i bow
i walk out and close the door behind me. i turn around to see jungwon towering over me.
"woah." i say under my breath.
he backs up, "my bad"
i nod and go to my locker, he follows behind.
i open my locker as he waits, pretending he doesn't exist.
i close the locker door to see him waiting.
instead of acknowledging his presence, i quickly leave school to head to the metro train.
im going a different way than usual but he's still following me.
i stop abruptly and turn to face him.
he stops as well.
"why are you following me?" i confront
he shrugs.
"fine." i take a deep breath, "HELP! A CREEPY GUY IS FOLLOWIN-"
he runs up to me and covers my mouth, "be quiet." he says angrily while clenching his teeth.
i try yanking his hand off my face, he wont budge until i bite him.
despite his cute innocent looking face, he's super strong.
he looks up at me with pain written on his face, "ow?"
i grunt, "what's your deal? you're so creepy!" i yell.
he stands up straight, "relax, do you not trust me?" he sighs.
not really to be honest.
he sighs again, "listen, i didn't try to be creepy, i was going to say something... but i kept backing out" he turns away because he also knows it's a stupid excuse.
"yeah, so you just decided to follow me for like 20 minutes and not say anything?" i look at him with crossed arms.
guilty
he slowly nods.
unbelievable
"well stop." i say
i turn around after getting that out of the way, but he grabs my arm.
oh my god whats up with him and grabbing people?
"i wanted to say sorry." he confesses
"ok, i accept your apology." i reply quickly.
i don't even know what he's apologizing about.
"you don't even know why i'm saying sorry"
"i know."
"then-"
"please stop jungwon, i don't know what happened with you and soyeon, but don't try to involve me." i say seriously.
he raises his eyebrow, "how am i involving you?" he replies.
"you're making yourself like me to move on with soyeon." i say
"what?!" he says
"..."
he facepalms, "where did you get that from??"
i shrug, "it makes sense, you 'confessed' right after you started avoiding soyeon. theres no way you would've moved on from her that fast." i admit.
he shakes his head in frustation, "that's not what happened."
"doesn't matter. you made her cry. you know she really liked you."

earlier
"Who wouldn't avoid you after hearing that?" jungwon says

"i know."
of course she does. she played with my feelings. jungwon thought
"was your whole plan just to use me?"
she's speechless.
"but you used misun just to get with me with that whole number situation, and then after that you were going to use me as well? pathetic."
"y-you're wrong-"
"dont start. you're lucky misun is kind enough to still be your friend, even after you laugh at her when your friends joke about her, and even after you slowly stop being her friend, and for what reason? because-"
"you're not any better, jungwon!" she yells
jungwon stops for a moment and thinks about what she said.
by now her eyes are all teary. she goes inside the classroom as jungwon presses hes back onto the wall.
she's right. i wasn't any nicer to misun in the beginning.
but at least i can change for her.
