As Hua Cheng fell into Xie Lian's embrace , he couldn't help but feel shocked , he didn't see it coming and he didn't know how to react , he stood with a slight blush on his face.
"Thank you so much San Lang , i can't thank you enough for this, i don't know how i can repay you." Xie Lian said while slightly sobbing.
Hua Cheng made Xie Lian face him , and gently wiped his tears and said,
"You don't ever have to repay me."
"Thank you so much." Xie Lian said expressing his deep gratitude.
"Shall we head back now ? " Hua Cheng asked .
"Yes, let's go" Xie Lian replied.
As Xie Lian made his way to his room , it hit him , that he hugged Hua Cheng , he was blushing so hard , he felt as if heart was about to explode.
"UGHHHHHH , WHY DID I DO THAT ??? WHAT WAS I THINKING???" Xie Lian said while screaming into his pillow.
He subconsciously found himself staring at the necklace and said,
"I like him , i like him so much ."
The next morning Xie Lian greeted his parents who just came back from a trip to America and had a scrumptious breakfast with them , he really missed his parents and their lovely conversations.
As Xie Lian realized it was Sunday , he had nothing much to do , he decided to complete his missing assignments , which took hours of completion. It was not until a little late in the afternoon when he finished his assignments , he removed his glasses and sighed,
"Finally , its over , quite a productive day." Xie Lian said while patting himself on the back.
As he was about to grab a quick snack , he received a call from Shi QingXuan.
"Xie Lian listen to me, have you heard about that red lantern festival that happens once in every 26 years?" Shi QingXuan said in a hurried tone.
"Okay slow down a bit and yes i have , what about the festival?" Xie Lian asked.
"Dude turns out that festival is today , it's all over the internet , there's gonna be thousands of lanterns that are gonna be lit today , the sky would be filled with red lanterns today and i guess these lanterns are symbolic of each person's faith and wishes. We should go there tonight , we won't get this chance again and also i have invited Hua Cheng and He Xuan."
Xie Lian was a bit hesitant at first about whether he should go or not , but when he heard Hua Cheng was coming too , he decided to go .
" All right , all right , ill come , what time tho?" Xie Lian asked politely.
"let's meet at 7." Shi QingXuan replied .
"Got it , ill see you there." Xie Lian replied.
"Okay see ya."
Since it was almost time to go to the festival , Xie Lian decided to dress in traditional red attire , he looked rather ravishing , as red complimented him really well. Since he didn't wanna drive he asked his dad to drive him there. As he reached the festival , there was a humongous crowd gathered , it didn't even seem like a single person could fit there ,which made Xie Lian quite anxious.
The festival was overly decorated with crimson decor , red lights and food stalls along with shopping stalls , he really never saw a festival like this , a festival once in 26 years really preceded its reputation , but what Xie Lian was looking forward was to those lanterns.
As Xie Lian almost got tramped between the crowd but someone held his hand , as he looked above , he saw a man dressed in all red , as if the crimson color was made for him , his poetic crimson eyes heightened by the bright red attire . Without a hint of doubt it was none other than Hua Cheng.
"Are you all right?" Hua Cheng asked in a concerned tone .
" Yes i am fine San Lang ." Xie Lian replied as he regained his composure.
"XIE LIANNNNN !!!! " came a voice behind Hua Cheng.
"Shi Qingxuan." Xie Lian replied.
From behind Shi QingXuan another tall male dressed in all red accompanied him.
"This festival is really a big deal , just look at crowd ." Shi QingXuan said.
" Yeah it really is." Xie Lian replied.
"Guys we should really go now if we want to see those lanterns and if we're lucky maybe light some of them." He Xuan commented.
"Yeah , let's go." Xie Lian said.
The more they moved forward to where the lanterns would be visible from , there was an unexplainable anxiety rising within Xie Lian , he felt as if something is not right , as if all of this is gonna be taken away from him , as if he was not gonna meet Hua Cheng again , the feeling petrified him , it petrified him more than any nightmare.
" GUYS LOOK THE LANTERNS ARE GONNA BE VISIBLE ANY MOMENT NOW." Shi QingXuan said while pointing at the sky .
Xie Lian knew they were a bit too late to light those lanterns , so decided to make a wish , when those lanterns would make their way to the night sky.
" look they are beginning to rise ." He Xuan commented.
As hundreds of them made their way to the sky , Xie Lian closed his eyes and kept wishing for a long time.

( even though i didn't get a chance to light these lanterns , my faith and wish is still unwavering, i wish for all these negative thoughts to disappear , i wish to cherish every moment i spend with the ones i truly love , i wish to always shield San Lang from everything , always and forever . As Xie Lian opened his eyes , his eyes remained wide open , he saw those three thousand lanterns covering the entirety of the night sky , as he watched those three thousand lanterns , he felt as if heart had been stabbed a thousand times , he started to shake , he moved back further and further , his legs started to tremble causing him to fall on the ground , he could hear a voice , a voice of someone ,
" Gege"
"what a heavenly way to die"
"i am forever your most devoted believer"
" You are my eternity"
"i won't forget you "
As Xie Lian's heart and ears were pierced with these constant voices , he eventually lost all consciousness .
"San lang" Xie Lian said as he fell into a deep cave of memories, the memories of someone.
