I woke up groaning from the pain in my head. I could feel wolfsbane in my system and it was a nightmare. Never have I thought that I would feel my blood burning, my body was on fire and I grunted, no one ever said it hurt this badly. Imagine willingly drinking wolfsbane during the full moon, I could never.
Luckily I didn't have to rely on my werewolf side for power, I still had my talisman around my neck. Who could blame them? Honestly, I've never heard of a werewolf-witch hybrid in the TV show. Hybrids in general were a rare occurrence.
Taking a look around the room I immediately noticed Trevor leaning closer to Elena, ready to take a bite. "Hey, dickhead! Ever heard of a thing called personal space?!"
He flashed his vampire eyes at me and I just looked at him bored. Seriously, there was nothing special about him nor his vampire face, nothing I haven't seen before.
That's when Rose walked in "Trevor! Control yourself!". Trevor just sighed while muttering "Buzzkill", like a child whose toy has been taken away.
Once the whole "What do you want from me? I'm Elena, not Katherine" conversation was over and done with, Rose bitch slapped Elena and I couldn't help but look at the whole ordeal completely amused. She looked at me weirdly since I was silent the whole time she was in the room.
After some time, princess Elena was awake and ready to find out what was going on, while I was just sitting Indian-style and letting my magic speed up my healing process. I already knew what they were talking about anyway.
My increased hearing was back in action and I tuned into their current conversation. I could hear Trevor pacing while Rose was setting up cardboards on the windows. How is it possible for a vampire that is over 500 years old, not to have a daylight ring?
"Did you or did you not get the message to Elijah?" Trevor asked, his nervousness clear as the day.
Rose sounded rather relaxed when she answered "They say he got it." even though she was anything but relaxed.
Trevor's voice was on edge, stress getting the best of him "Wonderful and what?"
Rose was getting annoyed because she didn't know what was the next step if Elijah doesn't show up. "So that's it, Trevor! He either got it or he didn't. We just have to wait. What about the other girl?"
Just the thought of the dark-skinned girl sitting upstairs, made him feel uneasy. "She's being suspiciously calm and silent.
Rose was curious about the werewolf girl, there was just something about her that spiked her interest "Who is she?"
If the thought of the kidnapped girl made him feel uneasy, then just the thought of Klaus made him want to flee and hide under a rock. As he has done for the past five centuries. "She's the one that Klaus wants. I don't know who she is though. She was talking with the doppelganger when we were planning to take her. We got lucky."
Rose nodded while processing the information "That should make this exchange go smoothly. Keep an eye on her just in case. We don't need any trouble right now, especially with Elijah arriving soon."
I tuned out again after hearing their conversation and decided to visit the future hybrid, god knows when Elijah will get his posh ass to this dump.
I closed my eyes concentrating on Nik and suddenly I was there. He was standing by the window, talking on the phone. "No, Elijah, she hasn't contacted me with the information about the doppelganger yet. Let me know what you found out later." he sighed, lost in his thoughts so I approached him leaning on the window next to him.
He looked at me surprised to see me, I could see a sparkle of happiness in his eyes but he decided to scowl instead.
"Oh, come now Nikki, I'm here aren't I?" I replied teasingly while leaning on a wall close by, looking directly at his stormy eyes.
"Where have you been?" he asked pissily, I just smirked amused "If you keep this up, I'm going to start thinking you can't live without me"
His growl was a clear indication of his annoyance. "Love, patience is not my strong suit, you don't want to push it right now."
I snorted after hearing his words "Trust me, I know that. Who would have thought that you're a 1000-years-old vampire with the patience of a child."
He gave me a dirty look and I just grinned in return "Now, Nikki, don't look at me like that. I come bearing gifts."
"I already have everything that I need," he said full of himself and I just snorted, how arrogant could he actually be? Forget I asked, this is Niklaus Mikaelson afterall.
"Oh? Is that so? I guess you're not interested in the doppelganger's whereabouts?" I asked pretending to be surprised.
Hearing my words he gave me a dirty look "Where is Katerina?"
I grinned lazily while Nik looked as impatient as ever "Well, sure, I can give you her location as well. But I believe you will be much more interested in the human one"
"What? That's impossible! You really think you can trick me?!" he started yelling and I just rolled my eyes "Right. Impossible. You talk as if you don't know Katerina. She had a child out of wedlock and now, five centuries later, there is another doppelganger. But hey, I guess you don't really care about that."
"Are you going to tell me where the doppelganger is or just fuck with me?" he growled pissed because of my teasing.
"I mean we're close Nikki, but we're not that close." I chuckled at the dirty look he sent my way, again. "Before I tell you anything you have to give me a promise not to touch the people that I care about, do you need me to give you a list or?"
He rolled his eyes not even caring about anything other than the doppelganger's location, "Sure send me a list"
I grinned "Will do! Actually, I'll give it to Elijah since he's about to come here. Anyway, she lives in Mystic Falls, her name is Elena Gilbert. Her brother is off-limits."
He frowned "What do you mean by 'he's about to come here'?"
I rolled my eyes "Of course that's the only thing you heard. I'm in some dump, kidnapped by Rose and Trevor, remember them?"
He growled pissed off "Why did they kidnap you?"
I stared at him deadpan "Well I suppose you searching for me could have something to do with it!"
He looked at me sheepishly but I ignored it and continued "And since they were already planning on kidnapping the doppelganger when I showed up they decided why not take two for the price of one. Plus I wanted to meet your brother, the noble one and all that. See if he's all that."
He chuckled "Of course you would get kidnapped on purpose."
Feeling a shift in the air, well in the dump we were in I realized that Elijah probably arrived "We'll talk later, I have to go now. You know, things to do, people to see. I have another gift for you, I'll leave it with Elijah. Bye Niklaus!"
I got back to reality and got off the couch I was sitting on. Heading down the stairs I heard their conversation.
Trevor was scared out of his mind as expected "I can't do this. You give them to him, he'll have mercy on you but I need to get out of here."
Rose was trying her best to calm him down "Hey! What are we?"
Trevor mumbled, "We're family, forever." but fear was still very present in his eyes.
There was a knock on the door which seemed to alarm Trevor even more if that's possible. I can't blame him, he will lose his head pretty soon, there's a reason for him to be afraid.
Elena decided to be a smartass and stated "You're scared."
I looked at her blankly, not even a bit amused "No shit he's scared, you would be as well if you spent five centuries running away from someone only to have to face them."
She looked surprised that I knew that "How do you know that?"
I rolled my eyes "I have ears, Elena, plus it is basic logic, they have been running since Katherine screwed them over and she's over 500 years old."
I haven't even noticed Elijah enter until I heard him speed up to smell Elena "Human. It's impossible. Hello there."
I rolled my eyes for the hundredth time this week "The heartbeat wasn't enough of an indicator that she was human?" I asked mocking his actions because seriously, sniffing someone that you don't even know is creepy as hell.
He looked at me trying to figure out who I was until his brain caught up and he gave me a look of recognition. I just winked in return.
"And who might you be?" he asked curious about my name.
Smirking I spoke, "That's for me to know and for you to find out."
He sighed, giving up and announcing "We have a long journey ahead of us. We should be going."
Then Elena decided to beg our kidnappers "Please, don't let him take us."
I just sighed "Elena why would our kidnappers wish to let us go? A sudden change of heart?" I snorted and she shot me a dirty look. I just looked at her blankly because seriously how dumb can she really be, sometimes I wonder.
Elijah ignored our altercation and turned to look at our kidnappers "One last piece of business and we're done."
He started circling Trevor, like an animal circling its prey and that's exactly what Trevor was to Elijah.
Trevor was doing his best to stay calm but he was almost shaking with fear "I've waited so long for this day, Elijah. I'm truly, very sorry."
Elijah brushed him off "Oh no, your apology is not necessary."
Trevor kept apologizing "Yes, yes it is. You trusted me with Katerina and I failed you."
Elijah's calm facade was slipping away "Oh yes, you are the guilty one and Rose aided you because she was loyal to you and that now I honor. Where was your loyalty?!"
I watched their every step, curious despite knowing the outcome.
Trevor continued pleading...for his life "I beg your forgiveness."
Elijah nodded "So granted."
Trevor smiled in relief, he was finally free. He didn't need to run anymore. He could finally live. Elijah basically slapped Trevor's head clean off his body. Rose cried in despair, unable to breathe. While Elena gasped, shocked and scared, finally becoming aware of the situation she was in. Whereas I found it amusing. I mean wouldn't you be impressed? He literally decapitated him with a slap.
Rose's emotions were spiraling, she lost the person that was by her side for centuries. She lost her family "You...!"
Elijah shook off her cry of anger and sadness as if he wasn't the cause of it "Don't, Rose, now that you are free."
He looked at Elena and me, ordering us to come with him. I just shrugged and followed after him, I had nothing to be afraid of. If Elijah were to even think about killing me, Nik would surely dagger him. If not because of caring about me, then because I was of use to him.
Elena decided to be oh so wise and muttered determined "No, what about the moonstone?"
Elijah turned around as soon as he heard her words "What do you know about the moonstone?"
He looked at me with a questioning look in his eyes and I just winked at him, since let's be real they don't even have the real moonstone.
Elena's confidence blooming by the second "I know that you need it and I know where it is."
Elijah studied her "Yes?"
"I can help you get it." Elena was being a true altruist, helping those in need and whatnot. I almost laughed out loud at the thought.
Bored of going back and forth Elijah demanded "Tell me where it is."
Thinking she had the upper hand, Elena stated "It doesn't work that way."
Elijah looked at her in disbelief "Are you negotiating with me?"
He looked at Rose questioningly as if it wasn't clear enough. Seriously Elijah, dramatic much?
Rose sniffled but answered his silent question "It's the first I've heard of it."
He tried to compel Elena but it didn't work. He looked at her necklace or let's be real Rebekah's necklace but details.
Elijah muttered annoyed "What is this vervain doing around your neck?"
He rips the necklace off her neck and throws it away. Grabbing her head he compels her easily. I sighed at her never-ending stupidity, she literally spends all her free time with vampires and she doesn't even drink vervain.
Elijah demanded once again "Tell me where the moonstone is."
Elena talked against her will, not being able to resist the compulsion "In the tomb, underneath the church ruins."
Elijah looked at her curiously "What is it doing there?"
Elena replied in a robot-like voice "It's with Katherine."
He looked at me and I just smirked in reply to his questioning look. I did promise Nik two doppelgangers, didn't I?
There was a sound of breaking glass, oh goody the knights in shining armor have come to save their princess.
He grabbed Elena and went to grab me as well but I just shot him a look. They went to another part of the house while Stefan and Damon moved around them with their super speed. Elijah threw Elena in Rose's arms.
Elijah looked at Rose and just muttered her name, a warning, and a question in one.
Rose just shook her head confused "I don't know who it is."
Stefan came from upstairs "Up here."
Elijah went up the stairs with his super-speed, until Damon said "Down here."
They played their game of hide and seek with the spice of Elena's manipulation until Damon stabbed Elijah in his heart with a wooden coat rack.
Rose ran away and the dogs looked ready to pounce until the princess' command was heard "Just let her go."
Elena and Stefan smiled at each other, sickly sweet, and embraced as if they were apart for a 100 years.
Stefan started approaching her worry clear in his eyes "Hey, come here. Are you hurt? Are you okay?"
She embraced him in reply and looked at Damon. She mouthed a "thank you" and Damon mouthed a "you're welcome", which made me want to throw up. I'm not a hater, they were just too damn cheesy for my taste.
Damon looked at me as if he didn't even notice me all this time, which he probably didn't. "Are you okay?" he asked in fake worry because let's be real we aren't friends, we are acquaintances, at best.
I forced a smile "Yeah, I'm glad it's over", and hey it wasn't a lie, I'm glad it's over so I can talk with Elijah later, I'm glad it's over since I can't stand here any longer listening to Elena's whiny voice and I'm glad I can get Rebekah's necklace back.
He just nodded "Let's get out of here", I nodded and when we got to the door, I feigned worry "Shit, I think I dropped my phone somewhere around here", Damon sighed "We'll wait by the car". Grumpy much?
I nodded "Okay, I'll be quick"
They nodded and went out without another word, while I headed in the direction of Rebekah's necklace. Searching the dusty floor is not what I wished to be doing right now, but hey beggars can't be choosers. When I finally spotted the necklace I put it in my pocket and quickly pulled out a piece of paper from my bag. I wrote the names of people that I wanted to keep safe and put the paper in Elijah's handkerchief pocket.
The names on the top were Bonnie, Tyler, Caroline, and Jeremy. I also wrote Jenna and Alaric because neither of them deserves to be harmed. Everyone else can fend for themselves, I can't save the whole town. Plus there are only a few I care about.
I put the paper in his pocket, along with the moonstone, and took the coat rack out of his chest before leaving. I wonder what Elijah and Niklaus have planned. I got out after that and went into the car without a word. They drove me home and the moment I stepped inside I was met with my sister's body colliding with mine. She sighed in content and I couldn't help but smile "Don't tell me you were worried about me?"
"Of course I was! You were kidnapped!" She yelled and I could see the fear in her eyes. Smiling sadly I said "Bonnie I was fine, you know I can defend myself. Plus I already knew this would happen."
"What? How did you know? Why didn't you tell me?" before she continued with 1001 questions I motioned to the couch. She sat down and I finally answered "I have had some premonitions that told me what will happen in the future. I'm working on keeping everyone safe and content"
Okay, I don't really care about most of the people involved, well besides my family and the Mikaelson family.
"What is going to happen?" It was obvious that she had a whole lesson prepared but she pushed it away and focused on the future.
"What is going to happen is that I will become a mediator in the war that is about to come." I sighed, knowing my sister she will want all possible danger removed at any cost.
"What war? Why would there even be a war?"
"Because an Original vampire wants to use Elena to break an old curse. In order to do that she needs to die."
"Why didn't you tell me that Elena could die?! How could you hide that from me? She's my best friend!" Bonnie's eyes filled with tears of frustration.
"Bonnie, you need to trust me, okay? You need to trust that I know what I'm doing. I have seen everything that happens and I know how to keep everyone alive."
She shook her head, frustration getting the best of her "I can't deal with this right now. We'll talk more later. I'm going out" she took her handbag and speed-walked out of the house. I rolled my eyes, I just don't share the same worry for Elena that she does. God, I wish I could just let Elena die. She's not worth all the trouble.
I went to bed and collapsed on it. My mind was buzzing with ideas and thoughts of what might be happening, but I was too tired to dwell on it, so I fell asleep in a matter of seconds.
I knew that while I was sleeping Rose was talking to Stefan and Damon, while Caroline was talking with Tyler, I had a feeling that the two of them would end up together, just like in the canon version. And I was happy about that, I believe that if Klaus wasn't there, their relationship could have worked. She also had a great relationship with Stefan later on, but hey only time will tell who is the right person for her.
