𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫, 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 books with more books. after the events at the pet clinic, her, scott, and stiles had went back to school. they needed to find lydia, hoping that the strawberry blonde would be able to find deaton. but they don't even know all of her abilities yet, which means she doesn't either.
she felt her phone vibrate in her back pocket, making her pull it out to see that she. had gotten a text. actually, she had gotten multiple texts. the most recent one was from stiles in a group chat that him, her and scott was in, but the others were from allison.

aurora nodded her head slightly, even though no one could see her. she then clicked out of the group chat and went to allison's messages, smiling slightly once her eyes landed on the conversation that they were having the night before. she then put her focus to the three new messages from earlier that day.

aurora smiled, feeling her heart warm slightly. she then felt a little guilty for not keeping her girlfriend in the loop about everything that has been happening.

sorry that i wasn't answering.
it's a lot to wrap my head around
she had seen the bubbles appear on the screen, meaning that allison was texting back. but then something gained her attention. it sounded almost like a metronome, but going at a really slowly pace. she looked up from her phone, looking around the hallway to see if anyone was tapping on their lockers or any doors, but didn't seen anyone. she quickly turned off her phone, closed her locker, and started to follow the sound through the school.
she walks down the halls cautiously, hoping that it was an actual metronome and not who she thinks it is. she turned a corner, coming face to face with scott.
"you hear it, too?" he questioned, the shorter girl nodding her head slightly.
the duo continued to follow the noise, going down the stairs that led to where the locker rooms and basement of the school. they quietly entered the room that the noise was coming from - which was the music room, seeing that deucalion was sitting at the piano, using his cane to tap on it.
the blind man stopped once the two teen wolves were fully in the room. "do you two know what a metronome is?" he asked. "it's a tool to help you maintain a steady rhythm once you've set the tempo. something tells me the tempo of your lives has sped up considerably in the last few hours." he continued, standing up from the stool.
aurora had felt her phone vibrate in her phone again, but she ignored. she was putting her entire focus on the alpha wolf in front of her, just incase he tried to pull something.
"if anyone of you would like, i could help slow it down to a more manageable pace." he offered.
"how?" scott questioned.
"by helping the both of you find deaton." deucalion answered.
both scott and aurora shared a look, confused on how the older man could possibly know about deaton. anger then started to flood through their veins, wondering if he's apart of the disappearances. if he was apart of deaton's disappearance.
"your hearts are pounding, but it's not fear. it's anger." deucalion announced, starting to slowly make his way towards the duo. "i bet i know what you're thinking. does he have something to do with deaton's disappearance? tell you what." he continued, stopping about a foot away from the werewolves and putting his cane in his hands. "if either of you can take the cane away from me. i'll tell you exactly where he is. now, what do you think?"
scott and aurora shared another look before scott pushed himself forward in an attempt to grab the cane. aurora quickly took her bag off and dropped it to the floor as she watched deucalion swing his cane around while scott tried to dodge it. she decided that now would be a good time to jump in, considering he was distracted with scott.
she made a move to grab the cane, but was stopped when deucalion used his other hand to push her away. she look at him with raised eyebrows before she looked over at scott, who jumped towards the cane again. deucalion simply pushed him towards the piano, the mccall boy hopping on it and doing a back flip over the alpha.
aurora tried to take the cane again, but was only met with deucalion swinging it towards her. the hastings girl quickly dropped to the floor before doing a kip-up, landing on her feet. scott had somehow landed on top of the teacher's desk. both teens were on either side of deucalion, watching as they took the red cap off at the end, revealing a small blade.
aurora couldn't help but think back to when ethan and aiden had attacked her, scott, and isaac in the hall as gigantor wolf. the alpha of alpha had took the cap off and slashed the blade across the twins's faces.
scott had done a flip off of the desk, deucalion taking a side step, making him face both werewolves. he quickly lunged the blade into scott's shoulder, taking it out before he swung it across aurora's cheek, much like he did the twins's. the gamma wolf fell to the floor from the impact, feeling blood drip down her cheek.
"impressive, but you both know i'm not the one slashing up innocent people." deucalion began, putting the cap back onto the cane. "praying to ancient gods or gathering herbs, or whatever the hell druids are supposed to do. i am part of a pack that wants derek dead, though."
this made both aurora and scott look up at the alpha, their hearts dropping at the last part.
"kali is coming for him. so there's a difficult you're both about to face. because someone is going to die tonight, and whether that's derek or deaton, that's up to the both of you." deucalion finished.
"just tell us where he is." aurora demanded, feeling her cheek start to heal.
deucalion shook his head slightly. "i'll give you a very important clue. let the current guide you."
with that, the alpha werewolf walked out of the room, leaving the two teens to think about what he had just said. scott had gotten up from the floor, offering aurora his hand before pulling the girl up. she walked over to her bag and put it on her shoulder, seeing that scott was holding the shoulder that deucalion had stabbed.
"is it healing?" she asked.
"yeah, he just went pretty deep." scott answered.
the duo left the music room, deucalion's words echoing in aurora's mind. "let the current guide you. what the hell does 'let the current guide you' mean?"
"i'm not too sure." scott mumbled.
the duo walked upstairs and walked to the chemistry room. they had followed the voices of stiles and lydia, not really paying attention to what they were saying until they were in the doorway.
"honestly, i don't know why you're even bothering with me anyway. i mean, especially since it's obvious you should be talking to danny." lydia pointed out. aurora could see that she was drawing something, but didn't really care to see what exactly.
"what? why danny?" stiles quizzed.
"because. . ." scott began, making stiles, lydia, and cora turn to look at the two werewolves. "last night, he was a target."
"but it wasn't a sacrifice." aurora finished, bringing her hand up to wipe the blood off her cheek.
aurora remembered that her phone had vibrated during the whole deucalion altercation, making her pull her phone out of her back pocket. she had seen that allison had responded, making her smile slightly.

aurora had jumped at the sound of the bell shrilling in the halls, meaning that it was time for the next period. her, scott, stiles, lydia, and cora had walked out the chemistry room, joining the crowded halls full of students.
"but isn't danny still in the hosiptal?" cora questioned as they walked down the hall.
aurora had felt her phone vibrate in her hand, making her look down to see that allison had sent another text.

hey, i think i found something
"yeah, that's where we're going right now." stiles answered.
"i'm gonna meet you guys there." aurora announced.
"what? why?" the spastic boy quizzed.
aurora stopped walking, quickly turning around and holding her phone up so her friends could see the message.
"aw, aren't you guys adorable." stiles commented sarcastically, looking at the contact name that aurora had for allison. "i like what you did there. with the arrow and the heart. cause she's a hunter."
aurora rolled her eyes, a small smile on her lips. that's exactly why she did that. "i'll meet you guys there." she repeated before she ran out the building and to her car.

once aurora had arrived to allison's house, the two girls going to the argent girl's bedroom. allison had told aurora that chris wasn't home and wouldn't be back for a few hours, meaning that they wouldn't get in trouble. they were still supposed to be in school, considering it was the last period of the day.
"so i was looking through one of his drawers, and i found this." allison began, holding up a uv light. the sound of the elevator dinging caught both of their attention, already knowing who that was. "he wasn't supposed to be back yet."
"we're still supposed to be in school. what do we do? where do we go?" aurora quizzed, starting to panic slightly.
allison quickly opened her closet door, pulling aurora in after her. aurora felt her back hit the clothes that were hanging up. her breath hitched when she realized that allison's front were touching her's, a blush creeping onto her cheeks. it didn't help that their faces were extremely close. it's definitely not the time to kiss her.
aurora let out a breath to try and calm herself down, but allison quickly brought her finger to the taller girl's lips. aurora nodded slightly, closing her mouth as her mind started to get filled with worried thoughts. the longer she stayed inside her mind, wondering if they were gonna find deaton in time, the less control she had over her body.
"what are you doing?" allison questioned, her voice in a hushed tone.
aurora blinked, being snapped out of her thoughts. she narrowed her eyes, "nothing."
"your hands are doing something." allison whispered, looking down.
aurora furrowed her eyebrows, following allison's gaze to see that her own hands were on allison's waist. and not only were they on allison's waist, they were rubbing allison's waist. "oh, god. i'm so sorry." she apologized, feeling another blush appear on her cheeks.
the gamma wold quickly took her hands off of allison's waist, making them drop to her sides. after a few seconds, she was back to worrying about deucalion, her mind swarming with questions.
are we gonna find him on time? is he all ready dead? what if he's all ready dead? i can't lose him, he's like a dad to me. if he's dead, i failed him as a gam -
"rora." allison whispered, snapping said girl out of her thoughts once again. "you're doing it again."
"oh, my god." aurora mumbled, hating herself in that moment. she quickly took her hands away allison's waist, folding them in front of her.
"i'll just turn around." allison said, doing what she just said.
aurora looked down, eyes slightly widened as her cheeks heat up fro the third time in five minutes. "allison." she whispered.
"what?" the argent girl questioned, looking through the slits in her closet door.
"my, uh, my hands. . . are still on you." aurora answered.
allison looked back, seeing that aurora's hands were now touching her butt. the argent girl couldn't help but start to laugh, trying to ignore the blush that was starting to make it's way to her cheeks. a snort left her nose, making her bring her hand up to quickly cover her mouth. aurora smiled at this as well, watching as allison turned back around so that they were face each other once again.
the huntress looked aurora in the eyes before look down at aurora's lips. the air around them had suddenly gotten thick, the both of them forgetting where they were and what they were doing. aurora's eyes had drifted down to allison's as well, but not making a move since they were in the closet. but allison made a move, going on her tiptoes to kiss her girlfriend. but she put too much force into it, making aurora stumble back into the clothes, allison stumbling with her.
the hastings girl quickly caught herself, catching allison. both girls stayed frozen in the awkward position they were in, making sure that chris didn't hear what had just happened. allison released a quiet chuckle, the taller girl quickly hushing her. then they heard footsteps and a door close. allison quickly, but quietly, opened the closet door, peaking to make sure that her father had left before she exited the closet.
aurora followed, allison quickly grabbing her hand so that they could go to chris's office. "i can't believe i just had to come out of the closet again." she joked, feeling proud of herself. "you get it? it's a coming out joke. ha!"
allison couldn't help the smile that made it's way on her face, shaking her head at the horrible joke her girlfriend had made. the two had quickly entered the office, aurora closing the door behind her just in case chris came back.
"see this map?" allison questioned, making aurora look down at the map. "last time we were in here talking, my dad put a book over it. there was something about the way he did it. it was like - it was like he was trying to cover it."
aurora examined the map, not seeing any writing or maps on it. she furrowed her eyebrows, confused. "i don't see anything."
"yeah, you can't until you use this." allison informed, holding up the uv light.
she quickly turned it on before she started hover it over the map. aurora raised her eyebrows once she had seen a bunch of marks appear across the map; xs, circles, squares.
"cool." aurora mumbled.
"he's been tracking and marking everything." allison began, placing the light over beacon hills first national on the map. "cora and boyd at the bank." she then moved it towards the her apartment. "the office in the penthouse above us," she then moves it around the map more, revealing more marks. "all of the dead bodies."
"why are there different symbols?" aurora questioned.
"each one has a different meaning." allison began, moving the light over the animal clinic, which had two circles. "circles are for where someone was taken, and then a box with an x in it are for where the bodies are found." she continued, moving the light into the preserve.
aurora thought back to when kyle - the guy with dog names bullet, had disappeared at the animal clinic, which means he was one of the circles. and how the lacrosse team had found his body literally the next day, the box with the x in it.
"now here's the scary part." allison said, making aurora look up at her. "there have been six sacrifices, right?"
"yeah?" the gamma wolf answered, it sounding like a question.
"there are 12 markings on the map."
aurora raised her eyebrows, "wha - did he find other bodies and not tell any of us?"
"i don't think so. i think he knows where the body is going to be found, so one of these six locations, one of these is where deaton could end up." the huntress explains. "i mean, it doesn't tell us where he's being kept right now, but -"
"it sure as hell is close to figuring it out." aurora interrupted, quickly taking out her phone. she took a picture of it, allison holding the uv light up so that all of the markings would show up on the map.
then they heard a ding.
"seriously? again?" aurora quizzed, pushing her phone into her back pocket.
"room. my room." allison rushed.
"but, i - i can't stay." aurora quickly pointed out.
"okay, so bathroom! hurry!"
aurora quickly ran out of the office and to the bathroom. she didn't close the door, but she turned the light off. allison had rushed passed the bathroom, quickly backtracking so that she could pull aurora into a kiss. the hastings girl didn't have time to kiss back because allison was walking to her rom once again. she heard the door close before hearing the front door open. she tensed up once she saw chris walk past, pressing herself up against a wall so he wouldn't see her.
"hey." chris greeted, telling aurora that he was distracted enough for her to sneak past. "i, uh, i didn't hear you come in."
the werewolf stuck her head out of the bathroom, looking at allison, who was trying to stop a smile from appearing on her face. she then continued to tiptoe to the front door, not paying attention to the conversation that the father and daughter was having. she quietly opened the door before shutting it.
once she was down the hall, she released a breath. she had fully expected for chris to catch her, but she was glad that she was wrong. instead of waiting for the elevator, she took the stairs, not wanting chris to come out and see her waiting.
once she was downstairs, she quickly pulled her phone out and dialed scott's number, bringing the phone up to her ear. she heard the dial tone ring for a few seconds before she heard a faint click.
"hey." she greeted as she left the building and walked to her car, that was parked around the corner so chris wouldn't see it.
"hey. what did allison find?" scott asked on the other end.
"hold on. let me get to my car. add stiles." aurora answered, unlocking her car with her keys. she quickly climbed inside and stuck her key in the ignition.
"hello?" the voice of stiles appeared just as aurora put her phone on speaker.
"all right, the gang's all here." she mumbled as she pulled off. "allison found something in argent's office."
"what was it?" scott questioned.
"it was a map of beacon hills. and at first there's nothing on it, but then she turned a uv light on and all of these symbols appeared on it. circles were where the bodies were taken from, a box with an x in it were where the bodies were found. he had a box with an x in it in there preserve, where kyle was found. and circles at the clinic where deaton was taken. but here's the thing, there were only six bodies found." aurora explained.
"okay? what else is there?" stiles quizzed.
"there's twelve markings on the map. which means that deaton is at one of the other six locations." aurora answered. "there all over town. i don't know if we can get to them fast enough." she finishes.
"we might not have to." stiles started, making aurora furrow her eyebrows.
"what does that mean?" scott asked.
"danny was doing a project on something for mr.harris's physics class, and i think it actually means something." stiles informed.
"what project?" aurora questioned.
"something on telluric currents." the stilinski boy answered.
aurora eyebrows shot up her forehead, thinking back to what deucalion had said earlier that day. "scott."
"did you say currents?" the mccall boy asked.
"yeah." stiles answered.
"'let the current guide you.'" aurora mumbled, repeating what the alpha wolf had told the both of them. "stiles, get lydia and cora, and meet

our favorite trio, plus cora and lydia, was at the clinic. stiles and aurora had explained to cora and lydia what they had found, which led to what they were doing right now. they were all standing around the metal table, going through danny's essay on telluric currents to see if they could find something. aurora had printed out the map, it being separated into six pieces of paper so it could be large enough.
"okay, so what does this kid's homework have to do with dining deaton?" cora questioned.
"because it's not just homework, okay? it's a project on geometric fields." stiles corrected. "they flow through the earth. they can even be affected by lunar phases, all right?" he then flipped the cover page. "now, look at this. this is a note from harris on danny's proposal."
"'i strongly advice that you choose another subject. the ideas here, while innovative and thoughtful, border on pseudo-science. not suitable for class.'" lydia read, the last part sounding like a question.
"harris wasn't just a sacrifice. he knew something." scott concludes.
"now, check this out." stiles started, picking up a folded map. "allison's dad wasn't the only one with a map, all right? danny had one too."
aurora quickly moved her printed out map out of the way so that stiles could put danny's on the table. she placed hers on top of danny's, seeing that there were curvy lines on different parts of the maps in different colors.
"danny marked all the telluric currents, okay? now the weird thing about beacon hills is that it actually is a beacon. you wouldn't believe how much energy flowing through the earth is around this town." stiles continued.
aurora quickly realized something, her eyes flickering between the map she printed and danny's map. "stiles. they match. the maps. . . they match." she quickly snatched the pen out of scott's hand. "there's three places; where they were kidnapped and where the bodies were found." she continued, circling the animal clinic and oakwood road on danny's map.
"look, that's right on a telluric current." lydia points out, putting her finger on one of the spots.
"so maybe where he was sacrificed is somewhere in between." scott adds on, making aurora nod.
stiles then took the pen out of aurora's hand, "you said there's six more bodies to be found. deacons one of them." he started, putting in x in the circle that was around the clinic. "gotta be somewhere in between, right?"
"stop." cora jumped in, putting her hand on top of stiles. she then moved it across the map, putting it on beacon hills national bank. "he's in the vault. he's in the same vault."
"let's go." aurora mumbled, starting to gather up the papers that were on the table.
everyone started to pack up their belongings, both scott and aurora being determined to save their boss. they had owed him from the multiple times he had saved their lives. the many times that he had given them advice on how to handle this supernatural stuff. both teen wolves were about to walk out the door.
"guys, hold on." lydia called, making them stop.
"lydia, we don't have time." scott told her.
"it's boyd." cora started, making aurora and scott look at her. she was looking down at her phone. "the plan didn't work. they cut the power."
scott and aurora looked at each other, deucalion's word echoing through their minds. they all ready knew what the other one was thinking.
"it's just like he said." aurora mumbled. "what do we do?"
"you go with them, i can save deaton myself." scott told her.
"scott." aurora stopped him. "i care about him too. i wanna go."
"derek is gonna need as much help as he can get, rori. you have to go with them." scott reasons, making the shorter girl let out a huff.
"fine." she mumbled, turning to the other three. "well, what are we waiting for? let's go."

they had rushed towards derek's loft, stiles, cora, and lydia going to where the controls for the power were. aurora on the other hand, was running up the stairs to the loft. the hairs on the back of her neck had stood up, and goosebumps had appeared on her arms, telling her that something bad was gonna happen. but it was stronger this time. she here she was, trying er fastest to get to derek, isaac, and boyd so she could protect them.
"come on. come on." she mumbled to herself.
she had finally made it to the level that the loft was on. she had seen the twins holding ms.blake in the entrance, but she ignored them, running past to see that kali had derek by the neck, his arm being twisted behind his back. she shifted pretty quickly, running up to push kali off of derek.
just in case the power doesn't come back on, she reminded herself as she was met with kali's red eyes.
"oh, it's the gamma." she smirked, getting ready to attack.
isaac quickly ran through the water, going towards the entrance so that he could be out of the water. boyd tried to follow but it was too late. lydia and cora had managed to get the power back on, which made electrical currents appear in the water. derek, aurora, kali, and boyd all fell into the water, jolting with the electricity. aurora had caught herself from falling fully, looking towards isaac and the twins.
isaac watched in complete shock, watching as aurora's usual white eyes started to to turn pink. he noticed that the electricity was barely affecting her, water dripping from her hair as she started to sit up. "what the hell?" he mumbled.
then he remembered that he was holding ms.blake back, tightening his grip around the english teacher so she wouldn't go into the water.
once the power had gone back out, aurora released a sigh of relief. even if it had barely affected her, it was still an uncomfortable feeling. she shook her head slightly, making the pink color that had appeared a few seconds ago vanish.
kali stood up, facing the twins. "take him!"
ethan and aiden quickly made their way towards derek, picking the alpha up before they held out his hands, making sure his claws were extended. kali quickly grabbed boyd, picking the beta wolf up and pushing him over towards derek. aurora quickly realized what she was gonna do, making her jump up. she was going to attack, but kali quickly kicked her back into the spiral staircase, aurora hitting her head.
the gamma wolf landed on her knees, blinking so that her now blurry vision could focus. but it wasn't working. she stood up, ignoring the dizzy and nauseous feeling that had appeared as she approached kali.
"let him go!." she demanded, putting her hand on the alpha's shoulder.
kali glared at her, taking one hand from off of boyd and swinging. aurora's head swung to the side once kali's claws came in contact with her cheek. she then felt herself be pushed back, landing on her back. aurora tried to get up once again, but it was too late. kali had already dropped boyd onto derek's claws.
"no!" aurora yelled as she watched boyd slowly fall to his knees, derek's claws still inside his stomach. the hastings girl quickly tried to attack kali, the older woman simply punching her and pushing her back into the water, droplets flying everywhere.
"aw, is someone angry that their friend died?" kali teased, a fake pout on her face. "now you know how it feels. and it must hurt even more since you're the protector who wasn't able to save him." she then started to walk towards the doors of the loft. "i'm giving you till the next full moon, derek. make the smart choice. join the pack. . . or next time i'm killing all of you."
with that, kali and the twins walked out of the loft. aurora shifted back to normal, her attention going to boyd and derek. she quickly got up, hoping that her abilities would be able to heal him even if it was from an alpha, she still hoped it work. cause she couldn't lose another person she cared about.
she gently took boyd off of derek's claws, the taller boy grunting in pain. she laid him on his back and pulled his shirt up, ignoring the tears that had started to cloud her vision. she quickly put her hands on the wounds, trying her hardest to heal him.
"it's okay." she heard boyd mumble.
"no, it's not." she told him, taking her hands away so that she could rid her face of the tears that had fallen. she didn't even feel herself wipe boyd's blood onto her cheeks. "it's not okay.
"it's okay, rori." boyd reassured. "i - i told you this before. . . and i'll tell you again. it's not your fault, rori. you were never our protector. i - i don't blame you. . . and erica doesn't blame you."
"i'm sorry." aurora whispered, more tears spilling over.
"don't be. . . it was worth it." boyd mumbled with his last breath.
aurora felt her heart break as she watched the light dim in boyd's eyes before it went completely out. she looked over to derek, who was in the same position that the twins put him in. but he had shifted back, and had a broken expression on his face. she had gently brought her hands up to boyd's face, using her hand to close his eyes. she then got up from the floor and started to walk through to the doors.
"rori." isaac tried, but he was ignored as she walked passed him and down the hall.
she saw stiles, cora, and lydia appear in the hall, stiles and lydia stopping her when they had seen the blood on her hands and face.
"rori, who's blood is that?" stiles questioned.
"boyd's." she answered.
a few seconds later, they all heard cora's cries come from inside the loft. lydia took off towards it, stiles doing the same, leaving aurora alone in the hall. she wasn't able to protect boyd or erica. she couldn't help but think about what her hallucination of her mother had said at the hotel.
"you're a failure."
if it wasn't real, why were the words so true?

heyyyyyyyy. i know it's been a while since i've updated this book. i feel like it's all over the place, and i struggled so much with adding aurora to the last scene and with her eyes changing color.
a lot of y'all have all ready figured out what's gonna happen, and y'all are correct. i'm still trying to see if i wanna make her change in the same episode that scott becomes a true alpha or in a different one. either way i know it's gonna be hard.
we have five more episodes left for 3a
but i hope u enjoyed this chapter :)
