It was a peaceful morning, you were gonna sleep in, you remember how comfy you were in your bed, having a really good dream. But that was about to be interrupted.
'Y/n! Wake up!'
You jolt awake, you realize it's your necklace, must have worn it over night, why does Hunter seem so anxious?
' i was sleeping in... what?'
'Um.. so about yesterday, when I was gone, a palisman was following me around..? And now he's in my room, and I think he wants me to be his owner, what do I do?"
'What???'
'I... don't know, just come over.'
'Can I come later i was having a good sleep and you ruined it.'
'No, I miss you anyway, come over, Byeeee'
'Hunter!'
He doesn't answer, he must have took his necklace off. That idiot.
You stretch out and start getting dressed, god today you were gonna sleep in, not fair. You pack your palisman in your bag and get ready for the day, you figured you could bring your palisman so yours and his could get along.
Then you walk down the stairs.
"You're up early, Where you going?" Mom asks.
"My job got raised from plant caretaker to golden guard caretaker." You say.
"My my, are you gonna be okay with that responsibility?" Mom asks.
"Im fine, he's a bit annoying though." You smile.
"You don't have to work that if you don't want to Y/n." She says.
"I don't want him to persuade you to believe things that aren't true." She says putting her hand in your shoulder.
"I'll be fine, I'm really strong mom." You grin.
"If you insist." She sighs ruffling your head.
"I'll see you soon." Mom smiles as you walk away.
"Bye mom!" you wave.
Before you knew it you arrived. Took you a bit to reach Hunters room but you made it. You knocked, no answer.
"I'm coming in." You say.
You open the door, to see Hunter on the ground with his palisman tugging on strands of his hair. You stand there staring for a while. Then you start laughing.
"It's not funny! This is wild magic! It's dangerous!" Hunter says pulling himself up.
"So how'd you both meet? Howd he find you?" You laugh.
"He was following the human and he wouldn't stop bothering me, and now I guess he followed me home." Hunter says.
"I think that means he chose you Hunter." You smile.
"Chose me?! I already have a staff though, and it's better it's not wild magic!" He huffs.
"Cmon, does he look like he could ever hurt you?" You say.
The Red Robin chirps. Hunter rolls his eyes.
"Guess I'll have to tolerate you for now..." Hunter sighs.
You bring out your palisman, you're kinda curious to see if the two of them would end up getting along.
"What are you doing, not two at once!! Ughhh." Hunter sighs.
Your fawn starts walking slowly to the little Red Robin. The Robin chirps and hops over to the fawn, nuzzling up to its cheek.
"Look how cuteeee!" You squeal.
Hunter rolls his eyes. Making you glare at him and shove him to the ground.
"Ow!" He whines.
"Give em a chance! Look! They're harmless!" You say pointing at them.
Hunter sighs. Then his eyes widen once he notices you grabbing his hand.
"Here, look pet them." You say, helping him extend his hand out to them.
Almost immediately both of them cuddle up to his hand. Making him blush a little. You glance over at him and see him all pink.
"They're... okay I guess.." Hunter smiles a little.
"There you go!!!" You giggle playfully pushing him.
"Hey? You have more experience with staffs and stuff do you think you could teach me how to use my palisman?" You ask.
"Uh.. I have some idea, I don't work with palisman... but it should be pretty normal with a regular staff." He says.
"Here, come with me I know a good place to practice." He says grabbing a hood and covering his face with it.
"Why are you hiding yourself?" You ask.
"After the incident last night im not allowed out, but who cares." He says, grabbing your hand, along with his palisman.
"What? Hunter this is dangerous..." You say.
"I'm fine, I'll be fine, don't worry about me." He says.
You squeeze his hand.
The 2 of you zoom about the hallways, till you make it outside.
"Uh... okay, i still need to figure mine out, I think I got it though." Hunter says hopping on his palisman.
"Hop on." He says.
You do as he instructs and hop on behind him, hugging his waist to make sure you don't fall off. He turns a little pink and tries to maintain focus on his palisman.
"Okay..." he mumbles.
The staff zooms into the air and completely lets Hunter take control of directions.
"Hey you got it!" You say.
"Shh." Hunter says.
"Oh sorry." You whisper, resting your head on his back.
His eyes widen when you do that and he starts sweating a bit out of embarrassment and anxiety from the palisman. For the last few minutes it remains silent, with Hunter feeling super stiff the entire time, he must be really focused.
Finally you both arrive. It's a empty field a little away bonesburrow, but it seems perfect to practice with.
Hunter manages to land steadily and take a deep breath once done.
"Gosh you were really focused." You say.
"I wasnt focused I was cautious, this is wild magic!" Hunter sighs.
"Just shut up about that." You sigh rolling your eyes.
"Whatever whatever, get your palisman out." He says.
You grab the wooden fawn and it emerged from wooden to a staff. You grin, and Hunter approaches from behind you.
"You don't mind do you?" He says reaching out softly touching your hands to position you.
"Not at all." You smile.
With that he grabs both your hands and looks over your shoulder.
"If you plan on fighting someone you should hold it like this." He says rearranging your hands on the staff.
"Okay." You say.
"But you can't just stand you need a fighting stance, show me your fighting stance." He says stepping away to watch you.
You try to get in your best fighting stance, and you watch Hunter examine you, where your legs are placed, how far your body is forward, and if you are crouched or not.
Hunter clicks his tounge a few times.
"You have the right idea but not quite." He says approaching you from up front.
"When you're fighting someone you need to run a lot to dodge right? And to approach." He says.
"So your legs need to be in a stance where your about to set off to run, like a stance similar to when you're about to run a marathon." He says.
You try getting in that stance. Hunter stares at you.
"Your legs are fine, but I didn't say actually look like your about to run, you gotta keep your body straight, keep your legs like that." He says approaching you.
He puts his hand on your back and one on your shoulder to pull your body more upward and he helps angle your arms the right way. You kinda get a little red faced once he put your hands on you.
"Okay, you're good." He says.
"So this stance, of you're ever planning on fighting someone you have to be in this stance at all times." He says.
You nod.
"Okay, now spells, spells on here are pretty basic, they can help enhance spells you use with your hands, which I can't do, but you can, you have to stab your staff through the little circle you draw for your spell with your hands and it help it enhance." He says.
"Try a spell." He says.
You decide to use plant magic, preparing your spell with your hands, then stabbing through it with your palisman.
"Wait wait wait not at me!" Hunter yells.
Too late, a bunch of flowers ended up pushing him up into the sky and he went flying. Immediately his palisman went flying to catch him, almost sensing he was in danger. Thankfully he landed on his staff safely.
"I'm so sorry!!" You yell.
"It's fine! It's fine! I'm okay! That was really good though!" Hunter laughs.
You help assist him get off his staff and help him down.
"Teach me more!" You grin.
"Ah.. okay." He smiles.
