Chapter 16 (Jingyi suffers for Wangyi)
"Another Grandmother type, don't think my days here will be of any fun!" the boy then sighs and slide himself onto the chair like a puppet dog still pouting away. Although, the comments is really rude towards the grandmother but the servants behind looking at his cute action and pouting cutely couldn't help but let out a sniff of giggles very softly and then frightenly stops for fear of being punished.
The rest of the family except Old Mdm Lan who is now sulking were all holding their laughing worms but also defeated in the end and laugh roaringly.
"Hahahahahaha..." making the Old Grandmother of Lans turns to tighten her own lips quietly.
Wangyi just sit there blakly but Xichen holds onto his hand and whisper to him
"Don't worry, after Wangyi finishes training, Big brother promise to bring you out for fun" Xichen told his cute ger brother. Immediately Wangyi straightens his back with those dark sparking eyes looking at his brother with those unspoken words like "You better keep your promise", then shooting them at Xichen who nods with understanding.
When the night is still, Wangyi was left in the new environment, everything around him is new, the bed, the pillow, the blanket and even the cent around his room. He misses the old natural smell from the glass and the fresh air in the Cheng tribes. Wangyi also starts to miss his Cheng Tribe grandparents who loves him so much.
There seems to be a tears when he tilt his head up to look at the crescent moon hanging in the sky amount the black pitch night. Wangyi sits on the window sills and starts to look at the far ahead of the night. First time in his life, Wangyi felt like his is wondering into the sea of unknown. What is marriage means to him. He knew that it means that he has to live with the person which is the third prince in the palace. Will he be happy and get used to the life in the palace, Wangyi doesn't know and what does the third prince looks like, will he ever makes his heart beats fast. Wangyi puts his hand in his heart and looking at the still night that gives of a sigh of peace, he closes his big phoenix eyes and let his long eye lashes resting on his smooth skin and starts to silent ask for someone that he can make his heart beats and also "what does it mean?". All these are now making him very confused and frustrated.
Finally, a loud sigh on his face. Then, he also remember his great grandfather the Elder Cheng who told him that "Life is what he makes out of it". Thinking of that Wangyi purse his lips and he decided that he is taking life into his own hands and make his own destiny. After that, Wangyi yawns and then went back to his new bed, settle himself comfortably and finally fell asleep.
The next morning, there is a knock on his door, making Wangyi frowns and he immediately takes his blanket to cover his head that has the long hair flowing to his waist....
"Ahhhhhh....." Wangyi groans and tries to go back to sleep
"young lady.... you need to wake up for training" one of the maidservant tries to wake him up.
The words even makes Wangyi more angry and so he shouted back
"I want to sleep...go away" Wangyi shouted and then wanting to go to sleep but this time another knock and it is soft and gentle yet familiar voice
"Wangyi, it is me...." Jingyi knock and then open the door and let himself into the room and saw a cocoon with Wangyi covering himself into a ball. Jingyi giggles and then tries to pull the blanket away and saw a ball of black hair and calls him
"Wangyi, let me help you to get dress for your training" Jinyi pat his shoulders as he tries to pulls the blanket away. Finally the flushed face of Wangyi appeals
"The servants calls me young lady...I hate it,,and mother told me to keep quiet.." Wangyi pouts.
Jingyi nods with understanding
"You already know why, as they report you as a daughter when you are born, so let it be. You are so beautiful, even a man with an iron heart will fall for you... hehehehe" giggles Jingyi
Wangyi pouts
"I don't want a man with iron heart, so cold and hard, I want someone that makes my heart beats fast" Wangyi still remembers those words and then he sit up with his long hair falling down like a waterfall onto his shoulder now against his think night sleeping grown.
"I heard the third prince is super handsome and intelligent, so maybe he can make your heart beats fast" Jingyi told Wangyi
Wangyi sighs and then looks at Jingyi
"I don't know, the hearsay is he is good looking but maybe he turns out to be ugly like a ugly duck" the cheeky Wangyi giggles and laughs.
Jingyi now pulls his friend out of the bed and help him to sit on the side of the bed. A basin of warm water there to clean Wangyi smooth face, hands and his neck, then a wooden tiny brush insert into Wangyi mouth and begins to brush his teeth with a paste that they brought it from the Cheng tribes. After that Wangyi bubbles the water in his throat and spit them into the basin and Jingyi wipe his lips.
Wangyi sits in front of the mirror and let Jingyi comb his long straight shining black hair. The hair of Jingyi is very gentle as the silky long hair is just too beautiful to be handled roughly.
"Wangyi, even only your hair can make anyone envy till death" Jingyi smiles as he comb and then styled it with half a bun, then tie a light blue ribbon over it.
Wangyi heard it and got a shock
"D-Do you mean, the fast heart beat can come from long hair?" Wangyi asks with his curious eyes making Jingyi giggles
"Yes!, it can add more heart beat, alright" Jingyi told Wangyi and Wangyi looks intensely and then burst into a laugh.
"Y-You are trying to trick me" then the cute boy starts to chase after his friend who is now running inside the room, playing hide and sick until they are so engrossed in their own playing world when a loud
"AHEM..." jolt them out of them fun
The old Mdm Wang is now standing at the door
"We are to start our training" she told Wangyi sternly. Both of them stops instantly and look at one another and then nods their head at Mdm Wang.
They were brought to a large study room, where there were many books and some rolls of chairs in the middle of it all.
Old Mdm Wang puts on a very serious face and told Wangyi
"How much do you know about the third prince?" Old Mdm Wang asks Wangyi
Wangyi shakes his head
"Must be number three in the royal family then" Wangyi pouts with his lips and making Jingyi almost lost it and giggle but he managed to holds because the Old Mdm Wang is really stern and serious
Old Mdm holds onto her stern face and told Wangyi
"The third prince was born by the emperor favourite concubine Ching-er and he is much valued by the emperor. a very good looking man with high marital art skills and intelligent in war strategies. He loves travelling and thus he is travelling now" Mdm Wang told Wangyi who seems to be playing with his straight hair trying to curl them with his fingers.
"Did you hear what I say?" Mdm Wang asks
"Yay yay, good looking"
"Expert in Marital Art and warfare"

"Love travelling and now travelling"
Wangyi is also intelligent and he has the brain of never forgetting anything that he hears and so even if he is playing with his hair, he listen all in.
The Old Mdm Wang who took in the role of the teacher felt a but annoyed as her student seems not to pay attention but managed all the answers correctly.
"Alright, let's starts with the basic, I will place 5 books on your head and you need to balance them for five hours with your back straight and your head tilt straight and upright"
Mdm Wang then starts placing all the books on Wangyi head and makes him sit on the chair. Wangyi is not a child that can sit still as he has grown up with freedom and every cells in his body is rejecting the order but he knew that he has to do this for his family and so he endures it but a dejected face.
However, not even more than 30 mins and he starts to wriggles his back and so all the books fell on the table next to it...
Wangyi knew it was wrong but he is just too damn boring and so he yawns and asks with his cute eyes without noticing the fiery anger in Mdm Wang's eyes.
"What must I sit so straight for so long.... might as well have a dead corpse for the prince" Wangyi talks as he yawns and does not really cares about the falling books, he has been loved since young and adores till now.
Mdm Wang has already been poisoned by her own old master Mdm Lan and so there was already a sinister in her heart and so she took a cane quietly wanting to hit Wangyi. Mdm Wang hand was high and then when he was about to hit Wangyi's back, Jingyi jumps in front of Wangyi and took the stokes of the cane without even a sound but just a silent groan
"ahhhh....." Wangyi felt the heavy weight on his back and then realized what is happening. His anger is so high that he immediately took the cane from Mdm Wang and glared at her.
"You dare to want to hit me....." Wangyi lift up the cane and hit on Mdm Wang shoulder while she screams out loud
"Ahhhhh.....the student is hitting the teacher" the loud screams attract all the attention of the household and everyone came into the room whee the scene or Mdm Wang hold onto Wangyi hand who wanting to give another hit while Jingyi is holding onto Wangyi hand to prevent him rom hitting the Old Mdm Wang
Then Mdm Wang Old Mdm Lan and immediate wail loudly
'Mistress, I am doing my best and I got bullied by the young mistress" Mdm Wang wail loudly to Old Mdm Lan, and before Old Mdm Lan could even raise her voice. Cheng Ching steps in
"Wangyi, you tell...." Cheng Ching knew her own ger son true and true. He ger son is so soft hearted and loveable, why would she hit the old lady if she has not in anyway did something to Wangyi or maybe Jingyi, looking at Jingyi back with the dust of a cane on the white dress, immediately she knew the answer.
Wangyi throws the cane on the floor
"She wants me to hold five books on my head for five hours and when I drop the books, she wanted to hit me and Jingyi cover me and got hit.... how can she hit people...bad people" Wangyi red eyes and red nose makes everyone heart melted. Then Wangyi runs to his mother and hugs.
"Explain, why must have five hours of holding the books on his head" Cheng Ching eyes are angry with fiery.
"Ahem, so to train for a straight back when sitting elegantly" Mdm Wang reply with a proud face.
Cheng Ching sneers at her
"You can just tell Wangyi to sit straight, he has a straight sitting posture, we are Cheng tribes sits straight and eat, we don't need training, this is the basic etiquette of eating, didn't know that the city people needs to be taught, even the servants sit straight up and eat" Cheng Ching told everyone. Lan Yiyuan immediately side his wife
"Wangyi is intelligent, you just need to tell him" Yiyuan told the old Mdm Lan
Old Madam Lan looks at her own master with fear, Old General Lan also adds in to defend Wangyi
"I wonder if Wangyi becomes the third prince former wife meaning his status is higher than any of us, then those who constantly offend or annoyed him, what would be the consequences" this statement immediately makes Mdm Wang "Thub" on her kneels, kneeing and seeking forgiveness.
"Please forgive this lowly woman please" Mdm Wang kneel in front of Wangyi and asks for forgiveness.
Wangyi just looks at her and don't know how to react, then Cheng Ching took over
"I will supervise the learning and Mdm Wang just just tell us the protocols. Anyway, Wangyi is brought up by me, No one, absolutely, no one can punish him unless it is the family decision. I wonder who gives you the guts to punish him....." the glaring eyes of Cheng Ching is not to be taken lightly and Yiyuan can see the anger in his wife. She is calm and sweet and patience and it does not mean that she can be bullied, after all the future leader of Cheng Tribe, she has been brought up with a strong will and a protective instinct over her family and her tribe.
Wangyi smiles and then told Mdm Wang
"Y-You go and apologise to Jingyi, lucky that you are old or I will ask Jingyi to hit you back" Wangyi pouts and looks at Jingyi with an apologetic face. However, Jingyi smiles and nods and mouthed to Wangyi "Not painful".
The days inside the Lan Mansion is really hard to bear for Wangyi. He is brought up a free bird and now he felt like he is being locked inside a bit cage. He study the art of making flowers, sering tea, calligraphy and even sewing. Also, those names of people in the palace and their rankings. As well as the type of occasions where he needs to attend and also how to walk beside the husband. He also taught how to sit and which way to drink the wine. All these are really boring stuff. He also learns all the three thousands over rules in the palace drive drives him to near death.
Now, the lively Wangyi sulks everyday and pouts like a duck when it comes to learning lessons. Still because of his family, he endures it all.
Until one find day, his mother notices his depressive mood and told him
"Tomorrow we will stop for a few days because your father and I have to go to the temple which is far away to ask for blessings for your wedding, It is a day journey there and a day back, we will spent a day resting in the temple, so will be back in three days time" Cheng Ching told her son.
Wangyi heard everything and tries to suppress his urge to burst out in joy and just took a blank look out of the sky so as not to let his mother knows that he is happy to the bones with three days break.
"Alright mother, I will be good to revise all that I have learn..." Wangyi with a serious face told his mother. His mother flick his head and giggles
"Don't run outside and play, I will be very happy, revise is definitely not in your bones" Cheng Ching knew her son true and true and then both mother and ger hugs each other and giggles away.
The next day, Lan Yiyuan and his wife are now at the entrance with Wangyi and XIchen. Cheng Ching pat Wangyi head and told him
"Don't go outside, if Brother brings you out must wear a veil, understand?" Cheng Ching eyed her son, looking very worried because of his look. Wangyi grin from left to right and then leans into his mother,
"See, See, even standing at the entrance, I wear a veil, of course, I will always wear a veil when out alright, don't worry. Go with father" Wangyi push his mother onto the carriage.
Cheng Ching walks into the carriage with Yiyuan already waiting and draw up the curtains to wave at them. Xichen is standing next to Wangyi and nods to his parent acknowledging his responsibility to take care of his little brother.
As the carriage about to start, Wangyi frowns and then very seriously, draw up the curtain again and talk to his father
"Don't bite mother again, it is painful for her to have swollen lip" the serious looking Wangyi with his brows together is super cute, making Xichen and Jingyi holds their stomach and laughs, making Wangyi very annoyed.
"SHUT UP!" to the two of them and then found that his parents face a bit red. thinking they must have took in his message and very satisfactorily lower the curtains and let them off.
As soon as the carriage rolls off, Wangyi immediately turns to Xichen
"Brother, take me out for play" Wangyi shows his puppy eyes but Xichen sigh heavily and pats his head.
"Wangyi, I have a lot of things to settle in the military when father is away, maybe another two days, alright" Xichen looks at his brother helplessly as he had to take over his father role and thus he could not bring his cute brother out for fun.
Wangyi shows a disappointing face and then lower his head
"Alright, I will wait for brother then, now I will go in and revised my work" Wangyi smiles at his brother with a pitiful face.
Jingyi just looks at the elder sibling of Wangyi and sign "You are no match for your cute brother"
As soon as they are in the room and Wangyi make sure that no one flows him, he jumps from chair to chair like a monkey and shouted
"Wow...free for three days...hahahahaha..."
"Jingyi, quick, bun up my hair like a man and take out the manly clothes and then we go out and have fun" Wangyi told Jingyi.
Jingyi frowning and he tries his best
"Please.....Wangyi, better stay here or there might be harm to you...h-how..w-what can I do" Jingyi pulls Wangyi sleeves. Wangyi pushes the hand away and pouts
"If you don't follows me, then I will go out alone" Wangyi folds his arm on his chest and Jingyi sign internally, how can he every let this young boy out of his sight.
With a very different decision, he finally agrees
"Okay, let go out and play but you must be careful and never take out your veil, alright" Jingyi told Wangyi and of course the boy is jumping up and down like a monkey....
