Bora groaned as she was slowly regaining consciousness somewhere, her head and body feeling really heavy. She felt like her limbs were still sleeping and that her eyelids had become rocks because moving any of them was a hard task. The last thing she remembered was that she was unpacking her and her girlfriend's things in her room after their little argument. There was a sound at the window and next thing she knew, she was here, lying somewhere that was pretty cold, unable to move her body as of this moment. After about a good minute, she finally was able to open her eyelids as she looked around the room which appeared to be a little holding cell. How the hell did she end up here?
As she was trying to understand where she was and what happened, a woman entered the room with a little tray.
"You're finally awake" the woman smiled and Bora realized her face was oddly familiar.
"Y-you... What did you do?" the hunter asked, really confused by all of this, still not able to really process anything in her brain.
"You need to eat first and then we will talk" the woman stated, putting the tray in front of the bed. "Were they starving you?"
"W-what?" Bora asked, rolling on her back, still feeling like a huge boulder was pressing her down. "What are you on about?"
"I asked if they were starving you" the woman repeated. "You look like you could use something to eat"
"Maybe b-because you took me somewhere and induced me with s-some chemical shit? Why the h-hell would they starve me?" The small woman asked, wanting to raise her voice but not able to.
"Because they're not who you think they are. Neither of them is really your friend" the woman stated, shaking her head. "Come on, little one, eat"
"What do you think you are doing?" Bora asked slowly turning her head towards Vera. "Of course they are"
"They're not. You can't know this but you were staying with them because they were mentally forcing you to. It's complicated to explain, alright?" the older woman sighed, picking up a glass of water and handing it to Bora. "What's your name, sweetie?"
"I seriously think you kidnapped the w-wrong person, bitch" Bora stated, shaking her head.
"You have to drink or this feeling won't go away" Vera said, pointing at how difficult it was for Bora to just move. "You will understand what I mean as soon as the charming effect will be over"
That made the brunette think. Was it just chance that she mentioned that or did she know about vampires? Either way, Bora couldn't risk telling her.
"W-what kind of paralyzer did you even inject me with... I can barely move!"
"It's a strong one... for people a lot stronger than you" Vera stated, forcing Bora to drink a few sips since she couldn't really pull away.
"I'm not drinking... any of your poison" the hunter insisted, not swallowing it and turning to the side to let it dribble out of her mouth.
"Here, look" the woman sighed, taking a few sips from the glass. "No poison... you will be fine, while I'll have a really bad stomach ache" she sighed.
"Look... I'm not t-trusting my fucking abductor" Bora spoke, really finding what Vera said weird. Did she just mean that the poison didn't affect her? If she was a vampire, Minji or Siyeon would've noticed right?
"I'm not an abductor, I'm saving you" Vera sighed, putting the glass down. "As soon as the charming power will be over, you will see that yourself. You'll realize you were just a snack for them" she added, pointing at the bite marks on Bora's shoulder, pulling her shirt a little bit down.
"Get your p-paws off of me" the latter stated, locking eyes with the woman. "Those people you're talking about are my friend, my childhood friend and my freaking girlfriend"
"They're not your friends, they're just charming you into believing that" the woman sighed, moving closer to the bites on Bora's neck and sniffing a little. "The blonde one is the one keeping you charmed... she has to be a really powerful one if the effect is still not over"
"Stop sniffing me, pervert! And stop spouting nonsense!" The brunette growled, managing to slap Vera's head.
"Look, I'm trying to be nice with you" the woman stated, locking eyes with Bora. "I suggest you do the same with me or I could simply order you to act kindly"
"Kind? You're acting kind?! You paralyzed me like a pet and are accusing my friends of being some freaks" Bora started panicking a little.
"I'm accusing them of being vampires, just like me and my husband" Vera stated, locking eyes with Bora. "But we don't kill humans"
"Y-you're joking right?" The latter asked. There was no way a vampire would just out itself like that.
Vera let out her fangs without any problems, looking straight into Bora's eyes.
"Do you think this is a normal village, have you looked around?" she asked with a scoff. "Vampires are the most common thing you can find... and there are worse things out there"
"Why did you... just show me that? And what do you mean with worse things, crazy woman"
"I mean that if you see what's out there... vampires won't look so evil" Vera scoffed again. "But enough of that. Is the charming over yet?" she asked, grabbing Bora's chin and looking in her eyes.
"Get away from me! And c-can you just answer? What's out there?"
"Creatures that you don't want to meet and that I don't want to mention" the woman said, looking serious. "Sometimes that's enough to get you dead"
"At least those creatures didn't paralyze me and put me in a fucking cell" Bora spat, trying to move away a bit.
"You're right, they would have killed you" the woman stated, putting her fangs back in, not wanting to scare her.
"I'd rather be killed than whatever you are your husband have planned" the hunter hissed, swatting her hand at the glass of water on the little night stand to knock it over.
"We don't want to hurt you or harm you in any way" the woman whispered, shaking her head. "We saved you from vampires that were using you to drink... They would have killed you"
"She. Is. My. Girlfriend! What's so difficult about that?!"
"She charmed you into believing that" Vera said, shaking her head. "Just wait here and you'll see... the effect will vanish and if it won't I will just charm you into escaping far far away from them, so you will be safe"
"Don't you fucking dare! I love her!" The brunette managed to yell, throwing a tantrum and knocking everything over that she could see. She didn't know if what Vera said was possible but if it was, it really scared her.
"I know you do, but it's just an effect of her power" Vera said, feeling really bad for the younger girl. "They tricked you the whole time and you don't even know, you poor thing" she said.
"No! You don't understand! Fuck you!" The smaller woman yelled, picking up a shard of glass from the shattered cup and throwing it at Vera out of rage.
"Show me your mates mark then. If you say you love each other, show it to me" Vera raised her voice. "Without it, you're nothing to her!"
"We didn't decide to do that yet! We talked about it earlier!" Bora countered, throwing something else, the panic getting to her.
"The effects are getting even worse" the older woman whispered with a sigh, grabbing Bora's chin and locking eyes with her. "Just look at me, I'll make sure you'll feel better in just a few seconds"
"Don't" the hunter stated, closing her eyes and pushing the woman away. "Get away from me! Freak!"
"You won't even remember her while you leave, you don't have anything to worry about. No one will hurt you anymore" Vera insisted.
"I don't want to forget her, just stop! You don't get it!" Bora thrashed around, punching Vera's stomach since her strength came back a little.
"What is it that I need to get? They're vampires and you're their snack" Vera stated, not hurt at all by Bora's punch. "You should know I'm not evil by now. You hit me a few times and you're destroying everything in the room, but I didn' hurt you"
"That doesn't prove anything! Get away from me I said! I love her and I don't want to forget" the brunette repeated, sounding panicked as she pushed the woman away again.
"Poor soul" the woman sighed, releasing Bora and starting to pick up everything she pushed down from the nightside table.
"What's going on down here, Vera? Did you not release her yet?" Berg asked as he walked through the door and into what Bora assumed to be a cellar.
"She's still under the charming power" his wife replied. "That vampire must be really powerful"
"They did look powerful" the man agreed. "Did she do this or did you?"
"She did. She said she's in love and that the blonde one is her girlfriend" she sighed again.
"I don't really appreciate her breaking our stuff while we're just trying to save her" Berg sighed, walking to one of the cupboards. "Can you get the syringe? I'll get the sedative so she calms down again"
"Let me just try again once more before we do that" Vera sighed, sitting down beside Bora.
"You're sick! Both of you! Just leave me be! I love her, don't you dare take that away" Bora yelled at her, kicking the chair from underneath Vera.
The woman fell down on the ground and glared at Bora before standing up again.
"The charming power was never this strong" the woman mumbled, sounding a little bit confused. "Could it be... true?"
"Come on, baby, don't be fooled. They are foreign and we don't know how strong the vampires are there. I really don't want to have the death of this young woman weighing on my conscience. Does she have a mating mark?" Berg asked, knowing human-vampire relationships were a thing but those mostly became vampire-vampire relationships soon.
"She doesn't but she said they were talking about it" Vera said, moving closer to Bora and bending down to inspect the bite on her shoulder.
"Leave me alone! Go away and bring me my girlfriend!" Bora hissed, pushing Vera back yet again.
"I was trying to see if I could support what you said, since from the mark the bite doesn't look rushed, but really gentle. But maybe Berg is right, you need to calm down first or you will just keep hitting us" she sighed, shaking her head.
"Gently bites are common for girls who were captured and forced to be girlfriends, Vera. You know that. An aggressive bite could break the illusion" the man explained, grabbing a syringe at which Bora panicked more.
"Don't you dare! I don't need to calm down! I don't fucking need to calm down! Just let me go!" She desperately pleaded, memories of when she was captured by Elkie flooding back in her mind.
The woman looked at how panicked and scared Bora looked and it just didn't sit right. The other people they saved from local vampires looked really confused and lost after being taken away from the vampire who was charming them, but this one looked scared and desperate to go back.
"If we don't use that on you, will you calm down and explain in a civil way?" she asked to Bora while she took her husband's hands in hers to stop him from preparing the syringe.
"I already explained everything but you crazy freaks won't believe me!" Bora hissed, gritting her teeth.
"She's really far gone, baby" Berg whispered, slowly shaking his head. "I don't want to know how long they got her already..."
"But... this looks different, doesn't it?" the woman whispered, cupping Berg's face. "What if she's telling us the truth and we're not believing her?"
"We heard yelling and we could both see how protective that blonde was over her, as if she tried to hide her from us. This isn't just a snack I fear, I think... It's a lifelong supply of food" the man whispered back.
"Maybe she was protective because she really is in love with this human?" Vera countered, not liking the sound of what her husband said. "I don't want to act on this until we know if what we think is true... I don't want to risk to break two mates apart. That would be... so cruel"
"Okay, I agree with you. But as soon as we see a sign that this girl was used, we save her. But until then she will need to stay here and be quiet and calm, baby"
"If she's just food... they won't even look for her. They will probably think another vampire killed her and they will find another one" Vera countered, turning towards Bora. "If they look for her... maybe part of what she says is true"
"Or she has a rare blood kind. We had some cases where the vampire searched for their snack" Berg responded.
"True" Vera sighed. "Will you stay calm and quiet so we don't have to use that on you again?"
"I won't do anything for you! I just want to get out of here. And if you're planning on hurting me, just kill me" the hunter screamed, panic clouding her mind since she felt the pain and hurt of the last time she was in a situation like this slowly creeping in.
"We don't want to kill you, we're trying to save you" the older woman whispered, shaking her head and moving closer to Bora, pinning her arms down on the bed and looking at her husband. "Just do it... she won't calm down"
"Let go of me! Take your hands off! I don't want to be here" Bora struggled, thrashing about. "I will kill you! I'll kill both of y-..." she was saying when she suddenly felt all the muscles in her body tense as Berg injected the sedative into her neck.
"It's okay, you will be fine" Vera whispered, caressing Bora's forehead. "You will understand it's for your own good... we don't want to hurt you"
The brunette wanted to scream, curse, yell and a lot of other things but nothing came out. Her body just refused to listen as if it was frozen in place. She looked between the two of them, really panicked about what would happen to her.
"Close your eyes and try to sleep" the woman said, standing up and walking to her husband. "No one is going to hurt you" she reassured her.
"She can't close them for the next hour or so, Vera" Berg said. "We'll have to block the light from reaching them so she can rest" he added, feeling a bit bad that he didn't think about that.
The woman nodded, covering the little window in the room, trying to make it comfortable for Bora.
"You're really worried that we were wrong right?" The man whispered on Vera's ear, seeing the hesitation in her eyes.
"I really am. We saved plenty of humans but none of them fought this hard" she whispered. "This vampire's charming power can be strong but... not this strong"
"I do agree that it's a little weird but we need to be sure... Maybe... we could test her blood? That way we can confirm that if the blonde comes searching for her, it's not because of her blood but because of the person?"
"That could be a way to deal with this but... if we bite her and the blonde is really her mate... she will fight us to death" the woman sighed. "We should drink without biting her"
"Do you want to do it or should I?" Berg asked. "I can do it to make sure you don't get problems"
"You're my mate, if you get in trouble, it's my problem as well" Vera chuckled, nudging his side. "I'll do it"
"You're right... we're mates so... I'm not risking anything. We both do it or we don't"
The woman nodded and sat on the bed, beside Bora, taking her arm and pulling it on her lap.
"We don't want to hurt you, we will just have a little taste of your blood" she said, not wanting to scare her.
The hunter just moved her eyes between the two vampires since it was the only thing she could do. She could literally hear, see or think about anything but she wasn't able to feel or move which was terrifying.
Vera made a little cut on Bora's arm and pulled it closer to drink a little bit of blood from it.
"It tastes really nice but... It's nothing rare or exceptional" she explained.
"I agree with you, so if they come after her, we at least know it's not for her blood" Berg agreed after he took a sip as well.
"Exactly" the woman agreed, pecking Bora's arm and keeping it on her lap, gently trailing her fingers on it to try and relax Bora. "If the blonde woman comes for you and she can prove she's your mate and she's not just charming you... you will be free to go with her"
"She'll be alright baby, just make sure she's in a comfortable position and get something to cover her eyes so she can rest" the man smiled, always having liked this soft side of his wife. "We should probably go back to the tavern"
"We should" the woman nodded, taking the sheets and pulling them up so they would cover Bora's face as well. "Let's go" she sighed, not knowing what to think about this whole situation.

While all of that was happening the others had been waiting for Yoohyeon to get out of the shower and get clothed so they could start searching for Bora. Siyeon was getting really impatient and Minji knew that if this kept going, she would probably break the bathroom door down.
"Are you almost freaking ready?! You're wasting time!" The blonde vampire was yelling while violently bonking on the door.
"Hey, you need to calm down, Singnie" Minji said, grabbing her shoulders and turning the woman towards her. "We will find her"
"If she's dead... then it's all Yoohyeon's fault and I don't know what the consequences will be"
"Don't" Minji hissed, locking eyes with Siyeon. "I get that you're scared but don't threaten my mate" she growled.
"She's the one who fucking booked us this ceeepy ass place and got all the attention on us back at the tavern, Minji. If she could just stop being so stupid all the time, things would be way better!" Siyeon countered.
Minji growled louder than before and pushed Siyeon against the wall, wrapping her hand around her neck but not squeezing yet.
"I really need you to get back to your senses or this will end badly, Siyeon" she hissed. "Don't make me punish you"
"It's not your mate that disappeared, no reason to be worried right? As long as poor old Yoohyeon is safe" Siyeon growled, completely out of it because this was just too much to handle right now. She promised to always be there to protect Bora after Elkie took her and the one time they have a fight, this happens.
"Bora is part of the family and she's my friend... I care too" Minji hissed, squeezing Siyeon's neck a little. "Calm down before this gets out of hand"
"Is that why you're threatening with punishing me again? I've seen Yooh make a lot of mistakes but of course that's not important"
"I always try not to punish any of you. Yoohyeon never went out of control like you are now. You did this last time Bora disappeared as well, remember? And I let you off the hook because Yubin was there and her sister just went missing and I didn't want to scare her... but it won't happen again. So calm down" Minji growled.
"It's okay, babe, you can let her go. She's partially right anyway" Yoohyeon sighed as she finally stepped out of the bathroom and as soon as she did Siyeon hissed at her showing her fangs.
"Hey!" Minji growled, squeezing her neck and letting her fangs out as well. "Stop it, Siyeon. Put those back in" she hissed.
The blonde was clearly starting to struggle with the pressure on her throat and Yoohyeon noticed that as well so she grabbed her girlfriend's shoulder.
"Let her go, we need to go search Bora" the silver haired girl whispered, also feeling really scared by the disappearance of her friend but feeling more hurt now after hearing what Siyeon said.
"She will apologize first" Minji said, shaking her head and locking eyes with Siyeon, knowing it was vital for the balance in the pack to not let her off the hook once again.
"Babe, we can do this after we find Bora. Time is important right now" Yoohyeon insisted, already putting on her coat.
"I know, that's why she will apologize fast" Minji growled, glaring at Siyeon.
"Let... go" the latter breathed out, clawing at the hand on her neck since the lack of air was affecting her.
"Apologize for what you said and I will" Minji hissed, locking eyes with the blonde vampire.
"Minji... my mate is out there, don't... make me hurt you" Siyeon threatened, clearly not wanting to apologize.
"Apologize" Minji repeated in a hiss. "If you want to go look for her, then you will do it and you will do it fast"
"Babe, stop, come on we can't do this" Yoohyeon decided to step in, hitting Minji's arm so she released Siyeon. "We need to go" she added, knowing that what she did was a big mistake but she knew it was the best option right now.
Minji looked at Yoohyeon with an angry expression and she turned back towards Siyeon, pointing a finger at her.
"As soon as we bring Bora home, you're getting punished" she hissed. "Both of you"
The silver haired girl didn't comment on that as she grabbed Minji's arm and led her outside.
"We'll go talk to the people, would... would you just go search around Siyeon?" She nervously asked, a bit scared of the blonde right now.
Siyeon walked past Yoohyeon, bumping her shoulder against her and not answering her question.
"Call me if you find her" she simply stated as she started running.
"Let us go to the nearest cottage and ask if they saw something first?" Yoohyeon suggested, looking at Minji and noticing a disappointed look in her eyes.
"You do that" Minji said, walking in the opposite direction. "I'll check the other cottage"
"Babe come on, we should go together, for safety measures"
"Then you follow me" Minji stated, not turning around as she kept walking towards the cottage. "I make the calls" she said, feeling the need to make that clear now that both of them went against her authority"
"I know and that's not why I interrupted you. I did it for Bora's sake. Who knows how much time we would've wasted?" The younger vampire tried to explain herself, quickly jogging to Minji's side.
"It wasn't your call to make. You made a really bad mistake and you will pay the price of it" the black haired woman said, clenching her fists. "You being my mate doesn't give you the right to do what you did"
"I know, and I will accept whatever comes my way but I don't regret my choice if it ends up saving Bora" the taller of the two stated her opinion.
"You will tonight" the older vampire said, stopping in front of the cottage door and knocking on it.
"W-what... what are you planning?" Yoohyeon asked, frightened by the tone of her girlfriend's voice but before Minji could answer, the door opened and the older vampire smiled at the young woman.
"We're sorry to bother you, miss" Minji said with a soft smile. "We're looking for a friend but we can't find her so we are pretty sure she got lost because we're foreigners. She's brunette, this tall, thin" she explained.
"I don't think I've seen anyone like that but... I heard some weird noises coming from over there earlier" the girl replied, pointing at the cottage the vampires stayed in.
"Weird noises?" Minji asked, tilting her head. "What kind of noises?"
"It sounded like a little fight? It could have just been birds though so I didn't go check"
"How long ago?" Yoohyeon asked.
"About... 10-15 minutes? Not too long ago" the girl smiled. "I'm sure it was nothing though, otherwise Vera and Berg would've alerted us already"
"Vera and Berg? The owners, right?" Minji asked, thinking about something. "Do they always alert you when there are weird noises?"
"They like to keep their residents safe so as soon as something happens they alert every single one of us. It's easy to keep watch over everything since it's a little village and all cottages are close together. Except for the one over there of course"
"The one you heard noises coming from?" Yoohyeon asked, scratching her head. "That one is kind of secluded, isn't it?"
"Exactly and because of that that stupid rumor came into existence. I'm sure you've heard right?"
"What rumour?" The older vampire asked curiously.
"The one about there apparently being blood and dead bodies in that cottage?" The girl said with a little chuckle. "Everyone knows that"
"Blood and dead bodies?" Yoohyeon repeated with widened eyes.
"Berg told us about that earlier, yes. But that's just a rumour right?" Minji asked, starting to think that something was off with this village.
"Of course it is, but people believe everything you tell them so no one wants that cottage" the woman chuckled.
"Thank you for the information, we will keep hearing around" Yoohyeon decided to end the talk since they weren't getting anymore info from this woman.
They waved goodbye to her and they started walking in the opposite direction.
"We're going to find the owners" Minji stated, out of the blue.
"What about the other neighbours? The tavern is too far from the cottage to have noticed anything" the younger vampire asked.
"I said we're going to meet the owners" Minji growled, turning towards Yoohyeon. "Don't question my decisions"
"Babe, I'm not questioning it, I'm just... asking for an explanation" Yoohyeon whispered, keeping her head down.
"They alert everyone when there are noises, but they didn't alert anyone this time and I'm sure they did hear noises from our cottage" Minji explained.
"Okay, let's go then" the silver haired girl agreed, daring to link arms with Minji. "But... How can they have heard anything?"
"They were the only ones who stayed with us for a while. They probably heard where Bora decided to sleep, they knew they had the time to take her before anyone walked in the room because they knew the house..." Minji reasoned.
"Sounds valid" the younger girl agreed as the couple arrived at the tavern, seeing no one like the previous time. "So... I'm not going back there again to check if anyone is here, just to get dragged out by my collar" Yoohyeon whispered.
"Berg? Vera?" Minji called, raising her voice.
There was no response at first but after a little minute, Vera appeared behind them in the doorway with a smile. "You called?"
"I did. We lost one of our group and I was wondering if you had seen her around. We're very worried... mostly her girlfriend"
"I can imagine you're worried, my child" the older woman smiled. "Unfortunately I don't think I can help you though"
"Are you sure about that?" Minji asked, moving closer and smelling the air, noticing something about Bora's scent.
"Why would I lie to you about that, dearie? It's terrible that you lost her, I'm sure this is not how you envisioned your vacation starting"
Minji moved even closer, making the woman step back until she had her back pressed against the counter.
"Look... you can tell me and we can end this peacefully. Or I can wait for my friend to find out and I can watch her tear you apart, piece by piece for hurting her mate"
"Damn... you must be good. To smell us through the cold and the special perfume we use" Vera responded, locking eyes with Minji. "We noticed you first though"
"Where is she?" Minji growled loudly, locking eyes with her.
"Why? So you can use the poor girl again like she's a snack?" The older woman challenged, raising her voice a little.
"Like a snack? The only person using her like a snack is her mate, because they both want that!" Minji hissed, letting her fangs out. "Now tell me where she is so I can bring her home before Siyeon finds out"
"Aren't you ashamed? Charming a young woman into loving someone? I don't want monsters like you in my village"
"Charming? We didn-" Minji was saying when the door behind them flew open and all of the sudden Vera got slammed on the ground.
"Where is my mate?" Siyeon hissed, her fangs fully out.
Vera analyzed the look in her eyes to see if what they did was right and when she saw genuine sadness and desperation, she knew that they most probably were truly in love but she had to be sure.
"Do you r-" the woman wanted to ask when their was suddenly a shriek in the room as Berg had appeared behind Yoohyeon, grabbing her steadily with a syringe ready to sedate her.
"Let my wife go" he threatened.
"I will if you tell me where my mate is" Siyeon hissed, grabbing the woman's neck. "But if you hurt her in any way, I will hunt both of you down"
"Let Vera go or your friend dies" Berg bluffed, putting the syringe against Yoohyeon's neck.
"Siyeon" Minji called, knowing she couldn't do anything to prevent him from hurting Yoohyeon. "Please" she whispered.
"You have 3 seconds lady" the man raised his voice, staring at Siyeon, knowing Minji wouldn't risk attacking him.
Siyeon looked at the woman under her and she wanted to crush her neck, feeling the anger rising, but she turned around and looked at Yoohyeon and she knew that she couldn't risk her life like that. She let go of the woman and she stood back up.
"Where is my mate?" She asked once again, growling.
"First you answer our question" the man stated, still holding Yoohyeon. "What do you truly want with her?"
"Everything?" Siyeon said, looking at him. "Is she safe? Is she hurt?" She asked, tears threatening to fall.
"Of course she is safe and of course she isn't hurt. We took her away to prevent her from getting hurt" Vera coughed as she stood up, rubbing her throat.
"Bring me to her" Siyeon stated, moving closer to Vera and suddenly smelling something in the air. "You... you drank from her?" She asked, widening her eyes and feeling the anger rising.
"Only to check you didn't want her for her blood, just like all the other freaks that hire that cottage" Berg answered, sounding disgusted at the notion of those 'freaks'"
"You didn't have the right to do that" Siyeon growled. "I let go of your wife... now let go of her" she added, pointing at Yoohyeon.
The man hesitated for a little bit before pushing Yoohyeon forward and Minji quicklh pulled her into a hug.
"You think the rumor I told you about is just a rumor?" He asked. "Because it's not, it's a known place for vampires to devour their snacks... for some fucking reason"
"She's not a snack and she won't get devoured" Siyeon said, showing him her fangs in rage. "Bring me to her. Now!"
"The closet that's outside, open it, it's a secret passage that goes to the cellar" Vera sighed, shaking her head. She decided that those girls were really being genuine and that she and Berg fucked up.
The blonde instantly ran outside and walked into the closet. She followed a really tight corridor and she opened the door at the end of it. As soon as she entered she looked at the bed with a person on it, covered with sheets. She ran towards it and quickly uncovered the figure.
"Bora" she called, cupping her face and looking at her. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She cried, pulling her closer.
"C-can't... -ove" the brunette tried to say, still having trouble with properly moving her lips.
"What?" Siyeon whispered, confused. "What did they do to you" she mumbled, sitting down on the bed and picking Bora up to rest her on her lap as the others walked in the room as well.
"Is she okay?" Yoohyeon worried, immediately running towards them.
"She can't speak properly" Siyeon whispered, pulling Bora closer and pecking her head a few times. "I'm here, my queen... you're safe now"
"She's always been safe. And she will be like that for about 30 minutes to an hour" Berg said as he entered the narrow room as well. "It was a heavier dose"
"I should kill both of you on the spot" Siyeon hissed, caressing Bora's cheek and looking in her eyes. "She looks frightened" she whispered, feeling the anger rising as her fangs started pushing against her lip.
"You have the right to be angry... but I want you to know that our intentions were good" Vera responded, looking down in shame and elbowing her husband to signal he should apologize as well instead of make things worse.
"We saw plenty of humans charmed into staying with vampires. They were used as snacks and the vampires would never free them" the man explained, looking at Minji. "We could feel you were powerful and we wanted to save her"
"What you did absolutely wasn't right" the black haired vampire stated, glaring at both of them. "But I have a question. How did you know we were vampires but we couldn't smell you two were?"
"Because you're not used to tracing scents in the freezing cold" Vera explained, locking eyes with Minji. "It's always like this with foreign vampires. We can smell them but they can't smell us"
"Let's get you out of here, okay?" Yoohyeon whispered to Bora who was still in Siyeon's arms, kind of ignoring what the other three were discussing. "I'm so sorry that this happened to you again"
"I'll get her out of here" Siyeon said, letting out a low growl as soon as Yoohyeon walked closer.
"Why are you still acting like this?"
"Just stay back" Siyeon stated, standing up with Bora in her arms.
"She's my best friend and I didn't do anything wrong, Siyeon... Can you just please let me help you care for her?" the silver haired vampire pouted.
"No, she w-will just stay in my arms from now on. I won't leave her alone for one second. Not when she's with you, not when she's with anyone else" Siyeon whispered, shaking her head. "I'll be there all the time"
"I-... I get it" Yoohyeon slowly nodded her head, realizing that the blonde was blaming herself again for what happened. She wasn't actually angry at her but she was just searching for excuses.
"Good" Siyeon stated, pecking Bora's head. "I will keep you safe from now on and I'll turn you. No one will ever dare to try and get to you again because you will be a strong vampire" she whispered, not wanting something like this to happen ever again.
Minji kept scolding the two vampires for a little while and got some more information. One of the things being that this was apparently a vampire village.
"I hope you two will stay out of our way from now on, because if you don't, I don't care what happens next, understood?" Minji said in a stern voice as Siyeon and Yoohyeon started walking out of the narrow room to get Bora some air.
"Understood" the man said, nodding his head. "We just want you to know that we were trying to do the right thing, saving a human from a pack of vampires... we didn't know they really were mates"
"You could've literally just asked, or scouted more first instead of just assuming things! You scared Bora!"
"Other times we took more time to scout, to try and figure things out and when we finally decided to intervene... it was too late" Vera whispered, looking down. "We swore to ourselves to never take that long to save someone's life"
"Well good job, you messed up and probably traumatized a poor innocent human and caused trouble in my pack. Really well done" Minji stated, wanting to be sure her message had an impact.
Both Berg and Vera bowed their heads and the man pulled his wife closer, wanting to comfort her.
"We're sorry for the trouble we caused" he genuinely said. "We had the best intentions"
"Just don't cause us trouble again and help us if we need it and it's okay. Not forgiven, but okay" the black haired vampire said, looking at the both of them and nodding her head before walking to the exit as well. This trip already started off extremely badly with Bora being kidnapped by some do-good vampires and now she had to go home to punish her mate and soulmate. Why did simple missions always have to bring this much problems with them?
