"Okay. So the next question is, "What are good ways for girls to become friends with a guy?" Paola was sitting in the living room with her camera and lighting set up as Cyrus and Carter were sitting behind her, each of them sitting on two of the stools they took from our kitchen as Paola sat on a regular desk chair.
Justine and I couldn't wait for them to film this because Cyrus had been putting off filming it for days and we were eager to see how the video would go because Carter and Cyrus have very different personalities so the way they'd answer the question would be hilarious. She and I were sitting behind the camera watching.
Cyrus was wearing a red hoodie, the hood was on his head, as he chewed the gum on his mouth slowly trying to peak over Paola's shoulder to look at the questions on her phone before she turns and slaps his knee turning off her phone.
Cyrus sighs and shrugs, "The most obvious way is that you have to be attractive." he starts and Justine's jaw drops slightly, "If you want real advice, here it is, nine times out of ten, men approach women to be friends because they wanna fuck. It's unfortunate but it's true. Personally, you don't even need male friends because when you think they're your friends they're just plotting." Paola looks over at us and widens her eyes before she turns around to look at Cyrus
"So what about Karma and I? Are we not friends with you?" Paola asks and Cyrus lets out a snort and shrugs saying 'That's not the word I'd use, but okay.' and he cuts her off before she can continue
"I know the next question you wanna ask me and the answer is no. Carter, answer the question." Cyrus turns to look over at Carter as Justine and I try to hide our laughter by covering our mouths. Paola was going to ask if he ever thought either of us were attractive based on his logic.
Carter is sitting next to Cyrus wearing another red hoodie similar to Cyrus as the three of them had been wearing red due to Paola's rules to match whenever she does videos with people.
Carter smiles and states the back of his neck while answering, "I'd say try complimenting them? Guys don't get compliments often so if you wanna start off nicely that's a good way." and Cyrus sucks his teeth looking at him incredulously
"Nigga what? What are you lying to these women for? What do you want them to say? I like your shoes, wanna be besties?" Cyrus' voice picks up in pitch and this causes me to snicker quietly to myself, "Men and women don't need to be friends, y'all are gonna get your feelings hurt, I swear bruh."
Paola shakes her head at that and says, "Men and women can definitely be friends, Cyrus."
"Without at least one of them wanting to fuck the other? That's not friendship that's just sad."
Paola looks back at her phone with a laugh and shakes her head, "Next question. 'If a girl has no experience whatsoever, is that a turn-off?'"
Cyrus and Carter shake their heads and as if to say no but Carter speaks first, "No. I don't see anything wrong with that. Most of the girls I've met that don't really have experience, whether in bed or whatever, typically don't date as much because they have high standards. Which I can respect, I mean, you don't need to be out here looking for that sort of thing and settling for the wrong people so I'd feel honored if someone wanted to take that step with me." Justine and I 'aw' silently to eachother at his response which I found really sweet.
Cyrus looks over at Carter, "Ok." he clears his throat giving Carter a weird look, "No I don't care. Some guys do though. I think it's cool, I don't mind playing teacher. However, I don't wanna see none of y'all in my DM's, I got a girlfriend let that be known." He winks over at Justine and blows him a kiss, blushing at his statement.
Paola grins and looks at her phone to read the next question, "When talking to a guy what signs do they have to show for you to know they aren't interested? What are red flags?"
Cyrus is quick to answer this one, he's almost excited looking as he says, "If y'all are texting and he goes hours without responding. Hang that shit up, he doesn't want you. If a nigga really wants you he's gonna be on you. Like, you send him a text today and he will have already replied to that shit yesterday that's how fast he'll be to hit you back." Carter along with everyone else in the room nods their heads as Cyrus just keeps going
"This might sound harsh, but I'm tryna help y'all. If he's dry, not tryna get to know you or ask questions or anything. He doesn't match your vibe? Leave it alone he don't wanna be with you, probably wants attention. A guy will wanna match your energy at all times to keep you interested if you feel like you're the life of the conversation? Leave him alone, he's not for you."
Carter adds to that and says, "If he stays complimenting you over and over and y'all just started talking, that's a red flag. There's nothing wrong with him calling you pretty or whatever but nine times in five minutes is a bit much. Another thing, that brings me to my next point, a guy will let you know what he wants through how he texts you, so if he's constantly talking about sex or how you'd be in bed, that's a red flag. Especially if you're not the one that brought up the topic."
"All of that sounds about right." Paola says, "The next question is, What turns guys on when it comes to girls?"
Cyrus continues to chew on his gum as he speaks, "White nail polish." he looks at Carter who nods in agreement, "Nice smell, I like when girls have on different layers of scents. I like girls who look like my girlfriend. I like short nails." he motions to his hand, "The short acrylic, gel shits that y'all wear but I don't mind long ones." he grins, "I like the way it feels when she scratches on me I don't know that shit makes me fall asleep every time." and Justine nods confirming his statement.
Carter nods his head and crosses his arms, looking down at his lap, "I like a girl that has drive. When she's stubborn lowkey, it means they like to work hard. I like people that laugh really loudly naturally, like a laugh-laugh, they're usually the ones that like to take a joke." Carter looks up at me and pauses as he tries to think, "I like a girl that has a passion for something. Even if it's something they do on the side. I don't know I'm just really into smart women."
Cyrus laughs, "Damn. You fell hard for someone didn't you?" Cyrus looks at him before quickly glancing at me
"Something like that." Carter averts his eyes form and coughs awkwardly, as Paola, Justine and I sit quietly.
Cyrus shakes his head, and I already know what he's thinking because he's Jesse's best friend so I know he knows what's going on, "Damn, Anyways what's the next question." Cyrus wipes his nows with the back of his hand, placing it back in the pockets of his hoodie.
Paola licks her lips averting her eyes away from me to look down at her phone, "Ok..why do guys...um..." she pauses, "Why do guys date or talk to more than one person?"
Cyrus leans over Paola's shoulder to look at her phone to read the question, and he lets out a loud laugh. Justine narrows her eyes at him and shaking her head, Carter raises his eyebrows wondering what funny, and Paola and I sit quietly waiting for one of them to answer.
Of course, Cyrus speaks first, "Because they can't make up their mind. They like the qualities that multiple people have and when they put them all together it makes it harder to choose. I can't stand cheaters or two-timers or people that date two people at once. They have no business playing with people like that." Cyrus nods his head making eye contact with me and I know he's referring to Jesse, Carter, and me again since they're both his friends.
I don't know how much longer I can go without telling Carter if Cyrus is going to be this direct and remind me that I'm a horrible fucking person.
Carter laughs slightly and pats Cyrus' back, "I didn't know you felt so strongly about that." and Cyrus shrugs
"I know someone who's kinda in that situation now and I just know it's not gonna end well." Cyrus rolls his lips into his mouth and sighs
Carter says his own piece, "Well yeah I agree with everything he just said. It's all pretty accurate. Guys typically are less direct about their feelings than girls are so they're more likely to do this kind of thing, never really heard of any women that date multiple guys but I'm sure they exist. I don't like two-timing either but it all stems from the idea of wanting something the other person can't provide so they find it in someone else. Ladies, you should always know your worth in these kinds of situations."
