"What!? A quirk assessment test!?" The entire class minus a few yelled.

"But what about orientation? We're going to miss it." The petite brunette from earlier pointed out.

"If you really want to make the big league you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at UA we're not tethered to tradition. That means I get to run my class however I see fit." Aizawa informed them, causing a few pained gasps.

You've been taking standardized tests your whole lives," He paused as he pulled out a sort-of tablet and showed it towards his student, " But you've never used your quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to prove that we're all equals by not letting those with  the most power excel. It's not rational, one day the ministry of education will learn." Before turnng towards Bakugo, "Bakugo, you managed to get the most points in the entrance exam. What was your farthest softball throw distance in Junior high?"

"67 meters, I think."

"Right, now try doing it with your quirk."

Once Bakugo had entered the circle, ball in hand, Aizawa explained the rules, "Anything goes just stay in the circle."

"Hurry up your wasting our time."

"Alright man you asked for it." Bakugo said as he stretched his arms, before yelling out a loud "Die!" as he threw the softball causing an explosion at the beginning which propelled the ball into the sky.

The girl stared at him with a dumb-founded expression, Die!? He's even worse than I remember.

"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities." Aizawa told them as the ball came to a stop "It's the most rational way of figuring out your potential as a pro hero." He advised? as he showed them the tablet which had said: 705.2 m.

"Wait, 705 meters, really?" Asked a dirty-blonde with a black lightning bolt in his hair.

"I wanna go, this seems like fun." Spoke a pink skinned girl with yellow horns in her hair.

"This is what I'm talking about, using our quirks as much as we want." Came a black haired boys with odd elbows.

Oh, crap. They called it the F word.

" So this looks fun, huh? You have three years here to become a hero, you think it's going to be all games and playtime?" Spoke Aizawa, before smirking "Idiots, today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gage your potential, whoever comes in last will have none and will be expelled immediately."

This caused multiple "Huh!?"s from the crowd.

While in any other case Haru would've considered this a lie, something about the look in Aizawa's eyes told her it wasn't

Haru mentally groaned at who she had been paired up against, 'Katsuki Bakugo'.

As she tied up her hair into a quick ponytail on her way to the starting line for the 50-meter dash.

"Runners, on your marks, ready, GO!"

Bakugo was relying on his explosions to propel him through the line, however it was like a spluttering engine that wasn't going to stop, unlike the Kanzaki girl who slid across her lane leaving a trail of crystals behind her, which automatically dispersed when she clenched her fist after she crossed the finish line.

"4.0 seconds."

"Haruka Kanzaki! Her quirk : Crystallization, it allows her to crystalize all sorts of molecules found in air. While crystalizing the molecules doesn't affect her much, crystalizing them in specific sizes and textures tends to drain her."

"Looks like I win, Porcupine" She spoke with a smirk.

"HEY! WHAT DID YOU CALL ME!?"

As Haru observed the rest of the assessment's she realized that Izuku wasn't really doing much better than an average human being so she decided to give him some advice.

"Remember don't let the egg explode." She quickly murmured into his ear, reminding him about the advice his idol gave him that day.

He gave her a small nod before walking towards the circle.

When the boy threw the ball the Haru was surprised to see it fly to an ordinary length until she turned to find her teacher's eyes glowing and his scarf flying everywhere.

So this is what his erasure looks like.

After that the two of them had a conversation which was inaudible to the girl but somehow she knew it wasn't too friendly.

As Midoriya re-entered the circle Haru bit her lip, she knew that if he used One for all at 100% now then he'd be out for the rest of the tests and be expelled.

She watched the boy throw the ball and saw the red veins of One for all appear only on his index finger, something that surprised her. She smiled as she saw the ball fly across grounds, bringing a strong gust of wind with it.

As the green-eyed boy clenched his fist, which included his now broken index, he spoke to their teacher,  "Mr. Aizawa, you see I'm still standing."

You always were creative, huh Izu? She thought before snorting at Bakugo's expression, the boy looked like a gaping fish, or well as she liked to call him, a Pomeranian.

Though she missed the tiny spark in his hands before he ran towards his childhood rival, "HEY DEKU YOU BASTARD TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT OR YOUR DEAD!" He yelled as he made explosions on his palm, while the boy in question let out a scream. However, before he got to the boy, Aizawa's scarf wrapped around his torso restraining him.

W-what..w-why the hell...is your scarf so damn strong!" Bakugo managed to struggle out.

"That's because it's a capture weapon made out of carbon fiber and a special metal alloy. Stand Down. It'd be wise to avoid making me use my quirk so much...It gives me serious dry eye!" Aizawa advised, his quirk activated. "You're wasting my time. Whoever's next can go ahead." He spoke once more his quirk now un-activated.

Three exams later it was score time.

She stared at the score board, realizing she had ranked in over-all #7, Not too good, not too bad. Perfect, she thought.

"And I was lying, no one's going home." Aizawa casually admitted, causing the entire class except the two black haired females stare at him with a dumb-founded expression, "That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the tests."

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat!" Came the trio next to the girl, causing her to wince.

"I'm surprised that the rest of you didn't figure it out. Sorry I guess I should have said something." Spoke a dark haired girl with a side ponytail, who Haru recognized to be Momo Yayoruzu, also a recommendation student.

This caused the entire class to stare at her with deadpanned expressions.

"That's it we're done for the day, pick up a syllabus from the classroom and read it over before tomorrow morning." Aizawa ordered, before walking away.

As the Kanzaki girl was walking home with with her red-haired siblings, she was stopped midway by Bakugo who didn't seem all too happy at the moment.

The twins looked at their little sister as if telepathic-ly asking her what to do. She nodded her head forwards, as if to say 'You guys go on.' The twins in return nodded before walking off.

"Yes, Bakugo?" She asked, finally turning the ash-blonde.

"It's about you and that damn nerd and you're quirks."

"Go on."

"How long...how long were you both laughing at me behind my back while pretending to be quirk-less!?"

The azure-eyed girl sighed before replying, "Nobody was pretending, apparently I have a rare condition when the quirk has been established in small signs, however the owner only has one joint in their toe. You remember that gem I found when we were kids?"

The boy frowned before nodding.

"That was my quirk establishing itself or well trying to. It officially showed up when I was 9. As for Izuku? Well I don't know about him."

When he didn't say anything for a few minutes she asked "Anything else?"

"I-I just want you to know t-that, even if you have a quirk I-I'm still going to beat you!"  He told her, clenching his fists.

However, unknown to him, this statement lit a spark in the girl as she replied, "You're free to try."

Before walking away like earlier.

Author-chan here!

So I just want to say that I don't consider this a Bakugo book, since the love interest is still undecided. That last scene was just to establish a rivalry between the two of them.
