The words 'mine forever' are still ringing in my head, I look up and look at Billie and rush over to her, and wrap my arms around her body.
Even though I feel my heartbreaking, her ex-boyfriend of 1 day is seen kissing another girl. Before long Jake and Ally have joined and we are all in a group hug.

Whilst Billie and I clean the dishes from breakfast, she gets a text from Michael and it says that he is coming over to get the rest of his things.
Billy's eyes become brimmed with tears again, and I hug her.
"Hey Avery,"
"Billie is up in her room," I say to him and he nods

"Ahh I see, well some exciting news, the real estate office called me and the house is going to be ready as of tomorrow," he says
"What! Really? To move into?"
"Yep!" he says

"Avery careful" Jake says snapping me out of my head

When we break apart we all sit in silence. Billie is silently crying, and I have my head in the palms of my hands. I know I don't have the right to feel this way, but it's her. She got what she wanted. She got him. I peek from my hands, and Jake has his arms wrapped around Ally.
I really wish Grayson wasn't such a fuck boy. But he still is the same person his reputation branded him as when we were in high school.
I trusted him and he broke me. Him being with her just proves to me that I didn't mean as much as him as he made out to me. For him to beg me to stay with him 2 days ago and then become official on Instagram only shows how immature he is.

After a while, I feel the bed shift and I see Billie wipe her eyes and grab her plate. It's probably cold now, she slowly eats her diner and we all watch when we realise we all burst out laughing. To us, this is the funniest thing we have seen all day, through this sombre mess.
We all get into the bed and I grab Lola, begin her upstairs, we turn on the tv to watch something on Netflix. After we finish a movie, Jake and Ally decide to go to bed, and I roll over with Lola and so does Billie.
"Billie" I whisper
"Yeah?" she says back
"We are going to be okay right?" I ask
"I think so," she says, and we go quiet, and we swiftly fall asleep.
I sleep pretty well before, a rise of vomit in my throat wakes me up and forces me out of bed. I make it to the toilet just in time to empty the contents of my stomach and I groan. I really need to get to the doctor. This is insane.
The vomiting wakes Billie up and she helps me get up. We can't fall back asleep so we head downstairs and make pancakes for everyone. One by one each kid rolls out of bed and Jake and Ally resurface and we all eat. Jake and Ally dropped the kids off at school for us this morning. They leave just on time leaving Billie and me at home.
Whilst Billie and I clean the dishes from breakfast, she gets a text from Michael and it says that he is coming over to get the rest of his things.
Billy's eyes become brimmed with tears again, and I hug her. Billie's coping mechanism is hugs. They are what make her feel better. We walk up to her bedroom and she gets ready and I leave her in the room when I hear the lock turn on the house. I meet Michael in the doorway
"Hey Avery," Michael says casually to me, and I merely smile at him
"Billie is up in her room," I say to him and he nods, I follow him up the stairs and wait in the doorway, and watch Michael throw his clothes in a few duffle bags he has, and they look like Grayson's bags. He must be staying in my old house.
I see Michael try to talk to Bille but she turns her head to him and he goes silent. The room falls dead silent and I can feel the tension go through the roof. He moves quickly and I hear him mutter goodbye before he walks out of the room. He walks right into me in the doorway, and I rehearse what Billie has asked me to tell him
"Michael, I will send you a schedule which has the time that you can see the kids, any contact or questions you need will need to come through me"
"Really Avery, you too," he says and I keep my face straight
"Billie is my best friend and you have hurt her" I reply and he nods walking out of the door and I resist the urge to tell him to tell Grayson to go fuck himself. I watch him walk down the driveway and drive off into his car. I walk back into her bedroom and Billie is picking out an outfit, which I assume is for work. Ally is at work today so I don't have anyone to work with me.
"Bil, what are you doing?" I ask her
"I have to come to work today," she says "Ally can't cover for me"
"No Billie, you are staying home to eat ice cream" I reply and she looks at me "I'm serious, you managed to work without me when I was grieving, now it is time to return the favour," I say and she smiles at me
"Thank you, Avery," she says
"I'm just doing what you did for me. What are friends for?" I say
I watch her put her clothes away and she tucks herself back into bed, this time with a novel. I get myself ready for work and make my way there. I open and we are busy within an hour. I have a couple of staff working with me, so it is bearable but I can tell that I need another person here with me.
As soon as my break starts I haul up in the back room, to hide away from the customers. I forgot how hard it was to be a server. I pull my phone out of my locker where I have 3 missed calls from Jake. I call him back and he doesn't answer so I grab a sandwich. I hear my phone a minute later and it's him, so I pick up the phone
"Hey Jay," I say into the phone
"Avessss" he starts "guess what" he adds and I can hear excitement in his voice
"What?" I reply quickly
"Guess"
"Jake, just tell me" I reply, a little aggressive
"No need to get mean," he says
"Sorry, it's been so busy today"
"Ahh I see, well some exciting news, the real estate office called me and the house is going to be ready as of tomorrow," he says
"What! Really? To move into?"
"Yep!" he says
"Oh my god I didn't think this would happen for another month, we are so unprepared" I reply
"We are so unprepared BUT WE ARE MOVING IN BABY," jake says
"AHHHH THIS IS AMAZING" I reply
"Look I've got to go, my boss wants me, but we are on the move Aves," he says
"Amazing, I will talk to you after" I reply and we hang up
This is the exact news that we all need right now. To distract Billie from Michael, and me from Grayson and Anna. This is beginning us all one step closer to the future where we can really start our lives away from the Baby Project.
