~Samanthas POV~
Right now I don't even know what period I am in. All I know now is that this is the period before lunch and thats all that matters.
Guess what? I bet you can't guess it. Never mind you probably can.
Emma is still complaining.
Just hearing her talking for this long is draining me out. I didn't even know that was possible!
E: I can't wait for practice today to see what kind of low life the coach made captain
S: same here
E: ugh I just hate this so much! I really wanted to be the first freshman cheer captain. It should have been me right? I'm not going crazy here
S: definitely
E: like I'm the one with the most experience after all
S: totally
I'm getting really tired of this bull shit. I don't even know what's going to go down after school but I'm really excited for it. There's no way I'm going to miss this.
I just got to stay up. You don't know how hard it's been trying to stay awake. Every sentence that comes out of Emma's mouth gets me more and more tired. I don't even know how it's possible.
But besides that. I got this.
A little more complaining came from Emma. No surprise there but soon after the bell rang. I already have all my stuff together so I just grabbed my bag and got out of that classroom as fast as I could, leaving Emma behind.
Once I made sure that I was in the clear and that Emma wasn't following me anymore, I let out a sigh of relief.
After that I made my way towards the cafeteria. It looks like I'm the first one in the group that is here so I hopped in line as I waited. A little bit of time passed before Payton, Flynn and Nora walked in a joined me.
We started talking as we got our lunch and headed outside to our table. Today's lunch was macaroni and cheese. We sat at our table in the exact same way as yesterday
Payton next to me, Nora in front of me and Flynn next to her. As we started to eat, I saw Emma in the corner of my eye. She was talking to someone but I can tell she's about to come over here because she saw me.
S: guys I'm going to warn you now so listen up. Emma is about to come over here. She's going to say some dumb shit but just go with it. Act clueless alright?
N: sure
P: ok?
F: what do you mean?
S: no time to explain
F: you could have quickly explained right there instead of saying no time to explain!
S: shut up
Right when I said that, Emma came over and sat down next to me.
E: hey guys!
P+F+N: hey
E: I bet you won't believe what happened yesterday
Here we go
P: what happened?
I continued to eat as Emma started talking.
E: so you know how we got our spots on our teams last night?
F: yeah?
E: I've been cheering for years now so I'm really experienced you know? Nora I told you about this yesterday
N: mhm
S: hurry up and get to the good part
E: oh right anyways, our stupid ass couch didn't give me the spot I deserve, which is cheer captain!
Everyone besides Emma looked at me shocked as I just chuckled and shrugged
N: um
E: I don't even know who it is yet. I can't even think about anyone that could even possibly fit in that position. I know that getting caption is hard but I at least should have been a flyer. After all, that's all I did yesterday
Now the boys looked over at Nora. She just looked annoyed and uncomfortable.
F: uh
E: oh Nora what spot did you get?
Nora looked at me and then back at Emma. I can already tell that she's about to lie.
N: base
Now the boys looked at each other confused as ever.
E: oh you did that yesterday, you were good in it. I'm a stupid back spot. That Alison girl from yesterday should be a back spot not me! Well that is if she even made it in. But that's not the point here. The main point is that I should be caption.
P: you think so?
E: a hundred percent. I'm clearly the better option here. No offense to you girls. I just know more things you know?
Nora slightly rolled her eyes as she started slouching.
S: and trust me guys, Emma has way more things to say about this topic. I've been hearing about this ALL day!
E: yeah this is really fueling my rage. If you guys weren't here to listen to me, I would have already been in the coaches office, about to start something
F: this... this right here is just... great. Can't wait for practice today.
E: I think so too
Flynn laughed right before Nora punched his arm
F: ow!
E: oh shit I forgot to bring spare clothes. I'll be right back, I need to call one of my workers
More experienced my ass
After that, Emma stood up and left the table while placing her phone to her ear. As soon as she was fully gone, everyone turned to me.
S: what?
P: what the hell was that! Why didn't you tell her you're the captain?
I just shrugged
S: she'll find out eventually
N: I completely forgot that she wanted that
F: am I the only one who's enjoying this right now?
I laughed as I leaned back into my seat.
S: it'll be fine. Just a few more hours.
N: she's a bitch
F: what happened to "I don't know her yet so I can't judge"?
N: well now I do know her and I'm saying she's a bitch! Self centered brat
P: calm down Nora. She's probably just upset that she didn't get what she wanted
N: I don't care! She has to grow up and deal with it. She's like eighteen!
Nora crossed her arms and furrowed her eyebrows.
F: princess, you're calmer then I expected. Why aren't you mad?
S: I was but I don't really stay mad for too long. I'm still irritated though but I'll be fine.
Right after I said that, the bell rang. Lunch went by way too fast. All of us threw away our trash before going inside
F: we'll see you after school.
S: sounds good
N: try to stay sane for me
I laughed as I nodded my head.
S: sure
We went our separate ways after that, I was walking with Payton to my next class. Lucky for us, Emma is still gone.
P: hey are you sure you're ok?
S: what do you mean?
P: well Emma was saying a lot of rude things about you.
S: oh that? Yeah I'm fine. People don't really bother me like that
~Payton's POV~
I don't know why but when I was hearing Emma complain about team captain, I just felt bad for Samantha. She didn't seem to care though.
S: since I'm a princess, most people usually have something negative to say about me. Like how I get whatever I want because I live in a "great" life. The people that don't know me are usually the ones that have the most to say.
...I was one of those people wasn't I?
S: It's been happening before I was even alive yet so I don't care too much about it. I live with it, so what Emma says, I could care less.
I never new about this.
S: anyways, my class is right down there. You can stop here for the same reason as this morning
P: ...ok
S: I'll see you later?
P: yeah. Don't fall asleep this time
S: leave me alone
I laughed as Samantha turned around and walked into her class. After that I walked away and started to head to mine. Once I got into my class I sat down near Flynn and Nora.
The class started and I'm not going to lie, I wasn't paying attention at all. Mainly because I have one thing stuck in my mind and I can't seem to stop thinking about it.
It was what Samantha told me earlier. All about how people hate on her for no reason. Just a few days ago I was doing that. Now I feel really bad.
I couldn't have said anything too bad to her right? I only said stuff in my head... and one or two things out loud like
...I don't like her... I hate her... we're not friends... spoiled princess... oh and I said a few things in Spanish...
WHAT THE FUCK! I ACTUALLY SAID ALL OF THAT TO HER FACE?
And she hasn't complained once?
God I've been such a dick. How am I just realizing this now?
N: hey are you ok? You look stressed
P: huh? Yeah I'm fine. I just realized something stupid that I did.
F: everything that you do is stupid
P: that's you not me. Get it right
Flynn glared at me as Nora laughed. After that for the rest of the class, I talked to both of them to clear up my mind. I don't want to think about this anymore. All I know now is that right when I see Samantha, after school, I'm going to apologize for everything.
~Samanthas POV~
I'm struggling over here. I really am. Would you believe me if I said she's still complaining? Because she is!
Shortly after I got to class, Emma walked in. As soon as she saw me, she sat down right next to me. To be honest that was a dumb move on my part. I was one of the first girls in here and I chose a seat with the most space around.
Whatever. The one good thing is that the rest of the day went by fast and the last class of the day is about to end in one minute. I'm ready to make a run for it.
I watched the clock as the time slowly went by. And then it happened. The bell rang and I was already out of the class. Keep in mind that I left Emma behind once again because she failed to realize that class was ending.
It doesn't matter though. The real fun is about to begin.
