Their last year flew by and much too soon graduation was around the corner. The seventh years had just finished their last NEWT exam and they were now sitting out by the black lake. Remus' head leaned on Sirius' shoulder, Lily and Fabian were engrossed in a conversation about apartments and living arrangements. Marlene sat next to Dorcas with a sketchpad and a pencil, occasionally glancing up at Dorcas. Peter was telling Griffin about a job opportunity he got at the ministry, it made Arabella happy to see Peter so excited, he really needed a win. Violet and Liam sat hand in hand with their eyes closed. The pair had finally admitted their feelings for each other (Arabella had helped a bit). Regulus had gone off somewhere to search for Slughorn.
And finally, Arabella's head laid in James' lap and he was playing with her hair. Two years they had dated now and there were still just as in love as when they started. She loved him with every fiber of her being and he would go to the ends of the earth if it meant being with her.
"I want hair like Farrah Fawcett," Arabella thought aloud
"Same" Sirius chimed
"You are gorgeous just the way you are" James hummed kissing Ara's forehead
"oh Prongs you flatter me," Sirius said in a high pitched tone
"actually Sirius I think a Debbie Harry would look much more suitable on you" Violet snickered
"pads if you change your hair I will go on a sex strike" Remus deadpanned
Sirius paled and his face dropped, "yeah I actually quite like my hair right now"
The group laughed for a long time until the laughter sort of just fizzled.
"Seven years," Fabian said in a reminiscent tone
"seven years" Lily smiled leaning on Fabian's shoulder
"seven years," the whole group said simultaneously
there was silence for a bit, but not an uncomfortable silence. it was one of those reminiscent and blissful silences
"hey where's reg" Griffin spoke up breaking the silence
"why missing lover boy?" Arabella teased
Griffin playfully smacked Ara's stomach which made her laugh
As if on cue Regulus appeared in front of the group looking all flustered and puffy. He looked like he'd been crying
At the sight, Arabella, Griffin, and Sirius shot up
"what happened?"
"are you alright?"
"talk to me, love"
Regulus looked overwhelmed and took a deep breath. two years ago he would have dismissed the topic and said he was fine. But if the past couple of years had taught him anything it was that these people, would be there for him no matter what. He loved and trusted them with his whole heart. So with that, he inhaled and muttered
"Greengrass approached me and said that now that my friends and boyfriend were leaving I would be an easy target. A blood traitor like me would be a 'fun kill'."
The whole group was stunned and each member wore a different expression. Griffin had tears in his eyes, Sirius was still processing, and Arabella was seeing red.
"you're coming with us," Arabella said which caused even more shock
Regulus met her eyes, "w-wha-"
"You're not staying here with those barbarians. I don't give a rat's ass about a job or graduation. You'll live with Griffin, or at the potter manor, or with me and James. We are sure as hell not leaving you"
James perked up when he heard "me and James". He knew he wanted to live with her after graduation. I mean, he wanted to marry her. But hearing her say it, knowing that she wanted it to made his insides melt.
"I concur. I'll be working as an auror and with the order business, you won't get bored. Please, my love, leave with us. It drives me crazy just thinking about you with them, alone." Griffin pleaded
Regulus thought for a moment before cracking a smile.
"Yeah alright," Regulus smiled before getting dragged into a hug by Sirius which Griffin and Arabella joined. Then Remus and James, then Peter and Violet, then Liam and Marlene and Dorcas and Lily and Fabian.
"can't. breathe. fatasses" Arabella breathed earning glares from all of them.

Arabella sat with Sirius, Violet, and Griffin in the great hall. They had finished packing and were now eating and chatting away.
"How's it going with Liam, Vi?" Arabella inquired
"amazing! feels like we're still walking on cloud 9, you know? He just...he makes me feel safe and that's all we can really hope for right?"
"that it is" Sirius confirmed.
Their conversation carried on, exploring future jobs, kids, the war, everything.
"Reckon you'll marry James bels?" Griffin asked
"yeah probably. I mean I want to, don't know if he does though" she said a little sadly
Sirius scoffed, "are you joking Ara? That man has been wanting to marry for two years now"
"he's right you know" Lily suddenly added. The group jumped up in shock and ara placed a hand on her heart
"Jesus Lils, where the fuck did you come from?"
"James is so deeply and utterly in love with you, a blind man could see it," she said ignoring ara
"you know I sometimes wonder why we weren't friends before" Arabella smiled
"I can't believe we weren't friends before. Fuck me and my pettiness" Lily stated
"you were a real bitch lils, but it's ok now, we love you" Violet smiled
"ditto" Arabella added
"I still dislike you" Griffin stated earning a smack from his twin
"hey hey I was only joking. You're chill Evans." he cried
"what you did to James was a real dick move then again he was a really annoying little prat" Sirius chuckled.
As if something lit up inside him, Sirius stood up, "oh fuck! Arabella, please come with me" Sirius said hurriedly
The group gave each other knowing looks whilst Arabella remained confused as ever. Nevertheless, she stood and followed Sirius out of the great hall.
Sirius threw an arm over her shoulder and began making small talk, occasionally throwing a joke or two in. However, Arabella being the most stubborn and impatient human to ever walk the planet was not having it.
"Sirius Black, what the bloody hell is going on?"
"what? I just wanted some quality time with my little sister" he said in a fake clueless tone
Arabella scoffed but knew she wouldn't be getting anything out of him any time soon.
The pair soon reached the room of requirement, Arabella knew because she and James would come here often to...read.
"Alright, my twinkle. This is where I leave you. I love you. Fais ce qui te semble bien et la reponse, c'est l'amour." Sirius winked
Arabella nodded slowly, extremely puzzled.
She went through the door and in front of her stood the love of her life. James Fleamont Potter.
He was standing in the middle of the room with a bouquet of poppies in his hand and a huge grin plastered on his face. Arabella couldn't help but smile at him.
"hello mon ange" she smiled
"Hello my love" he smiled with an equally big smile
"what's going on?" she inquired
"well, I brought you here because I have a question for you. You see from the moment you brought me to that Poppy field back in fifth year I knew I would follow you anywhere. I would follow you blind because you, Arabella Silvers, are the reason I get up in the morning, the reason I go to sleep in the evening. Because I love you with my whole heart and then some. I want you by my side, I need you by my side for the rest of my life. And if that means till tomorrow or in fifty years, as long as I have you everything will be ok. tu m'as ensorcelé corps et âme. You have bewitched me body and soul" James said as he pulled out a box and went down on one knee
Arabella gasped and clasped her hands over her mouth. Tears were streaming down her face but she was smiling nonetheless
"Arabella Luna Silvers, will you marry me?" James asked hopefully
Arabella couldn't form any words but she nodded vigorously and held her hand out, choking out 'yes' repeatedly.
James' face lit up like New York City at night and jumped up engulfing her in a bone-crushing hug.
When he released her, he brought his lips down to hers and placed a passionate, hungry kiss on her lips. They melted into each other and fireworks erupted in both their stomachs. They had kissed many many times before that but none were quite like this.
Before things could go further, they heard cheering and clapping. Shocked, they turned around to see their friends standing behind them
"disillusionment charm" Remus shrugged
Before Arabella could comment her twin brother raced towards her and enveloped her in a hug. Tears were streaming down both their faces as they hugged each other tight.
Arabella and James took turns hugging all their friends, embracing all of them just as tightly as the last.
As their friends remained talking and laughing, James led Ara away from the crowd. Not once did he let go of her hand.
"you alright my love?" he said a little worried that the whole thing was too overwhelming. Sure they were in love but they were still young. Barely 18 and not even fully graduated yet.
She responded by flinging her arms around his neck and kissed him, smiling into the kiss. James happily complied, leaning into the kiss and placing his hands on her waist. The kiss was sweet and the two melted into each other. For lack of other words, it was perfect.
"I'm absolutely, utterly, and completely perfect," Arabella said blissfully once they parted.
"ready to head to the ceremony?" Liam yelled from the crowd
"as ready as I'll ever be" Arabella smiled.
And so the group's time at Hogwarts came to an end. But don't be mistaken, their lives were only just beginning. They leave Hogwarts together, but will they remain together.
