chapter eight - texting

it was a thursday night and you were sitting on the couch in your apartment. the restaurant was closed this week and next week for renovations, which meant no work, which also meant no money. you hadn't seen billie in almost a month now and you were still thinking about her. the weekend had meant more to you than it should have. your phone buzzed.
billie : hey
you had completely forgotten that she had added her number to your phone one of the days you were staying with her.
you : what's up
billie : how are you?
you : i'm good
billie : are you free this weekend?
you : yeah why
billie : i'll pick you up on saturday at 9am,
pack for a night.
you : what
billie : see you then
you : okay?
what was she planning? another 'business trip'? why text you and not just another woman? she had probably slept with at least three women since you'd seen her.
