2nd person POV
You were sitting in practice watching the boys' practice match.
Red Team: Nishinoya, Tsukishima, Sugawara, Yamaguchi, Ennoshita, Asahi
White Team: Daichi, Hinata, Kageyama, Kinoshita, Narita, Tanaka
20 - 23 Red Team.
It had felt like you were sitting in that gym for ages. You weren't saying anything. Just taking notes with kiyoko and watching them play.
A little background....it had been about 2-3 weeks since your loss to Aoba Johsai, and since the night you and Nishi kissed. You guys were still extremely flirty and he once called you babe by accident- extremely embarrassing by the way. Had you kissed again? No, not any further then cheek and forehead kisses.
Everyone on the team had said you guys were dating but nothing was made official.
Everyone knew that you guys really like each other but there were no labels.
You were both extremely concentrated on volleyball so being in a relationship would have just felt like a lot. Honesty you guys haven't really talked too much. The last time you just hung out was last week and that was when Ojiisan made you both watch a movie with him. You would spend time together, at practice but only for volleyball, You would spend time alone but it would be when he wanted extra help or when you tutored him.
It was understandable that he was busy though you did miss all the time you spent together. But there was no intruding on volleyball, he needed to practice and that was that. He needed to get better.
'Y/n you have a lot on your plate as well. You haven't even talked to your parents about staying for the next term let alone year. Maybe I should call her. I haven't called her in a while. I think the last time i spoke to her was when we lost....' By the time you finished daydreaming the match was over, white team had won.
"Good! Let call it a day" Ukai said after blowing the whistle
"Common coach just one more set!" Hinata said
"Wha-"
"Yeah just one." Kageyama join in
"Look fellas, constant practice will only get you so far." Ukai continued as he looked at Daichi "Captain can you talk some sense into these-'' Everyone was standing there, ready to plead with their coach to play another match. "Ughhhh, knuckleheads" he mumbled.
After a few more sets it was starting to get dark out.
"Hey! You're not tired right?" Hinata said looking at Kageyama "Toss me a few sets"
"Right!" He responded
"How do you two have so much energy?!" Tanaka yelled
The boys stretched a little and goofed off when all of a sudden the gym door was kicked open
"Hey!" Takeda-sensei opened the door and fell right on his face.
"Sensei are you alright?" You all asked
"We're going!"
"Going where?" You asked
"Uh you got a nose bleed-"
"Tokyo!" He yelled, holding up a paper
"Like Tokyo Tokyo? Hinata asked, Takeda nodded. "That means? We get to?"
"We get to play nekoma?!" You and Hinata both asked looking really excited
"In a practice match?" Kageyama asked
"Yes, but this time it won't only be Nekoma. Nekoma is a part of the Fukurodani academy group. They are a group of schools that hold practice matches together all the time. And thanks to coach Nekomata, we get to participate too! Now we have other people to practice with!" Takeda explained, standing up.
"Groups like that are usually built on long standing relationships that take years to establish, so it's hard to get in without having some sort of special connection. We should thank coach Nekomata for the favor." Ukai said "You boys need to thank Takeda too, I'm sure he asked him a million times."
"Oh uh it was nothing!" He said waving her arms in front of him, "It helped by mentioning the old coach Ukai so"
"Thank you sir!" You all said, bowing.
"These past few years.... We have lost most of our connection we used to have with a lot of the teams. The coaches the old coach Ukai was friends with, well they've mostly tracefered or just retired. So this is our chance, let's make the most of it!" Takeda said
"Yeah!!!" You yelled with the team
"That set of theirs, I'll finally figure it out." Kageyama said, with an evil look on his face.
"Lets go make karasuno high proud ok!" Nishinoya said
"YEAHHHHHH I HOPE YOUR READY CITY BOYS, YOU GOT IT COMING NOW!" Tanaka added, yelling
"Wow you are so stupid" Tsukishima said, holing in a laugh
"Please stop saying that," Yamaguchi said, doing the same thing.
"Starting this weekend they will be pretty busy playing in preliminary matches for their inter high tournament so it won't be happening right away. We are invited but we still have to get school permission and the finer details to work through, there is a good amount of red tape to be dealt with. But we'll talk about that later. I just wanted to confirm that you wanted to go." Takeda said
"Of course we do!" Daichi said, looking determined
"Let's do this!" You all yelled in unison again.
Everyone was running around all excited while Asahi, Kiyoko, Daichi and Suga were off to the side talking. You had overheard them talking about the fact that Kiyoko was going to her first away game
"So i'll do my best too." she smiled
"And i will be there to help her out, right Koko?"
"Mhmmm" She nodded, looking even more happy than before
"Right let's clean up and head home!" Ukai told you all
"Yes sir!"
