Hendery's POV
" I just used you as an excuse to break up. "
Right after I said that, Hwiyoung rushed over to me and started punching me all over. " You jerk! You know how much I hated guys who hurt girls and used them yet you chose to be one of them! "
I smirked, " Why? Because your sister- " He punched me in the face again.
" Don't talk about my sister! " He screamed.
I pushed him off before I stood up. I dusted my pants slightly while eyeing him, " Kim Youngkyun, I'm no longer the Hendery you knew. Did you just realised I'm a jerk? " I burst into laughter.
I smirked, " That's the price you guys have to pay for being nosy. Why did you follow me? " I scoffed before walking off.
I walked to a park nearby and I just stood there in silence. " There's only less than a month until you're leaving. " I said as I stood up.
Just continue being a jerk for the next one month and everything will be in place.
I decided to head home now, " Hendery! What happened to your face? Who did this to you? " My mom asked as she cupped my face.
I shot her a slight smile, " I fell. " I pushed passed her as I went over to my dad's alcohol fridge and I took a soju out.
" Mom, I'm in a bad mood today. Let me just drink this. " I went up to my room and I sat down on my floor as I chugged soju down while staring into space.
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I turned to see the photo of my family. Anger rise in me, " Why must you be my father? Why must I born in this family! " I took the empty soju bottle and I slammed it against the photo frame.
The soju bottle and photo frame broke into pieces.
I stared at the broken glasses on the floor as tears fell on the ground. " I don't deserve to be happy. " I crawled across the floor.
I placed my palm over the broken pieces and blood oozed out. A smile crept up on my face, " This is not even a little of the pain Yulbin felt. " I gulped.
My mom pushed opened the door and she started screaming. " Mom, it's nothing. " I furrowed my brows as she rushed over.
She brought me downstairs and the helper helped to remove the glass shards out of my hand. I winced in pain as she removed them, " Are you trying to get pity? You're also the reason why I didn't- " I stood up.
I walked towards him, " Don't ever say that I was the reason why you didn't turn yourself in. Stop using me as an excuse! "
I chuckled, " You deleted that footage when you get home. That was when you already knew you didn't want to turn yourself in so stop using me as your excuse and making myself feel bad. " I cleaned my jaw.
" You don't know how shitty my life is to have a father like you. A father that nearly killed my friend and left her on the road yet you can still be all friendly with her family. " I shook my head.
" You're disgusting. " He slapped me across my face.
My mom came over and dragged me back to the couch. I sat back down as the helper continued removing the glass shards.
I looked over at my mom to see her sobbing. " Mom, it's not your fault. You didn't know about this until today. " I let out a smile.
" Let's just cut all ties with their families. Hwiyoung and Yulbin. " She slowly looked up at me.
When the helper is done wrapping my hand, I stood up and I went back up to my room. I cleaned up the glass pieces my self and threw away any sigh of my father.
Even though he's my father but I don't want to associate myself with him.
The father I know was a kind, hard working man. Whoever he is now, that isn't my father.
The next morning, I came down to the dining room and I ate my breakfast. " I'm done. " The moment I saw my dad, I stood up and left.
He wants evidence?
I'll give him evidence.
I went to school and I was waiting at the bus stop when Yulbin came over. " Hi Hendery. " She smiled and I ignored her.
" I know your dad was the one that hit me but you shouldn't feel guilty because it wasn't you. That's the reason why I chose to drop charges, because I know that was your dad. " My eyes softened as I looked over at her.
I furrowed my brows, " Y-You knew? " She nodded.
" I saw his face clearly just as the car was about to hit me. " I walked towards her.
" I need your help. "
Yulbin's POV
When I got to school, I went to my seat and I started studying to distract my mind. Hwiyoung walked into the classroom and I was expecting a loud entrance but that wasn't the case.
He looked really moody.
My eyes followed him as he walked over to his seat and sat down before laying his head on his desk. " I want to go to the mini mart, do you- " He sat up.
" I'm not feeling too good today. You can ask Hyunsuk or someone else to go with you. " He smiled slightly before laying his head down again.
I nodded as I went out of the classroom to head to the mini mart. I bought some drinks and snacks for Hwiyoung, Hendery and I before heading back to class.
I placed a banana milk on Hendery's desk before placing another on Hwiyoung's desk. Hwiyoung sat up, " You bought for him? " He asked.
I nodded, " His dad- Never mind. I'm not going to drink the same drink as him. It's a disgrace to me. " He pushed the milk to me before laying his head down again.
" Hwiyoung, there's lots of things you- " He pushed his chair out as he stood up.
He glared at me, " Lee Yulbin, I know you like this jerk but you have to understand that he's a toxic person. He knew how much my sister mean to me yet he- " He turned to glare at Hendery.
" He's as freak you as his dad. " With that, he stormed out of the classroom and I followed after him.
Hwiyoung went to the rooftop and I followed behind him. He punched the wall, " Is it worth it? To hurt yourself? " He glared at me.
" This pain isn't as painful as what that jerk said to me last night. " Tears welled up in his eyes.
I sat down and I pulled his hand down so that he would sit next to me. " He freaking knew how affect I was about my sister yet he- " Tears rolled down his face as he buried his face in his hands.
I pulled him into a hug, " God, I didn't know he was such a jerk. " He pulled away from me.
He eyed me, " And you bought banana milk for him still. How can you even bring yourself to do that after finding you that his dad nearly killed you? "
" Because I knew Hendery didn't want that either. I figured out pretending as if I didn't know it was his father would be better for us, that's why I told my parents to drop charges. " His eyes widened.
I nodded, " I saw him right before the accident happened. " He sneered.
" And after all these years, he could still hang out with us knowing that he nearly killed you? " He scoffed as he looked away in disbelief.
" I'm pretty sure Hendery knew about it, that's why he chose to distance himself from us because he felt bad. " Hwiyoung scoffed.
" Did he told you that? " I shook my head.
I looked down my the floor, " Initially, I didn't know why he suddenly drifted away from us especially when I was suffering so badly at that time. "
I told Hwiyoung about the conversation I heard between Hendery and Jooyeon. " After that, everything made sense. "
I pursed my lips as I looked over at Hwiyoung. " Do you know what makes me more sure? " He stared at me.
" He told me to be the witness. " He furrowed his brows and I nodded.
" He's going to report his dad to the police. "
