I cannot believe my board members are doubting Gulf's ability. I am not a fool to just merge a whole company with mine if I didn't see any potential.
This is ridiculous.
I stood up. Gulf is looking at me with confused expressions. I smiled at him, and addressed the gentlemen.
I can feel that they are afraid of the future, they need accuracy, elite is an unpredictable world, anything can happen.
"Gentleman, I understand your concerns. We clearly saw the downfall of the department but it doesn't mean that the company is in water. We can clearly see the hard work of the team members as well as the leader, Mr. Traip." I looked at Gulf. He is looking at me intensely.
"The department made a mistake.. but we can't just sit around pampering it. We need to move on at some point. Mistakes are part of us, it happens and we learn from it."
"Mr. Traip is very successful businessman as we all agree. I am very sure that the mistake will not repeat ever. But we can't make promises, can we ? We don't know what obstacle is waiting for us ahead of the road."
They seem to think about it.
"We don't know if the chance we are giving will be successful or not, but it's uncertainty should not stop us from trying, right ?"
They hummed in response.
"Mr. Miles, no offense but you passed from the same kind of situation 6 months ago, you were at Mr. Traip's place once, if we didn't provide you membership in the industry, would you be sitting here today ?"
Mr. Miles looked down.
"You are successful because you were given chance and we are proud of you to have us here with us today, Mr. Miles."
He smiled and agreed.
"Yes, Mr. King, you are right. I approve the fund." Mrs. Goldsmith said.
"I approve, Mr. Traip." Mr. Miles and Mr. Shyan agreed.
"We all approve."
Gulf was smiling widely. I can feel his happiness radiating from him.
And again, there it is, the unnatural feeling, his soul is not innocent, I can feel it but it doesn't change the fact that it still attracts me.
'What is your secret Gulf ?
He suddenly looked at me, staring directly into my eyes, giving all kind of emotions, I can't differentiate them. I never failed to feel what the other is feeling, what is it about him?
"Thank you, Lucifer. If it wouldn't be for you, I don't know what I would do.." He said smiling and looking down.
"Mr. Traip.."
"Gulf.. call me Gulf." He said.
"Gulf.. I just saw the things in you that other failed to see. I just draw a direction to your path, you still need to claim and walk to destination, you see ?" I said looking directly at him.
He smiled very widely, presenting the perfect teeth, heart-shaped smile. My non-existance heart skipped a beat.
"I didn't say something amusing, or did I?" I asked, returning his smile.
"No, Lucifer, I just think that you are very poetic. It suits your personality. You are a walking mesmerising poem." He said and I froze on the spot.
He also seemed to realize the compliment. He looked down suddenly.
"I.. I am sorry, Lucifer. I don't know why I said that." He said immediately, now looking at me.
"Well, you are first one to call me that, no need to apologize. I was never called like that."
'I am normally called Devil, Satan. A walking poem ? That's a first, sounds good.' I thought.
He smiled at me again. I didn't say a joke right ?
If his smile was not .. interesting I would have taken him as crazy.
He is still smiling ? What is up ?
"Gulf ?" I need to make sure nevertheless.
"Your mind is interesting." He looked to deep in my eyes and left the room with his people.
Gulf-Pov
Interesting ? Really Gulf ? Interesting ? First, you don't casually compliment someone's mind, second, INTERESTING ? What the hell ? Why can't you find a proper compliment if you needed to deliver it desperately.
FML.
I can't expose my ability. It will change everything. Only Mild, my aunt who raised me, and my parents know about this.
I used to ask my aunt about it. She always said she didn't know. She was not lying, if she would I would know. I was too young to ask something like this to my parents. So I didn't know how I got it.
My parents died mysteriously. Even after these many years, no one could find a clue about it. I only know one thing. To justify my parents.
At least find the cause of their death. Is it too much to ask ? How in the world no one knows about two people dying mysteriously ? I am going to find out anyhow.
One night, my friend's mom took me home after spending the day with my friend.
I entered the house,
"Mama ? Papa ?" No answer.
I climbed up stairs.
"Mammaaaa...!!" "Paaapaaa...!!"
They were lying still, not a blood wound, not a scratch, nothing.
They were just... Dead.
Autopsy report couldn't find anything. That's how it became a mystery.
I am still finding the cause of their death, and about one thing I am sure. It is something out of the world. It is not common.
Riinngggg.. Riiinngg...
I picked up the phone. It was Lucifer.
"Lucifer."
"Gulf, are you free ?"
"Yeah, I finished. Why?"
"Would you like to have dinner ? Some company staff will join us."
"Sounds good, I will meet you outside in 10 minutes."
"Good, we will be waiting, don't make us wait and eat from our loneliness.. "
Trying to be poetic again ? I rolled my eyes.
"I will come down quickly." I disconnected and went to bathroom to fresh.
I got outside with Mild by my side.
"Where is Mr. King ?" Mind asked.
"He said he would be here. I can't see him, perhaps he got late." I said.
"He is handsome, isn't he ? God.. those legs are to die for. His mouth will look so good around my c-.."
"Around my COMIC BOOKS OF MARVEL. AMEN." I was horrified.
What the hell, Mild ?
'Who the fuck is this horny at this hour?'
I recognized the thoughts.
"Mind, stop thinking about it. Lucifer will be here soon." I told him.
"Yes, it would be fun with him." Mild said being overexcited.
I rolled my eyes. Give him some time to not get horny.
We can see Lucifer now from far, he is walking with 3 other people. He came towards us and smiled politely.
I returned his smile.
"Lucifer."
"Gulf."
No one spoke afterwards, just we were staring at each other. Intensely, deep. Little smiles playing on both of our mouths. His eyes measuring my eyes, looking with calm emotions, as if trying to read them.
'If eyes could fuck..'
I broke the staring contest and looked at the person who thought.
He stiffened immediately.
I smiled.
"Shall we go?" Mild offered.
"Yes." Said all.
We parked our cars in front of a big restaurant. I understood instantly, it was Lucifer's. Red-black-white with mesmerising design. It looks like Lucifer himself.
"You have some test in interior, King." I said to him as we settled on our table.
"Thank you, Gulf. I don't personally design but it is mostly based on my opinion." Said Lucifer as he sat beside me.
Mild was across me. Lucifer besides me, his friend called Kaownah besides him. And the one I find whose mind very... unique, sat beside Mild. Another man took seat besides.. Unique? What is his name?
'Mew didn't mention his company partner was ethereal beauty found in heaven.'
The man beside unique thought. Again, what is his name ?
"Gulf, Mild, meet Kaownah, my other personal assistant besides Boat." Lucifer started introduction.
"I am your protector, not your assistance, King." Kaownah said softly.
Lucifer looked at him with "I am done with you" expression.
What is up with Lucifer's group people ? They look glowing, think weird things. Little formalities here and there.
Even though the guy beside Unique minded, looks more.... Like me and Mild ? If that makes sense.
"This is my friend Tong. And beside him is Run, he is also a good friend."
So the unique minded is Tong, the one beside him is Run.
"Nice to meet you all, gentlemen." I said politely.
"Pleasure's all ours, Mr. Traip. Heard your company is already making profit, it is flattering event to behold." Tong saud smiling.
Again I was stunned withe their speaking senses.
Lucifer must have noticed my expression.
"Brother Tong, let's order, we can't keep you waiting." All laughed a little.
He also jokes in his "ethereal beauty."
I thanked Tong for his compliment and joined to dine.
'Mew you talked with mother, right ?'
'I did, brother. It will not happen again, my sincere apologies.'
'As if you would stop my King. You can have fun, but think about other, dear.'
Mew smiled at Tong after finishing his mind conversation with him. Tong smiled back.
I looked back and forth between them. My mind went blind.
Whatever it is happening, it is not human.
Mew/Lucifer and Tong continued his dinner.
We were all casually talking and enjoying dinner. Slightly joking, and discussing business. Mew was telling me about the time when he was going through kind of same thing as my company went not some while ago.
Suddenly, a group of people entered. Clearly they were breaking the security as this was a private restaurant with high security that added.
Mew saw them and sighed.
'Not again. Please.'
Who are they ? Why Mew is disappointed ?
"Lucifer King !! Here, look at us.., when are you going to Sunrise lounge again ?"
"Lucifer King, is it true that you are dating Love Akira the famous model ?
"Mr. King, look here, are you supposed to deny this or will you confirm?"
"Lucifer.."
"Mr. King.. here.."
"Mr.."
They are not stopping, dropping bomb after bomb, question after question like he must answer each and every.
They are Lucifer's fans. Crazy ones, good ones don't behave like this.
Mew's face was in his palms, elbows on the table, frustrated with the situation.
How his mind can be this calm in such situation ?
He looked up, and I was shocked. His eyes were deep shade of red. Still calm. But his eyes are not something to look at if you cannot control.
Luckily, everyone was focused on the fans, and trying to stop.
Suddenly I felt the urge to calm Lucifer down. I felt that he would do something that.. I don't know.. but he will surely regret later.
His eyes are still red, trying to do something, but before he can do anything..
"Don't do it, Mew..." He suddenly looked at me, eyes back to dark brown. Calmed expressions again.
"Let's get out of here." I said as I took his hand and stormed outside from the back door. Our friends looked at us with confusion, except two, Tong and Kaownah.
'Do anything you can to stop it, or I will take you back, my King.'
Tong said in mind, probably to Mew.
Mew suddenly stopped walking, I did too as I was leading him.
I thought he stropped because of Tong's words.. but
"Did you just call me Mew ?" I froze.
