Kiara POV

"Wait wait?"
"He told me he had feelings for me still."
"What did you tell him?"
"I told him I was with you and then he cut me off saying he knows and stuff. But before you get mad and in your feelings, he did say he couldn't even complete with you."
"Still I don't even like the fact he was telling you that. It's straight up disrespectful to me. I tried to be cordial with him and he turns around and does that when I'm not around."
"Khy, don't be mad at him. I told you so that way we aren't keeping secrets between us not so you can start some confrontation."
"I ain't starting nothing. Just know I don't respect him, and I don't want him here without me no more. If that nigga got feeling for a girl that's not his then he can take them feelings some where else cause it ain't welcomed here."
"You're soo jealous. You have me all to yourself and you're still jealous."
"I ain't jealous." he looked back at the T.V.
"Yes you are."
"Yeah yeah whatever."
"Stooopp!" I looked at Khy.
"What?"
"Now you have an attitude."
"I don't have nothing. I'm chilling."
"Your whole demeanor changed."
"I'm fine."
I sighed and rolled my eyes, I was tired of playing these games with Khy. When I wanted to be honest and truthful he made me regret it.
"This is why I don't wanna tell you stuff sometimes I swear." then I flipped facing against Khy. I looked at my phone and text a few people.
"I'm sorry." I heard Khy say.
"What?" I didn't bother turning.
"I said, I'm sorry. Thank you for being honest and truthful. I just got irritated, but I'm sorry though."
"It's fine." I said.
Khy looked over at me and said. "You mad at me?"
"No." I simply responded.
"Oh okay."
For a moment, it was silent between the both of us but then it was interrupted but Khy's phone buzzing.
He ignored it and acted like it wasn't ringing.
"Khy your phone."
"I know. It's not important."
"Who is it?"
"No one probably."
"Give it to me, I'll answer it."
He tossed his phone over to me and I answered it.
"Hello?" I answered
A female voice was on the other end.
"Khy?"
"Noo....Kiara. Who is this?"
"Oh I'm sorry, I thought this was Khy's number his mother must've given me the wrong number."
I looked at Khy confused then put the phone on speaker. "Who is this again?"
"It's Audrey."
"Audrey?" I mouthed to Khy as I furrowed my eyebrows.
Khy face lit up as he grabbed the phone from my hands. "Audrey?!?!"
"Khy!?!?"
"How'd you get my number?"
"Your mom, I happened to have ran into her at the store. I'm in town for a few days and she told me to give you a call."
"Damn, that's really crazy, where you at now?"
"At Hilton Hotel right now."
"What are you getting into tonight maybe we can hang out and catch up you know."
I looked at Khy like he was insane, and the fact he was doing it in front of me was even more appalling.
"Actually that would be great, umm I have something we need to talk about."
"Cool, how about at 7:00 we head over to Brio?"
"Sounds like a plan, meet you there."
"Alright."
Then he hung up with a smile a smile on his face.
I crossed my arms and looked directly at him. "Who's Audrey?"
Khy smirked and looked me "Oh you should know her very well."
"Why should I?"
"You dated her brother." Khy laughed rolling out of the bed to get ready.
"Her brother....?"
"Well step- brother I should say."
I paused for a moment and thought but couldn't think of anyone.
"Who?"
"You mean to tell me you don't remember Darnell?"
I looked at Khy in shock then said "Wait! Audrey Audrey?!?!"
Khy nodded then said "Yup."
Audrey and I used to be really cool when I was dating Darnell, and when we broke up she was determined to get us back together.
But ironically she ended up being the one telling be about Darnell cheating.
"I wanna go...." I pouted.
Khy smirked and said "Nah, gotta keep an eye on the boys."
"I can get someone to baby sit."
"They just got back, don't send them away again."
"Someone can come here."
"How about after dinner I bring Audrey over and y'all can do all the catching up then. Deal?"
"Deal." I sighed not really happy that I couldn't go.
Khy POV

I was excited as hell to see Audrey, she was my partner in crime as kids and she always looked out for me. Unfortunately her mom and Step-Dad split causing them to move away. I hardly ever seen her after that since they moved out of state. Ironically not too much longer after that Darnell moved too.
I put on some gray sweat pant joggers, a white sweat shirt, and my white infrared Jordan's. Once I got dressed I walked in the room to see Kiara playing with Malachi.
"I see you two are having fun." I said as I reached on the dresser for my keys.
"Yeah yeah, at least Malachi for here for me, isn't that right momma's baby." she planted kisses on his cheek.
I nodded then said. "Alright I'll be back."
She waved me off really not caring at all. I shook my head and started walking into Trent's room.
"You good?" I asked Trent.
"Yeah."
I noticed be was studying the picture I let him have.
"You sure? Look like something is bothering you."
He looked up from the picture and asked. "You're leaving again....do we have to go to another babysitter?"
"Nah, Kiara is staying. You can go next door and play with that girl if you want."
Trent shook his head no and sighed "I just wanna stay by myself right now."
I nodded then said "If you need me just call me alright?"
He nodded then I proceeded out of his room. As I ran down the steps my phone vibrated.
"Hello?" I answered
"Hey you coming?" Audrey said
"Yeah I'm on my way now. Had to talk to Kiara."
"Oh, well speaking of Kiara you mind if a friend of my hangs out with her while we're out? So they're not lonely."
"Uhh, yeah sure okay."
I let her know where I lived at and got into the car.
After I hung up with Audrey I called Kiara.
"Yeah?" she answered her phone.
"Audrey's friend is coming over to the house okay?"
"What friend?"
"Not sure, but they'll be there soon. Just keep them company till I get back alright?"
"Yeah, sure whatever."
"You want anything from the restaurant?"
"Nah, just hurry back okay?"
"Alright, i will."
I hung up with Kiara and went to the Brio as planned.
I met up with Audrey and walked over to her. "Khyyy!!!!!!!!!!!" she ran up to me and gave me a hug.
"Hey Audrey." I smiled hugging her back.
"Look at you, looking like a grown man."
"What you mean looking? I am one." I laughed
"You think you are. Still little ole Khylan to me."
"Aye, what I tell you about calling me that." I eyed her.
She laughed and soon we were interrupted by a waiter waiting to seat us.
We took our seats at the table and placed our drink orders then started in our conversation.
"Soo Khy...tell me what has my partner in crime been up to since I left. Last thing I heard from over here was about Khalil."
"Yeah..."
"What happened Khy?"
"Audrey that's a long story for a different time."
"Okay." she looked down at the table.
"But outside of that, if you didn't already know Kiara and I are together. Actually engaged."
Audrey gasped and covered her mouth. "'I always knew y'all had something for each other but I didn't know y'all were getting married."
"Yeah, and on top of that...Khalil had a son....Trent."
"Khalil has a son?!?"
"Yup."
"Man, I missed a lot apparently."
"You definitely did." I laughed "Your ass shouldn't have moved."
"I couldn't help it. My momma was ready to go on the first train out of here when she got divorced."
The waiter came back with our drinks then took our meal orders before taking off again.
"So Audrey tell me about you? Wassup?"
"Well, I'm a full time banking manager, I'm going to college for my master's in Administrative Service and i'm single as a one dollar bill."
"At least you have your priorities straight."
"True. Anywho. Nothing really out the ordinary. I decided to come and see all the things that changed. I ran into Rana surprisingly."
I sighed loudly "Please don't bring her up."
"Why what's wrong with her?" "
"Been through enough crap with her. She's obsessed Audrey....I'm telling you."
"She was really nice and sweet when I spoke to her."
"Yeah, don't let that fool you. Girl is crazy. Trying to keep Kiara and her away from each other is a mission in itself."
Audrey laughed and said. "Well she said she was doing good, said she was trying to get her man back though."
"Hopefully she ain't talking about me."
Audrey shrugged and said. " You know Darnell has actually moved with me. We don't live together or anything but we live in the same town and all."
"Oh forreal so he didn't go live with his Dad....well your Ex-Step-Dad."
"Nah, after graduation he moved with my Mom and I. He's actually who I brought."
"Wait......you brought Darnell....which means...."
Kiara's POV

I was laid on the couch downstairs with Malachi in my arms as me and Trent watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
As I felt myself getting comfortable enough to fall asleep I heard the doorbell ring. I assumed it was the guest Khy was telling me about earlier so I put Malachi in his rocker and went to answer the door.
I opened it and seen Darnell standing before me. I was at a loss for words. I hadn't seen him in years and suddenly he was standing before me.
"Darnell?"
"Hey Kiara." He smiled flashing his flawless smile. He looked amazing head to toe. He definitely changed since High School.
I didn't even know what to say. "Uhh...umm..." I stood back opening the door allowing my actions to speak for me.
He stepped inside and said "Damn, place looks even bigger on the inside." he looked around.
I couldn't think of words so I just looked at him.
He eventually noticed and started smiling "Wow Kiara and might I say, you look beautiful. I think I can really say that you ended up being the one I let get away for sure."
I laughed, trying not to allow myself to blush too much. "Thank you, you look handsome yourself....umm can i offer you anything...?"
"Nah nah, I'm straight."
Then Trent walked into the lobby area.
"Ohhh he yours?" Darnell looked at me.
"Ooh no no no...Khy's nephew Trent."
Darnell stuck out his hand for Trent to shake. Initially he paused but gave in and shook his hand.
I invited Darnell into the living room area to chat.
"So Mr. Darnell, Mr. Wide Receiver, Mr. Pretty Boy, what have you been up too?"
"Nothing much, going to college to be an athletic trainer and help out other athletes like myself."
"Oh okay, doing something productive with your talents."
"What about you?"
"Honestly not much of anything right now. After being on maternity leave for so long I kind of been doing nothing really."
"Maternity leave?"
I smiled then got up and walked over to the rocker I had Malachi in and took him out. "Meet my baby boy Malachi."
"Wow...So you're a mother now."
"Yup." I smiled proudly as I let Darnell hold Malachi.
"Damn, I just knew when we were together we were going to have one of our own."
"I know, well up until someone cheated." I eyed Darnell.
He sighed and said "That just might be one of the only things I regret in my whole life too."
"Well it happens. So what happened to you, after gradation you disappeared."
"I ended up moving with Audrey and her Mom. They were nice enough to let me and I ended up living with them, going on my own and starting my own career."
"Well that's really good."
I couldn't help but notice the look that he was giving me. It sorta made me blush but I couldn't let him see that.
"So who you with now?" he asked.
"Khy, we're engaged." I raised my left hand showing off my ring.
"Damn, nice ring too. Gotta give it to Khy. I should've known y'all end up together, best friends my ass." he chuckled.
"We were at the time we were dating."
"I don't believe that shit.." he laughed.
"What your mouth." I eyed him.
"My bad" he covered his mouth with one hand while continuing to hold Malachi with the other.
I couldn't help but laugh and let a giggle.
"What's his name Malachi?"
"Yup"
"He looks just like you. Has your cute dimples."
"Mhmm..." I looked at the TV trying to distract myself. "Darnell what about you, any special lady in your life."
"Nah, well there was one but you know....stuff ain't work out and yup now I'm a single man going on 3 weeks now."
"So still fresh."
"I wouldn't say all that." he laughed.
"How long were y'all together."
"Barely a whole year. I think I can say our relationship was definitely something I really miss. Nothing compared to what we had."
"Darnell.....sweetie....I think it's flattering you miss me, believe me I do but I'm with Khy now and out of respect for him and him being the King of this castle I can't allow to disrespect him by trying to flirt with me okay?"
"You were always loyal too. But I can respect it. I'm sorry."
"It's fine."
Then suddenly the front door busted open Khy came rushing over. "Kiara where you at?!?"
"In here, what's wrong?"
Khy and Audrey came in the living room.
"Oh everything good in here?" he asked.
"Yeah...." I responded unsure.
Darnell handed me Malachi then stood up and walked over to Khy. "Wassup Khy, long time no see."
Him and Darnell dapped each other up before pulling it in for a hug. As I watched Audrey came rushing over to me to hug me. "Kiara!!!!!"
I tried to sit up more. "Audrey!!!!"
She quickly embraced me, being mindful of Malachi who was in my arms.
"Who's that little cutie."
"His name is Malachi. My baby boy."
"He's so precious can I hold him?!"
I nodded then handed Malachi to her.
She smiled and started talking to him while I watched Khy and Darnell talk.
"Man, Khy I gotta say you definitely are a lucky dude to be with a girl like Kiara."
"Is that right?"
"Yeah, she looks out for you and she respects you."
Khy nodded said "I appreciate you telling me that." he smirked while looking at me
I could definitely say It made me feel good that Khy and I were building trust again.
We ended up all sitting around talk and chit chatting about life and different things from the days we grew up.
Eventually Malachi and Trent both feel asleep so Khy headed up to put them to bed.
"So, when's the wedding?" Audrey blurted out.
"I'm not exactly sure, Khy and I haven't even came up with a date.
"Why not?"
"With everything going on, we really haven't exactly had time."
"I see....." Audrey trailed off looking over at Darnell.
I wasn't exactly sure what she was getting at but I just nodded.
Khy rejoined us and we all continued to laugh and joke until Darnell and Audrey decided that it was getting late and wanted to head home.
We all decided to plan an outing for tomorrow for all of us to hang out.
When the plans seemed fitting we said goodbye then Khy and I prepared for bed.
"Khy...."
"Yeah" He said as he shut the door behind Audrey and Darnell
"When are we going to plan our wedding?"
"Whenever you want." Khy said walking up the stairs.
"No seriously Khy." I followed him
"When you wanna get married?"
"Soon! I don't wanna be engaged forever."
"Relax, why not this coming August?"
"That means we have a lot of planning we need to get done now. We have a lot of work ahead of us. We didn't even discuss details or anything."
"You're over reacting Baby.We still got some time relax."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Okay Khy."
We walked into the bedroom and I laid on the bed while Khy walked into the bathroom.
I tried not to get myself worked up with the fact that Khy was taking things nonchalant but it was becoming difficult for me.
Suddenly I heard "Shit!"
I sat up and looked towards the bathroom waiting for Khy to come out.
"You okay" I voiced out.
Khy came around the corner and said "Umm...nothing."
"Nothing" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, nothing." He said getting in bed.
I noticed he had his phone tightly clutched in his fist and didn't bother putting it down.
"You expect me to believe that Khy?"
"Why wouldn't you believe the truth."
"No one randomly shouts out 'shit!'"
"I closed my finger in the cabinet door that all."
I wasn't buying it, I can tell when Khy was lying to cover up something and he was definitely doing that. "You wouldn't lie to me?"
"Nope."
"Mhmm..." I rolled my eyes.
Khy POV

When I was in the bathroom I happened to see I had a new message from Audrey.
I opened it nonchalantly and noticed a nude picture she sent me captioned Goodnight Khy ;)
Without thinking I voiced my thought and notified Kiara. I definitely didn't want her to know. I don't Kiara to get the idea that something happened during the dinner.
When I assumed that Kiara was sleep I pulled my phone back out and attempted to delete the picture but then I felt Kiara shove me with force and stormed out the bed. "I KNEW IT!"
Dammit!
Sorry it took so long to update, I honestly had this chapter written for a long time and I didn't want to publish it because I didn't like the chapter personally. Anyway I finally tweaked it enough for my liking, well at least for now.
