Seulgi POV
I wake up and I felt like I was holding something. I looked down at a cute little bunny in my arms and smiled. My smile faded when I thought about what she said to me about not being able to help me.
She already has helped me. Why can't she see that?
My mom knocks on my door and opens it. She looks at me and I just tell her to be quiet. She gives me an ok sign and closed the door again. I looked back at Irene who was in my arms still.
She moves a little and then opens her eyes.
"Good morning Baechu." I said. She just smiles.
"Morning bear." We stay in the same position for a little longer until I had to get up and get ready for my last match.
"I have to go now. Do you want to come with me?" I asked Irene she just looked at me and nodded.
We both ate breakfast that my mom made and we went to the gym. Once we got in, Irene sat down on a bench and I went up to a punching bag. When I looked at it, I was reminded of what Eric told me about my opponent.
I got angry and started to punch the bag hard. I kept punching until I couldn't feel my knuckles anymore and I didn't feel like stopping either.
"Seulgi!" I stopped punching and looked at a worried Irene.
"This isn't like you. You do use force, but you use force strategically." I looked at Irene. Of course she would catch this. I sat down next to her on the bench and I just let out a sigh.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Eric's words hurt me." She leans her head on me.
"They would hurt me too if he said that to me, but we know the truth, we know he didn't bail." She was right. What other people think shouldn't matter because I know the truth. I know what really happened.
"Seulgi?"
"Yes?"
"Please don't do this, don't let your emotions control you. Let the emotions help you not control. If you feel angry, then let that anger out, but still think about how you are going to do it instead of doing it recklessly." I look at her and she stares back at me.
"Have you been through this too?"
"I went through this whenever I was in volleyball and I learned the hard way. My team didn't do well if I didn't think about my strategy. I let my emotions take over and everything we worked for went down the drain because I didn't think. I don't want you to go through that. After I felt so guilty for being so stupid, I felt like I let down my teammates as well." She may be the same age as me, but I feel like she is more mature and wise.
"I'm sorry Irene. I promise I won't let my emotions control me and my thinking." She nodded and smiled at me.
"Good. Now, get back out there and use that anger with your thinking." I nodded and smiled at her and went back to the punching bag. I stopped when I couldn't feel my knuckles and walked back to Irene.
"Already done?"
"No, I just can't feel my knuckles." I said grinning. She just let out a sigh.
"I guess that's better than continuously punching the bag in anger." I let a small laugh and hold her hand. We both go to the stadium and she goes to the stands where Solar and Moonbyul are at. She gives me a kiss of good luck and then leaves.
My name gets called and I take a deep breath and make my way towards the ring. Once I got in, people started cheering for me and PB. I get a better look at him up close and I can see a chain around his neck. A necklace. I look for Irene in the crowd and I see her, but she isn't smiling back at me, she is looking scared.
Solar looks scared as well. I look back at PB and we go to our corners. The round finally begins.
We both make our way slowly towards one another with our fists in front of us. I start attacking and throw my punches at him. He just blocks and smiles.
"You know, it's kind of disgraceful how your brother didn't show up our little match we were going to have." I punched a little weaker trying to process what he was saying. He then hit me hard in the face and I fall down.
"Well that was easy." He said while smiling.
"Seulgi!" I look at Irene who is looking at me worried and I get up when the ref was on 5 in the countdown. PB looks at Irene and I could tell that he was distracted. I took this chance to hit him as hard as I could. He fell to the ground and the ref starts to countdown, but he gets up again.
This time he looked angry at me. I started to throw my punches at him again and he laughed.
"Do you really think that you can win just by throwing punches?!" He's right. I gave up on punching and did what I usually don't do. Defend.
I use my brother's technique of continuously punching and my own which was kind of like Moonbyul's. I haven't really had the chance to use defending, but in this match I think that was the only way I could win.
This time PB starts to jab and all I can do is block. I am getting a little tired of blocking though and I didn't know how long I could keep up with his continuous punches. I felt one of his punches get weak and that's when I started to attack back.
I did a hook and then I finished with an uppercut. He fell on the floor and tried to get up, but he couldn't. the ref counts down from ten and gets to zero.
I won.
Irene POV
I watch Seulgi step into the ring and then I take a closer look at who she is up against. I look at the itinerary and it said she was up against PB. I look back at her and then looked at her opponent.
Those eyes. I tried to get a closer look at his neck and I saw it. He's wearing the necklace. I look over at Solar and she looks just as scared as me.
"He's here Yongsun."
"I know." She said as she took my hand and gave it a tight squeeze. I continued to look at him throughout the match watching him. I saw him say something to Seulgi and she lost her focus.
He then hit her square in the face and then she fell down. The ref started to countdown and I tried to get him out of my head.
"Seulgi!" I made eye contact with her and on number 5, she got up. The crowd went wild and all I could do was sigh in relief. That relief quickly vanished when I looked over at him. He was staring right back at me looking shocked. Seulgi then hit him hard and he fell down.
The ref started to countdown, but he got up again. I saw Seulgi using her brother's technique and got worried. I saw her back off and defend. I was so surprised to see her defend and I looked over to Moonbyul who was just smiling at her like a proud mom.
"I knew she could find her own way." She said while smiling. I look back at Seulgi and I see her defending herself from his punches. They both looked really tired and I thought Seulgi wouldn't be able to last any longer if she kept taking those hits. She did a hook and then finished him with an upper cut and he fell to the ground. The ref counted down and declared it to be a knockout.
She actually did it. She won. For herself and for her brother. I watched her and PB walk away towards the back room.
Seulgi POV
I went back towards the back room and I noticed that PB was right behind me.
"Good job today. You hit pretty hard."
"Don't ever talk about my brother in a way like that ever again. He didn't bail and you're lucky that he didn't show up either." I just saw PB chuckle and nod.
"You got me there. If he hits as hard as you, I wouldn't have stood a chance."
"He hits harder than me. You would have been dead." I look at his neck and see the chain again.
"You have a necklace on don't you?" He pulls it out and it's a heart.
"Yes I do."
"I'm guessing there's a picture in it?"
"There is."
"You're girlfriend?"
"Sure." Sure? What did he mean by that.
"By the way, what's your friend's name?"
"Which one?" I asked cautiously.
"The one who screamed out your name."
"Irene. Why?" His eyes darkened and his aura darkened as well. He walked closer to me.
"Are you lying to me?" He asked. He got really close and I started to get scared. What does he mean? Does her know Irene?
"That's her name. Why do you ask?" I said. I was starting to get suspicious of this guy. Irene did say that if he had a necklace on, then she might know him. What is his relationship with her.
"So, she's lying to you then?" He asked while smiling. His smile gave off an eerie vibe and it sent shivers down my spine.
"I don't think she would lie to you though. We both know that's not her real name Kang Seulgi." He leaves the room and I just stand there dazed.
How does he know? Who is this guy? I need to talk to Joohyun fast and warn her. This guy has a bad vibe and it made me feel like he was after Irene.
I need to get answers from Irene.
