Seulgi POV
I wake up when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I pull it out and it says it's Solar. I call over Moonbyul and she stops her match and runs over to me. I answer the phone call.
"Hey Solar. What's up?"
"It's Irene." My heart immediately stops.
"What happened?!"
"Nothing too bad. She just passed out although she hasn't woken up yet and it has been like 5 minutes already." I immediately hang up the phone and me and Moonbyul made our way to the volleyball court.
We walked inside and saw a crowd and I just walked through it. I saw Irene on laying on ground with her head on Solar's lap.
"Seul, can you take her home? I think she needs some rest." I nod and pick her up bridal style. All of the teammates let's out "oohs" and "awws" But I didn't care.
I drive her home and carry her to her house. I ring the doorbell and Yeri answers it.
"What happened to Irene Unnie?"
"She fell asleep during practice." I said trying not to worry her.
"You mean she passed out?" Well there goes that sugarcoat.
I nod. I hear Yeri sigh and open the door wider for me.
"It's about time she passes out. Unnie always works hard even if she doesn't have to. She makes it hard on herself and criticizes herself as well." I look at Yeri. She might be young, but she is very wise for someone her age.
"I'm gonna go put her in her bed." Yeri just nods and I bring Irene to her bedroom and place her gently on the bed. As soon as I placed Irene on the bed, she wakes up and looks at me shocked. She sits up on her bed.
"Why am I in my room? What are you doing here? What time is it?"
"One question at a time please."
"Fine, why am I here?"
"Because you passed out at practice and Solar told me to bring you home." I said while sighing.
"Take me back." I glare at her this time.
"Bae Joohyun you are going to stay here and get some rest!"
"My team needs me right now! I'm still the captain!"
"I don't care if you're the captain Irene! You're still a human! You can't think that you are invincible!" I didn't mean to raise my voice, but I had enough of this. She needs to learn that she can take a break.
She looks shocked but doesn't say anything which makes me continue.
"Bae Joohyun, please stop and take a break for once. You're making everyone worry about you. Your teammates, Your friends, your family, and even me. It's okay to take a break every once in a while Irene, but do you even know what that is? I'm really worried about you and I really care about you. I want the old Joohyun back the one who doesn't look like a cute raccoon and who doesn't get angry. The one who is always calm and positive." I look at Irene and she is just looking down.
I lift up her chin so that her eyes meet mine.
"I love you so much Bae Joohyun and it really hurts seeing you treat yourself like this." I pull her into a hug and she just stays still.
I hear a little chuckle and I pull away from the hug to look at Irene...I think she's lost it.
"How could I be so stupid." She looked up at me.
"This is our senior year. I wanted to work extra hard this year and who knew that it would become even harder with you in it." Is she roasting me right now?
"I realized that I started to worry about you constantly. Whenever I went to practice, I was wondering how you were doing, whenever I went to work, you were still on my mind. You made me lose some focus." Seriously is she trying to make me feel like a mistake??
"I also started to worry about you even more when I heard about you and your mom. Now that we are dating, I'm starting to even wonder if I am good enough for you and for the people around me. I'm not special. Maybe if I work harder, I can show my worth. I might get recognized, but instead I lost control and began to think that I only matter when I am doing something." I just look at her in shock.
"You really think you aren't good enough for me and others?" I asked shocked.
Irene just looks down and nods.
"Stupid. I know right. I didn't think I would go down low and let my work control me."
"Baechu. Do you know how much you mean to me?" I ask her she looks up and shakes her head no.
"You mean everything to me. You really helped me and you are such a special person. I know Solar, Moonbyul, and your family will agree with me on this. You are special. Sometimes I wonder if I am good enough for you. You don't need to prove us anything. If you want to prove to us that you are enough then take care of yourself first. Stop worrying about what others think of you and focus on yourself more please."
Irene gets out of the bed and leans towards me. I lean my forehead onto hers and we just stare at each other in the eyes.
"I love you a lot Seulgi."
"I love you more." She separates first and just stares at me.
"One thing has been bothering me though."
"What is that?" I ask.
"Please don't use my real name against me Seulgi." She looked sad instead of angry.
"I won't do that ever again. I promise. I don't want an angry bunny glaring at me and not talking to me." A tiny smile formed on her face.
I go closer to her and I make her lay on her bed. I tuck her in like a little kid and kiss her on the lips for a little bit.
"Now go to sleep my little bunny." She just nods.
She closes her eyes and then she falls asleep. I decided to make her feel better and an idea popped into my mind. I went towards Yeri and asked if they had sticky notes. Yeri gave some to me and I immediately began writing on them.
Once I finished writing on each sticky note, I put them all over Irene's walls in her bedroom. It kind of looked like a sticky note prank not gonna lie, but who cares. Hopefully she will read the messages.
I go back and run into Yeri. Yeri just looks at me and then at Irene's room.
"How is Unnie?"
"She's good. She's asleep right now."
"I'm guessing you two are dating right?" I look at her shocked. Did Irene not tell her family yet?
"Yeah. Did she not tell you?"
"Unnie doesn't really like to share things like this with her family. It's kind of fun to guess though." I nod.
"Do you have any tips about your sister?"
"Like any tips to make her fall in love with you?" I nod my head very fast.
"She's already on the whipped level. I think you're good." I just sigh.
"Here's one thing, don't say her real name...although I bet you already know this cause she told you it right?"
"Yeah. Can I ask you why that is though? I used her name to threaten her at school today and she looked terrified." Yeri just stared at me in shock.
"YOU DID WHAT?!" I quickly shush her reminding that Irene is asleep. She just lets out a sigh.
"How stupid can you be?" Wow I'm being scolded by an 11 year old.
"Look if you told me why then maybe I wouldn't have done it."
"She hasn't told you?"
"Told me what?"
"The history about her name?"
"Nope, but now I'm interested. Do you mind telling me?" Yeri bites her lips and contemplates.
"It isn't my story to tell Seulgi. You'll have to hear it from Unnie if you want to know what happened." My curiosity has been piqued at this point. Now that I think about it, I only know about her name and what she likes. I don't know anything about her past. It's all a mystery to me.
"Can you tell me about her past at all?"
"Once again not my story to tell." She has a secret in her past too huh.
"Your sister is kind of mysterious." I said. Yeri just nods in agreement.
"Doesn't that make you more interested in her though?"
"You got me there."
Yeri goes to the tv and turns on her video game I just sit and watch. Yeri turns and laughs at me.
"What?"
"Sorry you just look really stupid right now." Aishh this kid.
"Wanna play?" She holds up another controller and I take it immediately.
While I was playing, I kept thinking about Irene's real name and about her past. We kind of are the same. We both are hiding something from our past.
