Namjoon's P.O.V
"Jungkook get your lazy ass up!" Jimin yelled as he tried to drag him from his bed by the arm but the younger refused to move.
"Leave me alone~" he whined, pulling his arm back harshly, making Jimin fall and groan in pain as his hips hit the side of the bed. "You bastard." He whimpered in pain as he held his hip.
"Jungkook get the fuck up or I'm gonna get Jin in here," Hoseok said, coming into the room as well. "Okay, wait wait wait wait, don't call Jin I'll be up in five minutes. Just give me five minutes, I'll be awake." Jungkook lazily got up and ran to the bathroom, tripping in between as I chuckled.
"I don't know how Jin manages to do it but it works every morning," I said before smiling at the two best friends. "You okay Jimin?" Hoseok asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." He barely managed to speak before leaving the room, chest down and knees bent as he held his hip in pain
"I'm sure he'll be fine," I said before walking out of the room as well.
"Breakfast is done will you guys get here already!?" Jin yelled, placing the last plate of food on the table and placing his hands on his hips as if he was a mother scolding her children when they didn't eat their vegetables.
"I'm here!" I replied. I sat down and immediately dug into the food, not daring to waste another second. Soon enough the rest of the six members joined the dinner table as well.
"Are you guys excited for the Tournament?" Yoongi asked as I stopped eating midway and groaned in annoyance.
Aannnnd there goes my appetite.
"Ah, shit! The Tournament!" Jungkook said, ruffling his hair in frustration.
"I forgot about it," I said as my eyes met with Jin's who had a confused face on. His lips immediately turned into a smile before he suddenly blew a kiss my way.
"Ahhh Hyung," I whined as I heard him do his iconic windshield wiper laugh. "You're so weird," I mumbled but he couldn't hear it over the sound of his laugh.
"When is the Tournament again?" Taehyung asked in a weak tone.
This past week had been the worst for him. He had gotten tremendously weak to the point where he can barely walk or talk. We told our teachers that he was sick so he got permission to skip classes but that excuse can only work so long.
We all had gone on at least one trip somewhere outside the school with a lead we all hopefully thought would help us cure Taehyung. Each one was a complete flop and as every day went by I could feel Taehyung losing all hope.
Rosé would try her best to heal him but she too kept getting extremely weak and exhausted as she had to tend to him multiple times a day. I would notice her skip classes and if she even attended any, she'd just end up falling asleep and getting in trouble for it.
We all told her to take a step back and relax for a while. But she refused and started crying, explaining that she wanted to help him as much as she could and that she felt pathetic because she'd get tired without using much of her powers. This last whole month was an emotional rollercoaster for every single one of us. So many things had happened and they all occurred so suddenly that even now I still have trouble adjusting.
First, the whole Lisa and Yoongi being twins, then Professor Du lying, we found out that Professor Du had a past with the headmaster of Cloud Tower. And now we're still struggling with Taehyungs whole curse.
It ended in Jisoo and Jennie heading into her room and trying to calm her down since she had locked herself in. Taehyung knew none of this and no one wanted to tell him anyway, because we all knew he'd immediately stop Rosé from using her magic on him. And with all the dead ends we've had these past two months, Rosé's magic is all that's keeping him alive at this point. And it pains me to say this but I know we all understand that,
Taehyung barely has any time left.
"It's around noon I think," Yoongi replied, not looking anyone in the eyes and just peacefully eating his rice and soup.
One thing I noticed about the mint haired man is that he had gotten a lot closer to Lisa. Whenever I would see the two together I could feel that brotherly sisterly vibe from them and it was weird.
I'm still not used to seeing them as siblings so it freaks me out sometimes. But I can sense that those two hit it off well. I'm guessing it was just a natural thing.
Last night I'm sure he was texting Lisa which is why I'm assuming he remembered the Tournament since Lisa can never shut up about it.
No wonder we all had forgotten and he was the only one to remember, usually he'd be the last to even care.
"Well, then we'd better get going, it's 11:30 already," Hoseok said as Jimin spit out his soup.
"FUCK I NEED TO CHANGE!" Jin yelled getting up from his seat and he and Jimin ran to their bedrooms.
Slowly I looked down at what I was wearing and groaned in annoyance.
Pyjamas.
"No one leaves the dorm without me!" I yelled at the rest of the guys on the table before running inside my room to change.
By the time we were all ready and changed, it was already 12:04. The walk to the arena in the Forest of Doom in literally 15 minutes.
"Shit, we're gonna have to run," I said but I already saw Jungkook sprinting out of the building. "I'll teleport Taehyung there. I need to save energy if I'm picked in the Tournament so the rest of you guys are gonna have to book it, sorry." Hoseok said as he grabbed Taehyungs hand and the both of them disappeared into thin air.
"Fuck." I yelled before running after the rest of Bangtan.
I was tired and completely out of breath as I reached the arena, all the students were already seated and some of them looked at us as if we had gone insane.
I mean I can't blame them, this is one of the most exciting times of the year. The Magic School Tournament is something everyone is always talking about, so it was weird when you see five men running to the arena twenty-five minutes late.
"There." Jin pointed at Hoseok and Taehyung who was sitting beside the Silence.
We walked up to them and sat beside the girls.
"Where were you?" Irene asked with gritted teeth. Wow, I didn't even think about the scariest part of getting late.
Dealing with Joohyun.
"Woke up late. Forgot there was a Tournament. Sorry." I said, taking a break between each sentence to catch my breath.
I need to work on my endurance training more.
"Seriously? You forgot it was the first day of the Magic School Tournament? I swear you guys are so weird." I smiled apologetically. "Anyways, the opening ceremony already finished, they're just about to announce the people participating in the matches. It's good you guys were able to at least make it for this part." She explained as I nodded, listening carefully.
I saw Professor Du standing in the middle of the arena with a few teachers standing behind her. Then I noticed all the other principals of the four magic schools standing in a triangle around her.
"And so now that the opening ceremony is completed." Professor Du spoke. She looked as confident and beautiful as ever. Her chin was raised high, her shoulders and back straight, her long jet black hair was let loose as it travelled down to her knees. She was wearing a long lavender and cyan coloured robe which were the colours of our school.
Standing right behind her was Professor Dill, the Headmaster of Cloud Tower. He was tall and handsome. Even with the blank face, he had on, his features were sharp and well sculpted. He wore a long dark green and gold coloured robe that was very fitting with his intimidating aura.
Standing on the left of the triangle was the Headmistress of Castlebroxo, Talia Oberon. Her family governs the royal city of Oberon and are the holy ancestors that discovered the place. Hence they named the city to show everyone their discoveries. She looked strict and sophisticated. She had an intense look on her face that scared even me. She wore a pastel-coloured blue, purple and pink robe that matched her tanned skin tone.
On the right side of the triangle stood the Principal of Transformer's High, Jeon Doyun. He had rough features and looked the oldest amongst all four principles. His eyes were a pretty shade of pastel pink but his body stance asserted his dominance. He was by far the shortest. His eyes roamed around the arena as he stared at all the students present as if he was observing everyone and pinpointing all their fears and weak points. He wore a robe coloured silver blue and turquoise that brought out his grey beard. He was really funny to look at, it kind of made me like him.
"Did you know," Irene started as I paid my attention to her? "Jeon Doyun is a transformer himself. His is one of the most powerful ones yet to be seen." She said as I looked at him in astonishment.
Is he the most powerful? How did I not know that? "What is his transformer then?" I asked, genuinely curious. "We just saw it for the opening ceremony but unfortunately you guys missed it."
"The creature he can transform into is a Dragon." Wow. I didn't even think you could transform into that.
"And so now we shall finally announce who will be participating in the first match of the Magic School Tournament!" All the students yelled in excitement but I continued to stare blankly at the Headmaster of Transformer's High.
Once everyone got quiet again, the three principles that were surrounding Professor Du, bent down on one knee and placed their hands on the ground in front of them.
Professor Du closed her eyes and put her hands together in a ball. Slowly the three principles ejected their power into the ground. It went into a straight line right towards Professor Du's feet. The ground beneath them glowed bright colours as we all stared in awe.
Suddenly it all stopped and the rest of the principles got back onto their feet.
Professor Du released her palms and come out with a small tiny light. I stared at it in confusion, what is that thing?
"The four people this light will choose are going to be the four participants in the first round of the Magic School Tournaments. One school will go against another, then for a break, we'll have a few contests in between for extra points. After the contest is finished and extra points have been awarded the next two schools are going to go against each other. This is one match." Professor Du explained as everyone listened attentively.
"For the first round we'll have a student from Castlebroxo go against another student from Transformers High And a student from Cloud Tower go against another student from Majestic Academy. The small contest that will occur
between these two battles is a cooking contest."
"And so now," she raised her right hand forwards, "Let the light pick whose worthy!" She exclaimed as the small little ball of light started fluttering around the whole stadium.
It moved so fast I could barely see it but once it stopped on students for a few seconds you could make out where it went. Sometimes it would just zip around a row of people and other times it would slowly move from one person to another as if they were taking a test and the light was the strict examiner.
Soon it landed on Seulgi's head and stood still.
"And we have our first pick!" Seulgi had a huge smile on her face as she got congrats from the people sitting around her and her group members.
"The one fighting for Castlebroxo in the first round of the Magic School Tournament is Kang Seulgi from Red Velvet!" Everyone cheered as she walked down the stadium and stood a few feet away from the Principles.
Once the cheering subsided the light then again started moving around and around until it stopped on an unfamiliar head.
"The one fighting for Transformers High in the first round of the Magic School Tournament is Moon Taeil from NCT!" The said guy shyly made his way to where Seulgi was standing. From my observations, he didn't like all that attention being put on him.
So he's a member of NCT huh? I know a few of them but since there are so many members of NCT I often lose track.
Both Taeil and Seulgi shook hands before going to their waiting rooms that were located under the seats of the stadium.
This time the light didn't even move around to examine some of the other students, as soon as it was released it landed a familiar face and everyone started whispering as they saw who was picked to fight.
I looked over at the light as all the attention was on Tzuyu who slowly made her way down to where Seulgi had previously stood. She kept her chin high and gracefully made her way down acting as if she was being crowned the next Queen of Majestia.
"The one fighting for Cloud Tower in the first round of the Magic School Tournament will be Choi Tzuyu from Twice!" Everyone cheered as I bit my lip in anticipation. I wished desperately that someone extremely strong from our school would go against her, since seeing Twice win brought up a lot of pent up rage.
The light soon moved again as everyone suddenly got quiet. The air was intense and no one knew who was going to be picked next. The anticipation was killing me. I just wanted to get this over with since it makes you so anxious but the small ball of light just kept moving slower and slower.
The light stopped in front of me for a while as I clenched my fists, don't tell me it's gonna pick me. I felt my heartbeat quicken and my breath started becoming uneven. Not me please, I don't want to go against a student from Cloud Tower. I knew my intelligence wasn't enough to go against her flames and so I begged religiously that I wouldn't get selected since logically, I would have a lesser probability to win.
I looked around to see everyone staring at me, even the headmasters and headmistresses. Professor Du raised her eyebrows as she examined the scene in front of her.
But before anyone could say anything the light moved away from me and swiftly went to the other side of the arena.
Everyone gasped and whispered amongst themselves as they saw the small little ball of light land on Lisa's head.
My eyes widened as I saw Hoseok look at her with worry. I looked around to see everyone from Bangtan and the Silence was shaken and none of us could barely even move.
"The one fighting for Majestic Academy in the first round of the Magic School Tournament will be Lalisa Manoban from The Silence!"
Everyone roared in excitement as Lisa made her way down the stadium until she stood right beside Tzuyu. The two didn't even bother to look at each other. Lisa's face was blank and unreadable, but it was obvious she was not enjoying the spotlight. Tzuyu on the other hand couldn't stop smiling, and I could immediately tell it was because she finally got another chance to prove her prominence against her.
Everyone knew there was a tone of tension between the two and that Lisa was the reason Tzuyu had been expelled from Majestic Academy.
They both hated each other and that was made very obvious by both of them from very early on in their years at the school.
I looked over to see a very worried Jungkook. He was biting his nails as he looked at the two girls standing side by side.
I wanted to go up to him and tell him it wasn't a big deal but he was too far for my reach so I just let it go and ended up paying my attention back to Lisa and Tzuyu.
They both shook hands before walking over to their waiting rooms. I tried to examine Lisa by her facial expressions and her movements but she seemed so numb and stiff I wasn't even sure if she was a robot or a human. Everyone who knew Lisa personally knew something was wrong.
She always wanted to be picked as a contestant in the Magic School Tournament. If you told me to imagine it I would have explained it as her jumping up and down and confidently walking down the stairs as she smirked at her opponent, knowing well enough that she would win. But her getting so robotic and expressionless was so concerning.
I didn't think this would be such a big deal for her, I thought she'd be rather excited. She would be facing her childhood nemesis in a proper battle that didn't end up in someone stopping the two of them, but my mind was filled with distress as I looked at her dead planned expression.
Tzuyu walked off the arena with confidence as if she knew she had already long won the match which irritated me.
Why did these two suddenly flip their roles? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?
"The first match between Seulgi and Taeil will start in fifteen minutes!" Professor Du announced as I signed.
Though I might not have the best intuition, something tells me that this is gonna end badly.
And by the look on the rest of the member's faces, I could tell they were thinking the same thing too.
"I'll go check on her."
