"Hey kid!" Yami called out to Asta, "Were you watching?"
"Uh... yes Sir?" Asta replied, unsure of what was coming up.
"That's good, because it's now your turn."
"Yes Sir!" And then he realized, the stars disappear in his eyes, "WAIT, WHAT DID YOU SAY!? THERE'S NO WAY I CAN DO THAT!"
"Yeah?" Yami grabbed onto Asta's head, his eyes glowing red, "Last I check I was still your Captain. Which means I tell you to do something, you do it."
Asta yelped as Yami gripped his head tighter. The mana less boy tried his best to break free, dangling his feet frantically.
"Assuming you want to be a real man, Shirmpsta." Yami bluntly said.
Valtos was sweating, He blocked master Licht attack. He even managed to fight back. The Captain of the Black Bulls... could his power rivals that of the Wizard King's?
Patri placed a hand on his wound, "Fascinating, the power of Dark Magic." His Grimoire flipped a page, "Now, light recovery magic healing light particles."
Isabella gave a blank stare, "Even I know that move."
"We both can use Light Magic." Patri faces her with a fond smile, "However, you use another too."
"Eh! She uses another!" Valtos exclaimed in surprise.
Patri turned to Valtos, "Valtos, I want you to get me both the kids. The Anti Magic boy and the blind girl. It doesn't matter if any of them are badly hurt. They should be alive."
"As you wish master."
Patri made more swords from his magic.
Yami then looks at Patri, "You ready to go?" He asked Asta.
HE WAS SERIOUS!? Asta's eyes were no longer present in him, "Sir, I can't do what you just did. You know I don't have magic."
"I'm not talking about that last attack, you moron. I meant this move where you block all of this light attacks, see." He says as he slashes the lights that came to him.
"How do I do it when I don't even know it's there?"
"Just explain it to him." Isabella said as she caught a light sword and held it. She clanged at the thing like she was holding a teddy bear.
Yami then began to explain Asta about Qi while Isabella was making herself busy with Valtos who was trying to capture her. The blind Golden Dawn just dodged his attack with ease or just counters them back with her light made sword and shield.
Having enough of it, she teleported next to Valtos and used a music spell, causing the Spatial Mage to fall asleep. Valtos was down.
"You know..." Patri spoke looking to Isabella who teleported back to Asta and Yami, "You never attack to harm anyone. That will be your undoing someday."
Isabella stares at Patri, "You are not evil. You are just misunderstood."
"Do you really think I can change?"
"You will, once you know what you truly are fighting for."
Patri blinked in surprise and confusion, What does she mean?
"Hey lovebirds, watcha talkin' about?" Yami then spoke.
"I put his minion to sleep for a while." Isabella spoke, "He'll wake up eventually and then Asta will fight him."
"WHAT!? YOU GUYS WANT ME TAKE ON THAT GUY!?" Asta freaked out, "WE TALKED ABOUT THIS! THERE'S NO WAY I'LL BE ABLE T-"
Yami lets out a puff of smoke from his mouth, "There's a saying where I'm from. Whatever happens a warrior never backs of against his words. You did say you were going to be the Wizard King, right? This is where you have to push past you limits. If you don't then your life will end here."
Asta stares at Yami for a moment until he replies, "Yes sir!" It seems like his captain's words really hit him hard. That's right, why is he in the magic knights? To become the wizard king of course!
Valtos began to groan as he stood up, caressing his head from the drowsiness he felt.
"Oh you're awake." Patri silently commented, "I'm glad."
"Master, did something happened?" Valtos asked, "Wait, how did I fall asleep?"
"Never mind that."
Asta got instance and focused. He held onto both of his sword and the Grimoire remained in front.
Let's see what you can do, Asta. Isabella gave a side glance.
I've no idea what I'm supposed to do. Asta thought to himself, I'll just concentrate, concentrate, concentrate, concentrate....
Valtos sighed in annoyance, "You think you can sense my attacks?
He fired a dark spell, opening a portal behind Asta.
"THERE IT IS!" He slashed the attack, but half of it was hit on his knees, "I guess... I missed some."
"Nice try." Yami kicked Asta at the butt making him fall forward, "You think I wouldn't notice you using just one of your senses. The only thing you work in there was your ears. That isn't reading qi. If you wanna do this right then you have to feel it with your whole body. You got that?"
"My whole body?"
"Yep don't rely mainly on your ears or just your eyes. It's like something between intuition and prediction. Now does it right this time or I'll kill ya!"
This is insane! Asta inhaled as he got instance, still, I think I got it now. Not only my ears. Not just my eyes. Alright... I got to reset everything. He closed his eyes and concentrate.
He then felt the dark beam approaching him, "THERE IT IS!" He slashed the beam that directly hit the spatial mage make him fall unconscious.
Patri was in shock as he witnessed his companion down on the ground.
"Haha! It worked!" Asta turned to Yami, "Captain Yami did you see?"
"Really? It actually worked? No way you're a freak." Yami said holding his hand close to his cigarette.
"WHHHAAAAATTTTTT!"
"And it is we freaks who gets the job done." Isabella smiled, "Good for you, Mr Sukihero. You're one of our kinds."
"Shut the hell up freaky blind girl. Geez, did Goldie spoiled you or somethin'? Rubbed his ideas on you perhaps?"
"More than my Captain, I believe I was rubbed more by two beloved boys who are striving for the best." She turns her head, smiling to Asta, "Thanks big brother."
Asta flushed but smiled, "Heh, anytime little sis."
Patri was staring at Valtos. He turned with a murderous glare, "You hurt him. How dare you?" His Grimoire flipped a page. Wind blowing from behind making his hair flew, "I will not allow humans to harm my companions! You've done too much damage already."
"Geez, what's this guy's problem?" Asta asked in annoyance, "They are the once who started this."
A bright light shined making Asta wince. Isabella just looks at it since she was looking at the color purple.
A long golden whip was made as Patri hold onto it, "As you can see, this particular spell traces an ever changing track whip like undulations. Can you anticipate these movements? Long ago, when a person had sins the punishment was flogging. One popular instrument used was a whip. I find this a very fitting end for the likes of you two."
"Two?" Isabella blinked in confusion, "We're three people."
"No, not you."
"Light Creation Magic: Light Whip of Judgement."
The golden whip clashed around the entire cave and at Yami who sliced the whips that came near him and Asta. Patri laughed as he swing the whips. It was like a little child making a kite fly.
The place began to crumble as the ceiling broke. Asta and Yami looks up in surprise as the debris fall on them.
Soon there was huge hole above. The sun was already out. The snow still remained. The sun ray bathed below the cave with sparkles of snow floating down.
Isabella was staring at the fallen debris as she landed on the ground.
The whip disintegrated in Patri's hand, "Goodness and here I was attempting to retrain myself. Poor fools you truly are weak. Your kingdom as well. It too will fall."
"You destroyed them, master." Valtos awed with a smile, "Surely a God would be able to wield such power. If you wished it, all the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom cower before you."
Isabella stares at the ground and then back to Patri and Valtos. She moved few distance away from the fallen debris.
The rocks began to move. Yami and Asta got off the pile with a yell. Isabella was protecting herself from her light made barrier.
"No they lived!?" Valtos was in disbelief.
Patri just stared at them in silence.
Yami laughed out loud, "Keep up that kind of focus and you will even start sensing qi out in nature. We don't have to worry about fallen rocks on your head."
"Awesome..." Asta threw his hand up, holding onto the sword, "Heck yeah! I love qi!"
"HERE WE GO! Time take the notch up and take down the white haired guy with the dotes on his face."
"EEEEEHHHHH!" the Asta composed, "Actually I think now I can take him. OH YEAH! WITH THE POWER OF QI ON MY SIDE THERE IS NOTHING I CAN'T DO! ALRIGHT YOU DOTTY FACE YOU READY TO GET BEAT!? HAHAHA!"
Yami kicked Asta's butt, "Woah! Easy there kid! That guy's mine. You wanna see what I can really do right?"
"Plus he'd just kill you." Isabella bluntly replied making Patri gave out a single chuckle.
"Oh come on. It's not fair! I got ready and got pumped up to fight the scary boss guy and everything."
"Don't care!" Yami ignored the boy, "You take down skinny bones lime face over there alright." Asta just grunted. Yami got in position
"I'll stay put and watch the battle." Isabella suggested, "I'll only be in your way."
"Okay, this is gonna be fun." The dark magic around him began to whirl, "Been a while since I had someone fight."
He began to pour dark magic out of him and dashed towards Patri, who flew away, sending out his swords of convictions at him. The said Magic Knight Captain began to slash them out of his way. Yami then engulfed his katana in dark magic and slashed a certain sword of conviction into two. He then rushed towards Patri who teleported out of the way. The surrounding light swords that were previously around the light mage were now surrounding the dark mage.
The light mage controlled the swords, sending them straight to Yami. A huge explosion with a blinding light was out. Yami however survived as he protected himself from the attack by being in a dark cocoon like structure. He slashed a dark cloak on the light mage who dodged by teleporting himself. He began to fly around. Yami sensed where he was and slashed his sword with his dark cloak attack.
Patri just intersects with his whips and get a hold of the dark mage's katana. He began to wave the katana with Yami still holding onto it. Soon Yami released the katana and ran around the walls with Patri still firing the swords.
"Dark Magic: Lifeless Slash!"
A dark beam was formed, slashing out all the gold beams that Patri released towards him. Patri dodged the upcoming attack on him.
I thought as much. My magic is being drowned in. Patri thought as he calmly stared at the Black Bull.
"Such is the power of the Dark Magic. No matter. Now you have revealed what you are capable of, I should be able to evade capture easily enough."
"Listen..." Yami spoke out, "You were telling us some weird fairy tale earlier. But that wasn't the end of it, was it. You're carrying around a Grimoire with a clover on it; you must be from around here. Why attack your homeland!?"
They began to fight further. Patri made sword out of his magic and clashed with Yami in a sword fight. The light age brought his whips out slashing them at Yami. At one point the captain was in the air.
"You're wide open!" Patri slashed. But his whip was slashed into piece. The light mage's eyes widened, Was that his plan leaving me to be careless? Yami sukihero, you are formidable indeed. Patri grinned.
Yami slashed the ground, picking up the wind wild. Asta stumbled while Isabella stayed still.
"Alright, cut the crap!" Yami pointed his word on Patri, "Now tell me what you're really after?"
"You must see some things that others can't see." He opened his eyes, "Having come from another land, the twisted way of this kingdom, some here are the verge of starving while others just carve at what they can't finish. Citizens' ranks are supposedly determined by there power and yet some are met by discrimination despite their magic, despite their strength of their magic. Others are persecuted with a simple crime of being born in a different land. These disparities are reasons why we taint the kingdom are reason why we exist. We were born in order to see them rectified."
Well..." Yami scratched his hair, "Seems like you people are doing the same thing going around hurting people. Well that's kind of dumb."
"No, it makes perfect sense. It merely response to your sin and kind."
"Yeah I get. You just want to do things your way. And I sorta like that attitude. But..." Yami jumps, "YOU REALLY ANNOY THE HELL OUT OF ME!" He slashes a dark cloak on him. Patri just dodges it and uses his whip to get Yami.
Soon, Valtos used his dark beam on the Captain which he easily dodges and landed next to Asta who squeaked as the Captain landed
He almost squashed me!?
"I told to take on skinny pants over there. I wouldn't give you more than that." Yami looks at Asta, "Do something, fight your own way."
Asta stares at Yami in wonder, "Yes sir!"
Asta then took stance, facing Valtos. Isabella stayed at the side looking at Asta and Valtos.
To Valtos' surprise and Isabella's wonder, Asta throws his sword in the air.
"You threw your own weapons off!?" Valtos was beyond shock, "Then I'll finish you off with one blow!"
He charged his attack. Asta stayed calm looking at Valtos. Soon a portal opened behind Asta.
Then Asta jumped inside the portal and came near Valtos in an instance, he then punched him on the face, the Spatial Mage user was send flying on the ground.
"hahaha! You punched him to fight!? You're a funny one, you know that right?" Yami praised Asta.
Isabella gave a small smile.
"your guards down." Patri appeared behind him and slash his whip on him.
"You sure about that?" Yami absorbed his whip, turning the whip dark black.
He absorbed my attack! Patri thought, And... I can't move!
"Dark magic: dark hole. And dark magic: dark cloak black blaze."
Dark magic was released as it began to envelop Patri. Both, the Captain and the Leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun stared at each other. One with a surprised look, while the other with a determined look.
In a blink, the entire place was in rubbles as dust was everywhere. Isabella leaped out of her place and stood where Asta was. He began to get up.
"Captain Yami Sir." Asta called out.
Yami laughed pointing at Asta, "You fell down!"
Patri was indeed impressed by the Captain of the Black Bulls magic. Not only it is the opposite to Light Magic but it had tremendous advantages against Light Magic despite being slow.
"What are you waiting for?" Yami asked "Why not use you Recovery Magic. So that I can jam this baby in your chest area, since it's not worth the trouble."
"I will admit, you are indeed strong. Only the second fit of the power to defeat me." His Grimoire began to flip, "But I'm afraid I have no more time to waste."
"Hold on back up real quick. What do you mean I'm the second one?"
"There was someone before you." He raised his right hand, "The man who wounded my hand so badly that it will never recover." He moved his sleeve, showing his injured hand that looked impossible to heal, "Wizard King, Julius Novachrono. My greatest foe still remains."
"So that's why I was looking at all that black in your hand for?" Isabella mumbled to herself.
Ever since the beginning of Patri's presence in the cave, Isabella noticed that color black around Patri's right arm. Sending out more waves, she can tell that his hand was injured. However, she has no idea how much terrifying his hand looked at the moment. His hand literally seemed to dehydrate from the lack of water, just like a plant, and the burned within a wild fire, leaving nothing but its remains.
"That's right." Patri gave a smile, "And now." His Grimoire began to glow, "This shall be my most powerful spell so far." A strong glowing ball of white light was charging up, "To swift for to evade. To powerful and extensive for your magic to draw in before. There's no escaping in fate. This will be your undoing. This is the end for you Captain of the Black Bulls."
"WHATEVER!" Asta raises his sword up, "DON'T UNDERESTIMATE CAPTAIN YAMI! YOU THINK YOU'RE SOMEONE SPECIAL!? PLEASE, HE GOT NOTHING ON YOU-"
"Nah, this could go pretty bad." Yami sighed.
"HE'S GONNA WIPE THE FLOOR WITH YOU-"
"He's got some nasty magic."
"WWWWHHHHHHAAAAA!"
"He's got a point." Isabella said as she stares at the purple welling up, "It has a very high amount of mana. This will probably be the end. Unless I can counter it back since it is my spell."
"You too young man." Patri spoke, "Will be punished for what you did to Valtos. And I will be taking that Grimoire."
Isabella then looks at her sides and then back to Patri, "What about me?" She points at herself.
"Step aside so I can kill them and of course, you will come with me."
"My place is with the Golden Dawn. Not the terrorists."
"It will be your place soon."
Someone with a four leaf clover has tremendous magic. Yami thought, If I can surprise him, then I maybe able to counter his attack. What to do? What to do? What to do? His eyes turned blank, Nah! That's future Yami's problem.
The blind Golden Dawn moved her hands forward, creating a same energy ball out, "But I'm not going to allow you to kill anyone." She turned to Yami, "I'm sorry to ask you this, but I want you to make a barrier out of your Dark Magic that can shield all three of us. I will of course fire this too."
"I don't like someone else giving me orders." He then enveloped all three of them in the dark cocoon he once made earlier, "But for our safety and since you asked nicely, I'll let it slip."
Isabella smiled, "Thank you sir."
"Since this will be our last, think you can tell me why you did not join the Black Bulls, when you were about to point at me?"
"DIE!?" Asta was losing it, "AND WE'RE SUPPOSE TO ACCEPT THAT!?"
Isabella remained silent for a while looking at Patri. She gave a side glance, "Because, I feel like I belong close to the people I never was able to meet. And they all are in Golden Dawn."
Yami just gave a calculating stare.
"THERE'S SOMETHING WE CAN DO!?" Asta asked with his eyes absent.
"You know the rule Asta." Isabella said, "Don't give up."
"THAT'S AN AWESOME IDEA!"
"Take your last breath, Yami Sukihero." Patri smiled.
"I'm ready when you are." Isabella smiled, holding onto her light.
"Engaging Light Magic: Divine Light of Punishment!"
Patri fired his magic, coming in full speed. Isabella kept on charging it, until she let's go of the energy, minimizing her power. She didn't fire it.
"Wait, ISABELLA!" Asta screamed.
"So this also your end too?" Patri frowned.
Isabella looks up, giving an innocent smile, "Nope."
In an instant, a huge mirror appeared along with Gauche.
"But he will be your end for now."
Patri's eyes widened, "He came back?"
"Go Mirror Magic!" He pulled his hair from his left eye, exposing a mirror that was in place of his eyes, "Full Reflection!"
The beam reflected and hit Licht, who was caught off guard. The explosion even landed outside of the cave, creating a humungous hole.
"Your magic might be fast and powerful." Gauche spoke, "But mirror will always reflect light!"
Patri fall to the ground, exhausted, his Grimoire lie opened next to him.
The battle was over... they won...
