"Faster... faster." My breathing starts to increase as adrenaline rushes through my body. Fuck, this feels so good! But holy hell, it hurts so bad. "Okay, slow down!"
I begin to slow down on my jumping jacks. It's been nearly two weeks and I just got out of my cast yesterday. My ribs feel better too! I feel like I can do anything! I can conquer the world!
But I haven't been active for more than a month and feel like shit. Goddammit. But you know what? All this working out has made me hungry and I think I deserve a milkshake. Wiping the sweat off my forehead and catching my breath, I exit my really large bedroom that I totally don't deserve.
I walk down the staircase this time instead of taking the elevator like last time. Gotta burn some calories when I can, right? Goodness me, why is walking down the staircase so tiring?
I make a mental note to look out for drugs in the kitchen as I browse through the refrigerator, looking for things to put in my milkshake. I grab the milk and pour it into the blender.
Ew, strawberries. Ah! Apples. They're my literal favorite fruit in the world, I just can't get enough of them, but they most certainly don't do well in a milkshake. But who said this milkshake has to be healthy?
I look around for chocolate. Anna seems like the type of person to be high on chocolate all the time, so there must be some around. Ooh! Found it! I toss a bar into the blender and start to blend them together.
Just as I'm pouring the milkshake into a glass, I notice Adrian, Anna and Blake all moving towards the front door. "You suspect everyone. You can't suspect her too!"
"I can and I will. I know she's disloyal."
"Then just let her go." At this point, I'm totally hooked into the conversation that I have to join then.
"Where are you guys going?"
"You shouldn't ask that, or it's bad luck," Blake points out. Anna is patting his ass the entire time. Why am I so single?
"Where are you guys coming home from?" I rephrase my question.
"Adrian has a personal issue he needs to sort out. Wanna come with?"
"No!" Adrian shouts.
"Yes!" I shout at the same time. I look over at Anna who nods approvingly. Adrian grumbles a few curse words under his breath that he thinks I didn't hear, but I did hear, but I'm not going to say what he said, because it's very inappropriate and I'm trying to keep this rated R.
That means what he said was super inappropriate.
"She's not coming."
"Yes, I am."
"You have no business there."
"I could pee there. Then I'd have done some business."
"Anna. Why did we have to keep this crackhead in my house?"
"It's not a house, it's a fucking palace," I tell him.
"I told you to let her go," Anna gives him that 'I told you so' look.
"It's not like I'll tell the po-po," I give him puppy eyes, but I probably look like a zombie because of all the sleepless nights. These damn nightmares won't leave me alone, will they?
"I'm not taking any risks with the po-po... I mean police!" He shoots back.
"Then in that case, I'm coming with you. If I'm stuck here until death, I might as well do something fun with you all."
"What I'm about to do is not fun."
"Whatever. I'm coming."
"Fine!" He raises his hands in defeat. Anna pats me on the back.
"You're learning fast," She tells me, nodding approvingly. I grin at her, while Blake gives me a thumbs up. I follow after them and into a black car. I sit in the passenger seat, because the back seat is too traumatizing.
Anna and Blake get into their own car, so it's just me and this fucker.
"That seat is not for you," Adrian glares.
"It is now."
"Get in the back."
"No."
"I'm going to put you in the trunk if you don't."
"No."
"Don't make me do this the hard way."
"No."
"You're such a child!"
"No."
"Fine!" He shouts, frustratedly and starts the car. Once we're on the road, I turn on the radio and roll down my window. Wind starts blowing powerfully and I stick my head like a dog, but I don't stick my tongue out, because heaven knows what germs these roads carry.
"Put your damn head back in the fucking car!"
"I feel so free and wild!"
"I'm rolling up the window in three... two... don't make me say fucking one!"
Oh well, the wind was getting too strong anyway. I put my ass back into it's seat and turn to Adrian. "Where are we going anyway?"
He grunts in response. Wow, someone's grumpy. "Fine, be that way, grumpy pants."
He doesn't reply. Wow, people are so rude these days. Well, I should be used to be, I grew up in the hood, but like, I never really talked to anyone other than Mr. Rodriguez, and he was pretty nice.
There was Jamal Rodriguez... but he was shot. I feel my eyes begin to tear up, but I push the memories of him to the back of my head.
"Are you single?" I ask, smiling like a loon. Again, silence. What is it with him and his obsession with not replying to me? "You're such a Misanthrope."
"What?"
"Search it up."
"Tell me."
I don't reply to him. Ha! See how he likes it! After a while of awkward silence I begin to get really annoyed. "I think my girlfriend is cheating on me, so I'm going to where she is right now. And no I'm not single. Now tell me what the fuck a Misanthrope is."
"A Misanthrope means someone that avoids contact with people, and stays away from them."
"Hm." After a while, his car comes to a complete halt and he gets out. I follow. Anna and Blake are already here, and Blake seems to be teasing her by running his hands up her shirt and feeling her breasts.
Wow, now I know what Adrian feels like when they're around. "Follow me, and please, for the love of God, stay quiet."
"Aye aye."
He walks up the stairs and towards a certain apartment door. "Anna, pick the lock," He says. Anna quickly does some work to the lock and it opens. Anna looks at Blake and winks.
Do they have to be so couply all the time? Give it a break!
Adrian steps inside, and holy fuck, he's so gracefully quiet. I try to mimic him, but almost end up falling. It's okay, good thing I've got killer balance. Blake and Anna end up staying outside, but I follow Adrian because I would definitely not want to be a third wheel around them.
When he reaches the bedroom, he slowly clicks it open. I make sure to close my eyes, because I don't know what the fuck I'm walking into. I hear a girl scream, and my eyes end up snapping open.
"I'm too young to see this!" I shout, turning around. There is a literal half naked girl and a full naked dude on the bed.
"I knew it! I fucking knew it! You were cheating on me!" Adrian shouted. Okay, maybe I'll turn around just to watch the drama.
By now, the girl has a shirt on, so I take her in. She's got the most beautiful black skin, and chocolate eyes. Her hair... goodness me, that looks gorgeous as fuck. I wish my hair could look like that. They're braided into small braids and they have the most gorgeous beads on them.
Too bad she's cheating on her boyfriend though. Me and her could have been friends... I really need one of those.
"Baby, it's not what it looks like," She starts.
"I don't want to hear it, Ava. I knew something was up when you had such a strong cologne scent. I knew I didn't wear that much fucking cologne."
"You have a boyfriend?" The naked dude asks. Well, he was naked, but now he has a shirt on and a sweatpant. "Ava, what the fuck?"
"This is awkward..." I mumble to myself, scratching my head.
"It's okay, I can fix this!" Ava offers. Ha, like that'll work.
"And just to show you how it fucking feels." Adrian grabs my face and pulls me towards his lips.
Woah baby.
