I'm bored...
Dream was currently laying down on his bed, flat on his back and arms spread out. Nothing special had happened for the past few days. Error and Ink had made a small truce a few years ago, Nightmare and him were still not in good terms and Blue is mostly in his AU. He was alone again, Ink left to go somewhere and never mentioned where he went and Blue.. you know where he is.
Dream sat up and decided to pass time at a random AU. He thought of AUs he hasn't visited yet and realized he already visited all the available AUs. He flopped back down to his bed and sighed heavily in boredom. After a few minutes of thinking more of which AU to go, his brother popped into his mind. If only they were still brothers, they would have been bonding with each other or napping under a tree. And then something came into his mind. Maybe he can bond with 'his' 'brother'!
Dream stood up and opened a portal that leads to DreamSwap. [Bare with me]
Dream arrived at Dreamswap and was greeted by a windy, summer day. He heard clashes and shouting somewhere near and decided to check it out. He teleported to the place where the noise came from and saw the alternate versions fighting in the woods. Dream lowered his aura and hid so no one can see him but he can still see everyone fighting since he was on top of a hill. Some were fighting and some were trying to flee or at least get away from their enemies, but only one person caught Dream's attention. His own alternate self. DS!Dream was chasing his brother, who was trying to run away. DS!Nightmare's shoulder was bleeding badly and he had many cuts and bruises. Dream needed to do something to help. He ran out from his hiding place catched up with the two unnoticed. He grabbed DS!Nightmare by the back of his collar and teleported themselves to where Dream was hiding earlier.
DS!Nightmare thought that he was finally caught by his brother but when he saw who it was, he was in shock, thinking that his brother turned back to his passive form. "D-Dream?!?!" Dream put a finger on his mouth to silence Nightmare. "Stay here while I'll go get the others." Dream then vanished and then reappeared back with the other members. And then, he started to heal them.
"Dream? W-why are you healing us??" DS!Nightmare asked.
"Oh, right. I'm not technically your brother. I'm his alternate version and I came from another multiverse." Dream explained. After he was finished healing them, they all went back to their base and Dream stayed there with them a little bit more.
DS!Nightmare and Dream were walking in the garden while the others went to their usual routine. While in the garden, Dream was busy exploring the whole place while DS!Nightmare was still questioning what had happened. "So you're an alternate version of my brother?" Dream nodded. "So why are you here?"
Dream snapped in realization on how did he forgot. "Oh! I just wondering if I could hang out with you..? Just like how you and your brother used to do it in the... you know." Dream asked shyly, talking about their similar past was quite weird and awkward since it was like talking once self in front a mirror.
"Uh.. sure? But what about your own brother? My alternate self??"
"He's more like your brother.." Dream saddened at the thought of his own brother again. He taught that befriending the dreamswap version of his brother would be cool but he just realized that it seems all wrong, exchanging his real brother from a swap version.
'I-I I'm sorry!! I didn't mean to-" DS!Nightmare panicked but got quickly got cut off by Dream. "It's fine." Dream smiled and changed the topic. "So I'm supposed to call you in another name so we wouldn't get confused. I'll call you Night!" Dream exclaimed and Night agreed. "And what about me?"
"Starshine?"
"Alright!" The two eventually started to talk about themselves and became close, treating each other like they were their real sibling. Dream hanged out with Night every single day, they would hang out in the garden, make flower crowns and take naps under a tree. Until... one day, one of them felt something different. Felt something different and saw the other more than a friend or a sibling. Night fell in love.
"H-hey Starshine?" Night stuttered, sweat beads forming on his skull, his nervousness was catching Dream's attention. "Yeah? Is there something wrong, Night??"
"I.. wanted t-to- uh.." Night stopped for a few moments just to find the right words while Dream waited patiently but was confused about the mix emotions inside of him and he was clearly blushing a lot. "I wanted to say I-" Night stopped again.
"Wanted to say what?"
Finally, Night gathered his courage and finally let it out. "I-I l-like you, Dream." Night blushed madly while Dream only had a small, yellow tint on his face. "I don't mean 'like' you. I mean.. 'like like' you."
"Night.." Night was preparing himself for the upcoming result, whether he was going to be accepted or get rejected. "I'm sorry." Night felt something dropped in the inside of him when he heard those two words. "I'm sorry but I don't look at you in that way."
"Oh... It's f-fine. I-I'm okay heh. I... need to go." Night's eye sockets started to brim with tears and he was about to go but he was pulled back into a hug by Dream. "I'm sorry but having you as a friend already makes me happy. Can we just stay fr- .. can we stay as brothers?"
Night was out of words but he hugged back, letting his tears roll out from his eye sockets.
"Okay, brother."
