A warm, yet chilling wind rolled through the autumn trees, as a fancy limousine pulled up to the sixteenth house down on Blueberry Lane. Five individuals of fame and popularity were invited to a prestigious dinner. They all received a semi-golden card with the location, theme, and the names of the people who will be at the dinner. Location? 6492 Blueberry Lane, which resides in a wealthy neighborhood said to have extravagant houses for the rich. Theme? 1920s fashion, which was known for its flamboyant dresses and ever-so-dashing suits. The names? The cards they received give descriptions of everyone who will be attending the dinner. Here are the individuals of great fortune and status.
A young woman by the name of Wendibell Lilith, smoothly exits the limousine, wearing a light cream colored dress, lined with shiny jewels, with thin tassels on the end. Her headpiece wrapped around her head like a headband, and was laced with small pearls. She wore plain beige heels, but her outfit outshined them greatly. Her complexion was like pale milk, but it seemed to glisten in the sun. As she steps out, she lets out a sigh with a smile. "That ride took ages! It feels good to stretch my legs!" She then proceeds to stretch herself out in various positions, grunting loudly. If we look on the card, it states... "Wendibell, or Wendi, as she likes to go by, is what you would call a superhero in the modern world. A model for Margus by day, and an actor with true depth by night. With a personality to light the whole room up (contrary to her usual portrayals of dark and depressing characters) people tend to be drawn to her." Wendi looks around her surroundings, grinning from ear to ear. "Oooh I hope they have shrimp! I will DIE for shrimp." From behind her, she heard light shuffling. She steps aside to let the next person exit the limousine.
Bliss, a woman with a tall, slender figure shimmies out of the limousine, flaunting her bright pink dress, which almost seems to complement her caramel tone. The dress appears to bloom like a rose on the end, a bit like the fake rose that adorned her curly hair. Like her hair, there were similar pink roses below, which stick out in various spots on her lavender heels. As she turns to Wendi, she lets out a hearty groan. "I cannot even fathom how someone can be so chipper after such a long car ride. Tone it down a notch." Wendi frowns a bit, but regains her composure as she starts to walk towards the mansion. On the card, the following is said... "Amy Rose has told the tale of how she first started singing in her church when she was only twelve. Her smooth, silky voice would make you quiver inside. Her mother took a video and insisted that it was posted online, and her fan-base grew exponentially. After some time had passed, and many songs and albums were released, she got nicknamed "Bliss" because many individuals say they experience nothing but bliss when she sings." She struts towards the mansion, broadcasting a powerful presence, as the next few guests get out from the limousine.
From the left side of the vehicle, emerges Beatrice, a short, chubby lady, wearing a pure white fur coat, and a short dress with pink and white swirls, resembling an ice cream of sorts. All of the bright colors make her light skin look darker in comparison. As she loudly chews her bubble gum, she pulls down her magenta aviators and eyeballs the place with a hint of disgust. "Please tell me this is the wrong address." She complains, while spitting her gum onto the ground. "I hope they did not make me get all dolled up for a mansion like...this." She dramatically fake gags, as she slams the door, uncaring of the people still in the car. On the invitation card, it says... "Beatrice Applepatt, the creator of Applepatt's Finery, has one motto for those who wear her clothes. "The clothes don't make the person, it's the confidence of the person that wears it." With her company producing a plethora of designs and garments for both males and females to wear, the products of her multimillion dollar company can be seen far and wide." As she trudges towards the mansion, with her shiny white wedges clapping against the ground, the last two individuals exit the limousine.
Prince, a young man, opens the car door which was slammed in his face, and awkwardly exits the limousine. He wore a red and black checkered shirt, with slight muscles that made the shirt appear tight. His black suspenders rose up from his jet black pants, and atop his curly head he wore a small black fedora. His shiny black dress shoes made him look as though he were about to break out and start tap dancing, and his hazel skin seemed to fade in and out of being gold in the sun. As he begins to exit the car, he fumbles about and accidentally bumps the back of his head on the car roof. "Ouch! Can't I be fashionable for one second?" He whimpers loudly, as he rubs his hand on the area of his head that he hit. If we take a look on the card, it says..."Prince Paxton is often referred to as the Animal Prince. He is responsible for reaching out to dozens of organizations to help preserve the lives of several endangered species. With over ten million followers, he is also famous on several social media platforms for his videos featuring many adorable and feisty creatures." As he approaches the house with all of the other individuals, the last guest exits the limousine.
Ivy, a tall, delicate woman exits the limousine like she's about to step onto the red carpet. Her baby blue dress was like a summer river, with various floral patterns. Her complicated dark blue heels were the perfect addition to her outfit. With skin like rich, expensive milk chocolate, it made her appear like a high-priced treasure, where the tiniest bit of dust could ruin its beauty. If we look on the card, it says..."Ivy Fagolbold is well known for her melancholous teen novels, such as "The Delight in Ignorance" and "Snuff Out the Flame". Many of her works were in high demand amongst many teens and even some adults looking to escape into a world of youthful drama. People often use the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover" when talking about Ivy, because she may have a regal appearance, but her kind soul screams adolescence on the inside." As she closes the car door, she takes a step towards the driver's door with windows far too dark, and gives it a knock. One second goes by. Two seconds. Three seconds. The door remained shut and the windows remained up. "I just wanted to say thank you for driving us all the way here, have a good rest of your day." Ivy said kindly, as she walked around the limousine to approach the mansion. As Ivy makes her way, she turns and gives the limousine one last look. Out of the corner of her eye, she seemed to think she saw the driver, wearing some sort of white mask, through the heavily tinted windows. She shook her head and said to herself "That long drive must have me seeing things," as she arrived at the mansion doors.
The mansion's exterior was glorious. Its structure consisted of red and brown bricks that looked like they were fresh from the brick factory. The lawn had various striped patterns, and the hedges along the ends of the lawn were trimmed in various shapes. The rounded windows were tinted gray, and their rims were snow white, as if they were painted seconds ago! The top of the mansion was lined with smooth gray tiles, and thin metal pillars with cross symbols were scattered across the roof. The entrance had a few brick stairs that led to huge chestnut doors with golden knobs.
Wendi sizes the mansion up and down in awe. "It looks like this mansion was made, like, two seconds ago!" Ivy takes a step back to observe the place and nods in agreement. "Just looking at the place makes me nervous. I hope I don't dirty the floors." Ivy jokes.
"Has someone rang the doorbell yet? My feet are getting tired." says Beatrice. Everyone looks at each other and shrugs. "So you mean to tell me, we have just been standing out here, looking like buffoons? This dinner hasn't even started and I'm already over it." Beatrice whines, as she goes to press the doorbell.
Just as she was about to press it, the doors creak open. From behind the door, appears a man covered head to toe with black apparel, wearing a single white mask
distorted into a frown, like one you would find in theatres.
Beatrice jumps back, almost tumbling down the entrance stairs. "EEP!" she exclaims. Everyone looks at the figure with slight discomfort, except for Bliss.
"Nice Halloween costume." Bliss says, smirking at the get-up. The man takes a bow, and in a deep voice, begins to speak. "Those of you who have received the invitation, please make your way to the dining room straight ahead." One by one, everyone makes their way past the man and into the mansion. As the final person enters the mansion, the man takes one last look outside the door, then closes it with a loud "THUMP".
