THIS YEAR

CHAPTER 7

Inem's POV

"That Midas The Jagaban guy is actually mad!" Kasi said "Come We Bill Eh was a bop, I listened to it like every day during this break," Kasi said doing the dance

Kasi loved to dance, I guess that was her second favorite thing to do apart from taking pictures, that's why she's in the Photography Club. 

"Yeah yeah but he can't be compared to my Burna Boy" I squealed

"Ugh! You and this your obsession" Kasi rolled her eyes.

"It's not an addiction, I just can't...." I hesitated

"Listen to and acknowledge any other artist?" Kasi filled in my sentence "Oh except for Wizkid and Rema"

"Yeah you can put it like that," I said

"Fool!" Kasi said in my face and I giggled

We just walked into our block and diverted ways into our various classrooms.

I walked into my class and took my seat and looked through the window. I saw Victor and Simi walk hand in hand, I squeezed my eyes hard and bent my head to my table. That glimpse made me remember the dream I had of both of them. They were kissing heavily then they exchanged 'i love you's ' but the weird part was that Kasi was in the room watching them, but a very thin and transparent cloth covered her eyes, and I was watching them from outside the window.

While I was trying my hardest to comprehend the meaning of that disturbing dream I felt someone tap my arm "The principal calls for you" Miguel said in a  fake Britsh accent then burst into a loud laugh 

"Ok Harry Styles wannabe," I said getting up

"That's an insult to Harry Styles" Kelechi corrected

"Kelechi you really want to start being grumpy now, It's too early don't you think?" Miguel defended

"Tell yourself that the next time you want to pull whatever you just did," Kelechi said in disgust

I just smiled and left the room

I made my way to the principal's office I saw a group of girls surrounding Jesse the new boy, 'Oh God Yeron girls will not kill me' I said to myself once I saw one of them volunteering to carry his bag for him.

I walked into the principal's office and knocked on his door.

"Come in," He said from inside

"Good morning sir," I said walking in

"Good morning Inem, how are you?" He said with a smile and gestured to a seat in front of him

"I'm fine sir," I said and sat down on the chair

"I spoke to some of the prefects and they pointed you out tremendously, seeing that you are very smart, very social, very competitive" He began

"Well thank you, sir I try my best," I said

"And with that thought, I thought 'who else would be better for this role?" He continued

"What role?" I asked

Then Jesse barged into the principal's office

"I'm sorry I'm late sir, I got caught up" He apologized and sat beside me

"Caught up in girl's hearts" I muttered

"What was that?" Jesse asked but I didn't answer

"Inem, you have been selected to give all new students in your set a thorough orientation, let them know everything they need to know. The school is trying a new system where instead of the school giving its orientation a good student from each set is appointed to give them their very own orientation, that way they new students can have more insights on how it feels to be a Yeron student. It's a Thursday morning, all new students must report to my office and inform me about the orientation" He said
