It was a fine morning. It was six o'clock at the dawn, and the sun was just rising. It is now time for the servants of Landerborne House to awaken their masters. A particular young handmaiden entered the bedchamber of the Third Young Lady of the Household, to which she caters to. She was holding a wash basin that she promptly placed at the vacant table near her mistress's bed. Afterward, she proceeded toward the enormous window of the room and drew its heavy curtain to the sides.

"Milady, it's morning already! It is time to prepare for breakfast, and later this afternoon, the dresses for the night after tomorrow will be delivered!" The handmaiden told the Young Lady who promptly open her eyes as she stared at the ceiling in a daze.

"Night after tomorrow..." The Young Lady muttered to which the young handmaiden replied with a smile. "Yes, Milady... You will be officially recognized as an adult, and will finally be eligible for marriage." The handmaiden said even further with a hint of excitement for her mistress. "Right." the young lady replied, still in a daze.

Suddenly, the handmaiden remembered something. "I almost forgot, Milady. Her Imperial Majesty, the Empress has sent you a letter. It just arrived this morning, and the butler delivered it here as soon as it arrived." She said as she rushed towards the mantle of the fireplace, in the young lady's room, and took the envelope with the Imperial family's seal on it.

"The Empress?" Still not in her right state of mind, the young lady asked once more. The handmaiden stared at her mistress as she sighs. "Milady, are you still not awake yet?" She asked further as she placed her hands on her hips, signaling her disappointment. The young lady finally snapped out of her half-awake state. "Ah, Imperial Aunt, was it?" She asked as she finally rolled out of her bed to proceed to the wash basin prepared for her to wash her face with.

After which, she press on towards her handmaiden and took the envelope to see what the letter was all about.

To my dearest Frieda,

Your elder brother wrote to me about how you contracted the flu. I want you to know how concerned your family, in us, is. Elois, Albert, and our dear Annie are all saddened by the news of your sickness. As the eldest member of our family, I want to express our wish for your hasty recovery, and hope by the time this letter arrives in your hands, you are finally well-recovered. I hope you visit us here in Odinstadt, soon.

Send my regards to your elder siblings as well.

Sincerely Yours,

Freya von Furstenberg

The letter was brief, but it could express the sadness it wanted to convey for the Young Lady Frieda, to which the latter was touched about. 'At least there are people who went all the trouble to write Frieda, a letter that wished for her recovery.' Frieda thought to herself. "Such loving people." She added, making her handmaiden smile at her tenderly.

"Let's get you ready for breakfast, milady." The handmaiden told her, so she nodded in response.

'This ash-blond hair, deep blue eyes, fair-toned skin... I could never get used to these new features of mine.' Frieda thought as she can only see the reflection of the 'Lady' Frieda, and not herself while looking at the mirror as her handmaiden brushed her hair. "Maria." She called the handmaiden, who was tending to her. "Yes, milady?" The latter responded.

"Isn't it odd that I recovered from the flu that has a ninety percent fatality rate, in such a short time and with no complications?" She asked Maria, the handmaiden, which caused the latter to halt what she was doing. Her eyes widened as she stared at her mistress.
