I hated being helpless. I like being able to do things, to run and play and have fun with Henry and Emma. Not sit on the side lines waiting watching. But I knew I had to fully recover before I start doing things like playing tag in the backyard. I couldn't even get dressed without having Emma help me. I am not even aloud to wear tight dresses anymore.
On our way to the doctor's office for my ultrasound, we had to stop because of "morning sickness" and for me it doesn't just occur in the mornings.
"Ready?" Emma asked smiling
"Of course, but can I please walk?" I asked
"No, there is a hill and I don't need you to be in pain." She said kissing my forehead
Once I was in my wheelchair and I signed in and gone back to my room, the doctor asked to put a hospital gown. Emma had to help of course.
"Ok Regina, this is going to be kind of cold." He said
And it was. It was some jelly type of thing and it was cold. Emma giggled when I did a little jump when he put the jelly on. Then next thing we knew we saw our baby. And we heard a heartbeat. Then we heard another heartbeat.
"Congratulations Ms.Mills, you are having twins!" The doctor said
"Twins!" I yelled quietly. I how can me and Emma handle twins! Emma just sat there in shock. Not moving, only the squeeze tightening let me know she was still breathing.
"Now, can I take a look at your bottom area?" He asked
"Yeah sure." I said still not able to comprehend that it was twins, not just one baby. He lifted my legs up and started touched me and asked if this hurt or if this did. He said I am now able to not use the wheel chair as much, and begin walking a lot more.
"Wait, can I see the ultrasound again?" Emma asked
"Of course." The doctor went over to the computer and opened up the file. She recorded the two heart beats beating together. Then took a picture of our two babies.
"I promise, we can get through this. I love you." Emma said helping me into the car
"I know we can, because together we can conquer the world." I said smiling
