Al Mualim smiled proudly down at Altaїr who bowed before him, loyally. Always loyal, even when he was being disobedient the man was loyal to him, Al Mualim. He was the perfect pawn for his plans, the one he need not have to use the Apple on in the end if all went as planned, and Al Mualim had no doubts that his plan would go as intended. The assassins under his hold were like sheep, ready to believe anything he told them.

They were all so loyal. Loyal to the creed’s tenets. Loyal to him.

“You have proven yourself once again, Altaїr. For your efforts you will gain one piece of equipment back. You know where your next target lies.” As Al Mualim spoke he gestured to the weapon upon the table that he had taken from Altaїr before, in a bid to discipline him once again. He had grown cocky and that was unacceptable for his plans.

However, it did serve the dual purpose of squashing the other Templar agents that would foil his own plan for the Apple. And for that, Al Mualim figured Altaїr’s temporary disobedience had been a blessing in disguise, as he was now able to use the assassin for his own gain and rid himself of those Templars.

Al Mualim turned away, staring out the window as he continued to muse, hearing the man behind him take up the stronger dagger and placing it in the sheath upon his back. As the man left, Al Mualim’s lips had stretched out into a thin smirk; he only had to wait until the man finished the nine targets and all would go as he wanted. The other assassin’s would have to be subdued by the Apple, no doubt. But Altaїr was talented, he was special. It would be waste to subdue that with the Piece of Eden.

In order to keep that talent at its best, unfogged by the Apple, he would have to keep Altaїr’s loyalty to him unbroken. Binding.

“Just like a dog…” Al Mualim chuckled lowly, watching as the man appeared in his vision, rushing around everyone, eager to get to the next target and regain all those ranks he had lost. “Just as loyal as a stupid dog…”
