SMILING.

OPHELIA WAS DROPPED OFF AT the train station early (which certainly wasn't surprising, Camilla and Cian had always made sure their kids were some of the first ones there at the beginning of every new term), however, what was different this time was the fact that the blonde wasn't alone. She was now joined by a younger Slytherin boy, one that she seemed to form a pretty decent friendship with during the Christmas break (when they had to go to more than four different Christmas parties/dinners with their Pureblood families).

Ophelia and Regulus walked side-by-side to place their luggage into the train, too immersed in their conversation to spot a pair of Gryffindor boys watching them, both with puzzled expressions on their faces.

James and Sirius arrived earlier than usual at King's Cross Station – all due to the excitement James felt when he realised he could yet again see Ophelia Avery (and maybe even see her wearing the ring he got her). He most certainly wasn't expecting to see her boarding the Hogwarts Express engaged in a full-blown conversation with Regulus Black.

A conversation that left a smile on her face.

His eyes followed their every move. Watching carefully if either one made a move on the other. But neither did. They simply walked through the station, chatting away before disappearing into the train and from James' curious – and jealous – eyes.

"Did you just see what I saw?" Sirius broke the silence, looking at his best friend with a look of disbelief.

"Your Slytherin brother talking to my Ophelia?"

Sirius shook his head, still in disbelief, "I was talking about Regulus smiling."

James' eyes widened. He had been so immersed in watching Ophelia, he didn't even notice how the Slytherin was acting around her. But now, thanks to Sirius, as James thought about it, he couldn't help but see the matching smiles Ophelia and Regulus wore on their faces. Smiles he practically craved that the pair would share.

Jealously seeped through his veins and he couldn't help but wonder. How in Merlin's name Ophelia Avery suddenly started speaking to Regulus Black. He had never seen the pair even as much as look in each other's direction (and he noticed most of the things the blonde looked at) let alone talk or hang out. Not to mention, he didn't even notice the ring sat comfortably on her finger.
