Chapter Forty-Four - Theo's Fury Pt.2

*Genevieve*

Stepping out of the airport, I am immediately pushed back a few steps, as a flash of darkness engulfed me into a bone-crushing hug. His words came out as gibberish due to how fast he was trying to talk to me. Pulling back, his eyes looked me over before he let out a breath of relief.

"WheniheardthatyouwereinVolterraIgotsoworried! Esmewasbesideherselfwithworrytheenitretimeitwashorrible! Icannotbelievethatyouwentthere! Whatwereyouthinking! Whereyoueventhinking!" He rambled, grabbing my arms and shaking me slightly as he tried to convey his worry for me.

Alice ducked her head and slipped past us, her suitcase wheeling close behind her as she made her way to Edward's Volvo, which someone had driven to the airport. As she passed Edward, she slipped her hand into his pocket and grabbed his keys, fast enough that he didn't seem to notice that they were missing. When she realized that her pickpocketing had been successful, she turned around and sent me a wink before unlocking his car and tossing her suitcase into the trunk.

As soon as she slipped into the passenger's seat, she pulled out her phone and began to talk into it. From what I could understand in Theo's rambles, Jasper had been beside himself with worry when he saw that Alice was missing, and stress only doubled when he found out that she had traveled to Volterra. He was so adamant about going after her that he had to be held back by Eleazar, Kate, and Irina. In the end, he and Theo left Denali and met up with the rest of the family in Forks less than two days later (all due to Jasper's speeding, according to Theo).

Edward and Bella hung back closer to the entrance of the airport to talk to a furious Charlie, who had been waiting for them by his cruiser.

Bella was a stuttering mess as she tried to explain why she left, her eyes flickering between the ground and her angry father.

Edward quickly spoke up, trying to lessen the tension between the father and daughter, but his words only seemed to make it worse. He quickly realized this and awkwardly left the two, offering Bella a few quiet words before hopping into his Volvo and slowly pulling out of the airport, heading back towards the house. As the car passed us, Alice sent us a beaming smile and a quick wave of her gloved hand.

"I love you, I love you, I love you. Are you an idiot?!" Theo shrieks, quickly gaining everyone's attention. "I mean really? Like are you stupid? You could've died! I had to hear from Alice that you two-"

I quickly pull him to me and bring his lips to mine, effectively cutting him off. As we continued to kiss outside of the airport, my arms wrapped around his neck, pulling his body closer to mine. His arms quickly wrapped around my waist, his hands resting comfortably on my waist as he continued to kiss me.

"Get a room!"

We both pull apart and look around, smirking and rolling our eyes when we see Emmett leaning against the Jeep. When he saw that we were looking over at him, he pretended to lean over and gag. We both throw him the finger as we walk over towards them.

Emmett and Theo playfully scuffle with each other while I greet Rose, whose golden eyes shined when she saw that I was okay. The two of us shared a quick hug before we all piled into the car. Rose immediately turned to me and playfully demanded an explanation as to what happened, the worry clear as she listened to what she could've caused if we hadn't been in time to stop him.

"It's not your fault, Rosie," I say, patting her shoulder comfortingly.

"I could've killed him!" Rose cried, dropping her face into her hands in horror as she realized how close we were to being too late. "I could've killed our brother Gen!"
