Your POV
Douxie was just standing there. He was holding Merlin's staff like a baby, fragile, as if he would drop it and it would shatter.

"It's all gone. Everything. The Heart of Avalon, Camelot... Merlin." Douxie mourned as he picked up a piece of the crystal heart.

I looked over to Steve. "Maybe we should say a few words?" I whispered.

"Yeah, okay. *ahem*. Battleship. November. Fruit punch. *sob* Purple-!" Steve started sobbing and I rolled my eyes before looking back to Douxie.

He put the piece in his pocket and turned around. "Oh, what can I say about Merlin? He was... he was, uh... He was everything." He knelt down and started petting Archie. "He was all that we had." He sat down, and Steve and I walked over to him.

"We'll get through this, together. We need you, Doux, now more than ever. The world, our friends are in danger." I handed him the book that Merlin left.

"And the Order's about to kick off an arcane apocalypse." Archie added so I gave him he death glare before looking back to Douxie.

"Merlin didn't tell me anything. And of course, he gave us a book that I can't even read. I mean, what is that supposed to be? Orcish? Elvish? Naga snake tribe?" He asked as Archie got a glimpse of the page. He then gasped and took a few steps back.

"It looks like... ancient Draconic."

"Draconic?" Steve asked before he made a huge gasp. "DRACULA!"

"No, he means dragons, Steve." I corrected.

"As in.." "Charlemagne, the Devourer." Archie finished Douxie's sentence.

"Charlemagne, the Devourer. Keeper of the most sacred stones and treasures. A vicious dragon." Douxie explained.

"W-Which is why we shouldn't trouble him. Maybe someone else can translate." Archie said as he flew up and perched on a piece of the castle.

"Could you, (Y/n)?" Douxie asked me as he held the book out for me to see.

"I could try." I said as I took a few steps back. I transformed into my dragon formed and looked at the page. The writing looked so familiar, yet so foreign all in one. It just confused me and made my head hurt.

"Ah, sorry Douxie." I changed back to human, "I can't read it. It looks so familiar but also not. I looks like a whole bunch of different words combined into one, it's too confusing. It could say so many things, and I don't want to get it wrong. Sorry, again."

Archie groaned. "I suppose we'll have to pay Charlemagne a visit." Douxie used his magic to summon the small ship to him.

"What about Jim? I need to find him." I asked as Douxie turned around.

"Go back to Hex Tech. Research any dark magic that could help him." Douxie commanded and I nodded.

"Okay. Let's go, Steve."

"Aw-! But the dragon quest!" He complained.

"What are you gonna do, get eaten again?" I asked as I made a portal underneath him, him falling in. I made a portal for myself and jumped in.

"Wow, thanks." PT 2Where stories live. Discover now
