Chapter 30: 'Exit?'

Start from the beginning

It stands up

It appears to be about. . .  Two-three feet taller than I am.

Whatever it is, it appears to still be forming, I notice a tail appear.

What here had a tail?

It took me til it was almost completely formed to figure out what- no. Who it is.

"Henry?"

He looks over to me and emits a low growl, I tense up, unsure if he's hostile.

He notices it, so this time he does an even louder growl.

"Is he controlling you again?" I ask, unsure if he can understand me.

He tilts his head, I can almost see the invisible question mark over his head.

"Can. You. Understand. Me?" I ask clearly, pronouncing each syllable, pointing to him, my 'ear', and then to me.

He makes some kind of gurgle sound before pointing to his ink covered eyes.

"Can you see?" I ask, I remember last time he was. .  this, he could see clearly.

He nods.

"How well can you see?"

He emits a barely audible gurgle.

Must mean he can barely see.

"Can you see me?"

He tilts his head, staring at me before emitting another barely audible gurgle.

"Barely?"

He nods.

"Let me try something." I say as I walk over to him.

"This might hurt a bit." I say before I quickly tear off the ink covering his eyes.

He stumbles back, screeching loudly if I could bleed, I would definitely be bleeding out of my nonexistent ears. Wouldn't surprise me if the entire studio heard it.

His claws are covering his face.

". . Henry?" I ask, cautiously stepping towards him.

Did I make it worse?

He moves his hands away from his face, glaring at me through golden, pie-cut shaped eyes.

Don't the Lost Ones have golden eyes?

I see a massive cut across his face from where the ink was.

I feel the hostility on him.

Animal instincts. I realize.

Currently his animal instincts are stronger than his human ones. .

And a hurt animal is a dangerous animal.

He launches himself at me, I expected it, so I quickly jump out  of the way, but what I wasn't expecting was how quickly he managed to turn around.

I barely dodged three more attacks.

That is when I noticed the moving ink.

Since when can he control the ink?
