Xingchen woke up to chattering in the kitchen. He stood up and walked to the kitchen quietly. He saw Xue Yang, Lan Zhan, and another man he did not recognize.
"Xue Yang," he said walking towards the man. Everyone turned to him and looked at him confused.
"Who is he?" The strange man asked.
"Oh sorry, I'm Xiao Xingchen," Xingchen said politely, "I'm a friend of Xue Yang."
"I'm Lan Xichen," the man said.
Xingchen nodded and turned to Wangji, "Lan Zhan right? You're a-Ying's boyfriend."
"Mn," Wangji said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Nice seeing you again," Xingchen said, he turned to Xue Yang, "I should probably go not, you three seem busy." He started walking away but Xue Yang caught his wrist.
"No it's fine," Xue Yang said, "we were just talking about work. You can stay for breakfast if you want."
"Are you sure? I already stayed the night and I don't want to bother you anymore," Xingchen said, he glanced at Xue Yang's hand slightly before turning a bright pink.
"It's fine, I don't mind you staying over," Xue Yang assured him.
"Fine," Xingchen said after a while, "I'll stay but only for breakfast."
"Great!" Xue Yang exclaimed, "I'll get breakfast ready." Xingchen nodded with a soft smile and walked to the living room with Xichen and Lan Zhan.
"Wangji, do you want to go tonight?" Xichen asked softly.
"Mn, who is it?" Lan Zhan asked.
"The Wens," Xichen replied, "I don't think it'll be too much of a problem."
"Mn."
Xingchen, who was listening in on their conversation, thought to himself about who the Wens were and where they were going.
"Did you bring one?" Xichen whispered.
"Mn," Wangji replied, "Chengmei too."
"Do you think he's a part of one?" Xichen asked, "He looks suspicious."
"Looks normal," Wangji said.
"That's because you haven't been us long enough," Xichen scoffed, "why did you join in the first place?"
"Because you told me."
"I tried to warn you," Xichen said, "but it looks like you're one of us so I can't say anything."
"What are you two whispering about?" Xue Yang asked, walking in with two plates.
"Nothing, just about what we're doing tonight," Xichen said.
"Alright, it should be easy shouldn't it?" Xue Yang said, as he walked out of the room and came back with another two plates.
"Yeah, but are you inviting someone?" Xichen asked, "I know I'm bringing Wanyin."
"I don't know anyone who is willing to go," Xue Yang said, "but let's stop talking about that. Let's eat."
"So," Xingchen said as they ate, "where do you work?"
"I'm an accountant," Xue Yang said, earning a chuckle from Xichen.
"Must be hard, all that paper," Xingchen said, "what about you two?"
     "Uhh police," Xichen quickly said.
     "Librarian," Wangji calmly said.
"Cool, what do you do mainly as a policeman?" Xingchen asked, there was something odd about the three men but he couldn't quite point out what.
"Uhh computer stuff," Xichen said nodding, "a lot of researching."
"Interesting," Xingchen said, "do you like doing it?"
"Yeah," Xichen said, "it's hard but fun."
"Good, what about you? Lan Zhan?" Xingchen nodded towards Wangji, "Do you like your job?"
"Mn," Wangji said.
"Good," he took his phone out and his lips formed a straight line, "I have to go, I wish I could stay longer but my friend wants me to help him out with something."
"It's fine," Xue Yang said, "we shouldn't hold you up. You're welcome to come anytime."
"Thank you Xue Yang," Xingchen said smiling, "really."
"No problem," Xue Yang said, "I'll go ahead and take you to your friend."
"It's fine, you've done enough for me for one day. I can just walk," Xingchen said.
"Are you sure? It's raining outside, and I don't think your friend will be happy if I let you arrive all wet," Xue Yang pointed out.
Xingchen looked out the window, the man was right, it was raining. He sighed, "Fine, you can take me."
"Great, let me go get a jacket," Xue Yang ran off leaving Xingchen alone with the siblings.
"I can tell you were lying," Xingchen said, putting his plate in the sink.
"What do you mean?" Xichen asked suspicious.
"I know you were lying to me about where you worked, Xue Yang too," Xingchen said, "I can tell when someone lies and can force them to tell the truth. Don't make me do that to you, now tell me, where do you work?"
"How do you know we were lying?" Wangji asked.
"You weren't completely lying," Xingchen said, "you work at a library, I saw you once."
"But you think I'm lying?" Xichen asked.
"Yes, I know you are," Xingchen said, "so please tell me the truth."
"I don't know you well enough," Xichen said, "I can't tell you until I trust you."
"Fine, then when did you meet Xue Yang?" Xingchen asked.
"A couple of years ago," Xichen said.
"Does he work where you work?" Xingchen asked.
    "No."
"Fine, then where do you work?," Xingchen said exasperated, "do you work for a mafia or something?"
Wangji looked up at his brother who stood up and stalked towards Xingchen dangerously. Xichen took something out of his pocket and put to Xingchen's head, "Shut up," he muttered.
Xingchen smiled, "Why should I? You work for the mafia don't you?"
"I said shut up!" Xichen said, raising his voice.
Chuckling softly, Xingchen moved the gun down from his head, "You think you scare me, well guess what? I've had a gun to my head multiple times, I've even been shot by one. You don't scare me."
   Xichen's eyes turned wide, "W-what?"
"I was abused a lot," Xingchen admitted, "you can't hurt me."
    "Brother," Wangji said, "Chengmei."
Xichen out his gun up and stepped away from Xingchen. Xue Yang walked into the room and noticed the strong tension, he knew what had happened, "Xingchen, let's go."
"Sure," Xingchen smiled and walked outside with Xue Yang who opened the door, leading him outside to his car.
