"I'm done," Pixie said in the scariest calm tone of voice that she could use.
"P, wait!" Lip said, jumping up from his bed.
"It was a mistake," the female said. "I trusted you, when my brothers both told me not to. It's over, Lip."
Watching the love of his life walk down the stairs, Lip knew that he had royally fucked everything up.
"Lip?" a voice sounded from the bedroom.
"Get out, Karen," Lip said, not sure how he was going to figure things out with his now ex-girlfriend.

Back at her childhood home, Pixie Halstead let herself into the house and went straight to her room. No one was home, as per the usual, so she had no problem blasting her music as loud as she wanted.
Grabbing her notebook off of her desk, Pixie flopped stomach down on her bed and went to town writing a new song. Her emotions were more than enough to fuel a brand new song that she could sing at an open mic night in town. Her brothers both had their own unique piece about themselves, just as Pixie did. Jay was the tough one, Will was the smart one, and Pixie was the musical one. Each Halstead child had their own thing and they more than succeeded at whatever it was they they did.
"Small town homecoming queen
She's the star in this scene
There's no way to deny she's lovely
Perfect skin, perfect hair
Perfumed hearts everywhere
Tell myself that inside she's ugly
Maybe I'm just jealous
I can't help but hate her
Secretly I wonder if my boyfriend wants to date her
She is the prom queen, I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader, I'm sitting in the stands
She gets the top bunk, I'm sleeping on the floor
She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door"
With tears in her eyes, Pixie eventually gave up on the song, knowing that she was too upset to finish it at the moment and that the ending would eventually come to her. Instead, she got off of her bed and lowered the music that she had blaring and heard her stomach growling.
Leaving her room, the girl knew that there wasn't anything to eat in the house, so she pulled her phone out of her pocket and called her brother.
"Jay, I'm hungry."
That was all the girl had to say before her brother was walking into the house with more than enough food to feed an entire family.
Jay didn't get this phone call very often, but he knew that when his little sister called and said that she was hungry, it meant that someone or something had broken her heart.
"What did he do?" Jay questioned, seeing the tear stains on his little sister's face. He quickly put the bags of food down and walked over to her and brought her into a hug.
"It's who he did," Pixie sighed, tears flooding her eyes once again.
"You're too good for him, P," Jay told her, still holding his sister tightly. "He's not going anywhere with his life, you've got your entire future ahead of you. You're going places, kid," he assured her.
"I know that you think that you're helping by saying all of that, Jay, but it's not helping," Pixie sighed again. "Lip and I have been friends for forever, he knows how against cheating I am."
"I can't believe that I'm asking this, but do you think that there's some sort of explanation behind it?" Jay questioned.
"How do you explain cheating? Oops, sorry, my dick fell into her over and over again?" Pixie questioned, letting go of her brother. "I love you, Jay. Trust me, I really do, but sometimes I wonder about you mentally. You have to stop jumping into Will's role," she told him. "You're just supposed to bring me food and watch sports with me so I can yell and get my anger out."
"I know, but you're my little sister. I can't help wanting to fix everything for you," Jay told her.
"You can't fix this, but thanks for trying," Pixie said. "Thanks for the food, but I know that you have to go back to work. Say hi to Erin for me."
"Will do, kid," Jay spoke, kissing his sister's forehead. "Don't let this eat you up, P," Jay added before leaving.

After indulging in as much of the food that Jay had brought her before her stomach began to ache in fullness, Pixie went back up to her room and opened her notebook to finish the song that she had started earlier in the day.
It didn't take long before the words flowed from her mind, to the tip of the pencil that she was writing with, forming an entire song. Pixie knew that the next step was trying to write the music to go with the lyrics. This was the part of the entire process that she cherished the most. The music of the song would be what drew in the crowd and want them to listen to the song instead of brushing it off and tuning it out.
Opening up her computer, Pixie toyed with the different instruments that she had prerecorded in the program that she chose to use. And, before she knew it, the song had fully formed itself. She didn't realize how long that she had been working on it, until she heard the voice of her older brother calling her name throughout the house.
"In my room, Will," Pixie shouted back to him.
"Jay texted me," he spoke.
"He always does, which is why I didn't bother," the girl admitted.
"How far into the song did you make it?" Will asked, knowing his sister's routine when her emotions went from neutral to an extreme.
"I'm done with it, but I just have to record the lyrics to the music," she informed him.
"Can I hear it?" Will questioned.
"I can let you listen to the music that I just put together or I can let you read the lyrics. I haven't recorded anything yet, so I don't know how that's going to go. And, no, I will not sing it for you," Pixie laughed.
"I'll wait to listen to it then," Will spoke.
"Think that I could play at Molly's one of these nights?" Pixie asked, knowing that her brother knew the owners, since it was a common bar visited between the police officers, firefighters, doctors, and nurses in Chicago.
"I can always ask and see what I can do," Will answered.
"Appreciation," Pixie laughed, hugging her brother.
