Shining, bright, joyful little stars cover the night sky. Though wind is the only music that can be heard from the rooftop of this rusty building, distant footsteps on the wet pavement can also be heard through the quiet neighborhood. A windy night is what it is. Nothing quite surprising to the usual dwellers of the old apartments or to the dwellers of the streets.

The latter are simply not wasting time thinking about such matters due to the luxurious sleeping arrangement that comes with other happy experiences.

Some of those being the cold night air that easily pierces through lungs and the street rats that probably carry more diseases than the sky is carrying stars tonight.

The dark alleyway is creating shadows that are looming sinisterly over the empty streets. The old buildings are looking heavily exhausted from being a witness to the same streetlamps for years. These rusty looking buildings that are about four stories high, overlook the distant town. A small town situated a few miles east of an almost dried river.

One of these buildings also seems to overlook another old building such as itself. On the rooftop of that building, A little figure can be seen from a distance. It is not a foggy night but the darkness is certainly of no help to one's vision.

What can be made of it through the naked eye is that it is a little girl. She is wearing a dress of some sort. She seems to be looking up, at the sky full of stars. Even though the wind is blowing strongly and the rain is trying its best to make its presence known, the little girl keeps on looking at the sky. It is pouring.

But what shakes her from her thoughts is the proud thunder that successfully revealed itself just now. She looks down to see a hunched, frail figure in the dark alley. The old lady is taking shelter from the rain under the shade of a stairway. a black cat joins her shortly after.

The old lady is a familiar figure, really. But can one be called a familiar figure if they don't know you? But you know them and see them? And wonder how their life is going?

Standing under the deafening rain is getting quite cold. She adjusts her hoodie as she decides to leave for home. Well...if you can call it that.

She runs down the stairs and passes the old lady on the way. By the time she reached her doorstep, the cat had already made itself at home on the lap of its new friend.
