Three

Niall's P.O.V.

Please still be on the phone, I thought.

"What are you yelling about?"

The woman on the other end sounded annoyed. But all I felt was relief.

"I am Niall J Horan," I spoke confidently into the phone.

"No, you're not. You said so before. Good day"

It sounded like she was about to hang up.

"No! I am! I said that because I thought you might be a fan!" I rambled quickly before she could hang up.

"A fan?" She replied after a pause, sounding skeptical.

"Yes, a fan. I didn't want a fan to have my number because they would probably tell everyone!"

"Sir, are you feeling alright?" Now she sounded concerned.

"Wha-? Yes, I'm feeling fine. Now, what did you have to tell me before?"

"Mr. Horan, fans cannot speak."

Now I was confused, "Fans? F-A-N-S?" I spelled it to make sure I'd heard her right.

"Yes, fans. F-A-N-S," She confirmed.

One by one the rest of the lads keeled over with laughter.

"What?" I shot at them.

"Fans, Niall!" Zayn managed.

I still didn't see what was so funny, until Louis pointed to the ceiling. I glanced up and saw the ceiling fan. Ohhh!! Now I was laughing with them. I heard the lady at the other end of the phone saying something but I couldn't hear because I'd dropped my phone on the floor. I picked it up and handed it the phone to Harry who'd seemed the most composed out of us.

"What was that?" He asked.

I could only hear our end now.

"No, I'm Harry... I'm a friend... He's right here... He's laughing... He can't talk because he's laughing so hard... Okay, okay, okay."

He gave the phone back to me.

"She's 'not authorized to tell it to anyone but Niall J Horan'" He rolled his eyes.

I took the phone and put it next to my ear.

"Yeah?"

"Are you Niall J Horan?" She sounded like she really didn't want to talk to us anymore.

"Yes," I said, on the verge of laughing again.

"Well, the girl who you're funding is being released tomorrow."

My brain was working in slow motion. The girl. Released. I needed to send someone to get her! A grin spread across my face.

"I'll send someone to pick her up."

The lady told me how they'd done DNA tests and were waiting for the results and blah, blah, blah. I didn't care at all, as long as I could finally get to know this girl.

That night the concert was a blast! I was back to my old self and was having a great time at it! I'd begged a security guard to go get the girl from the hospital. It was about four hours away from us and he'd left later in the day so he'd be staying in a hotel overnight and coming back with the girl the next day. I felt a bit worse every time I thought it, but I was a bit glad she had amnesia. This way I could get to know her. And not just her, but her. What she was really like. Most fans (the living, breathing, speaking kind) are fangirling too much when they meet us for us to see what they're really like. With this girl, it would be different. I would also have time to get to know her because until her DNA test, or memories came back, we didn't know who she was, so if she was okay with it, she'd travel with us.

The next day was a travel day. We'd be going by bus because there was going to be a big storm so we couldn't fly. We had to leave immediately after the concert, to get to the next city in time for midday TV program we were scheduled to be on. I slept in my cubby most of the ride. I woke up really early in the morning. At first, I didn't realize why. But then I saw someone moving around right outside the cubby under me. That's strange, I thought. Usually, no one sleeps in that cubby because there are six. We use that one for storage. Oh well, one of the lads probably needs something out of it... And I drifted back to sleep. Later that morning the alarm on my phone went off, signaling it was time to get up and get ready for the interview. I rolled over, forgetting I was in my cubby and dropped about three feet to the floor. I groaned. Mornings.

I opened my eyes a bit more. What was that? A person! I jumped back into Louis who was just waking up.

"Get off!" He mumbled.

I ignored him. There was someone in the bed cubby just under mine! I was still almost half asleep and wasn't processing it fully. The person there was looking at me. It was a girl. The girl! The girl got here early!

"You're here!" I cried joyfully.

"Um... yeah." She seemed a bit shy.

"When did you get here?" I wondered out loud.

"What time is it?" She asked instead.

I checked my phone. "9:16"

"Then I got here four hours ago."

"You're not supposed to be here until the afternoon," I said, suddenly aware I was in my One Direction onesie and my hair was a mess.

"Oh, I wanted to get here as soon as possible. So we didn't end up spending the night in a hotel." She blushed.

There were a few moments of silence until Louis unexpectedly pushed me off him and I fell into Liam, who was just getting out of bed. He lost balance and had to grab the bathroom door to keep from falling over. The door wasn't locked. Harry was in there. Luckily he was only brushing his teeth. The lads and I (except for Zayn who was still sleeping), all blushed at our clumsiness. The girl, however, started laughing. I could tell I was going to like this girl. Anyone who laughs like that, I'd like.
